  1. i like the fights in KP, moreso than EV... but its hard to say which one is harder... we were doing HM KP fights before we were doing EV, but i think that has more to do with the group that evening, than anything else.
  2. what server do you play on? I normally have to turn people down for party requests simply because there are so many. I'm just DPS too, it has to be worse for healers and tanks. part of it is because i have been developing relationships with people around my level, from the very beginning. Now we have an active raiding guild of 30 or 40 so LFG is a thing of the past...
  3. all of the whining and crying about such inane things, really makes this thread lultastic. YOU NEVER DISAPPOINT SWTOR COMMUNITY!!!
  4. i think it is BS that i actually have to play the game to get the gear i want. i was hoping to login and just be able to pickout what i wanted, when i wanted it... all this fighting and levelling crap is for TryHards and E-peeners where is the support for the community who doesn't want to play??? We deserve Op level gear too...
  5. ugh... a local LFG tool i can get behind, but cross-server was terrible for WoW and this will be no different.
  6. lulz I NEED SOMETHING TO FIND AND MAKE ME A GROUP!! RIGHT MEOWWWW!!!! jesus christ...
  7. i'm here to provide the bone! carry on
  8. i7 920 @ 4ghz HD7970 @ 1100/1500 <---- this card is a beast!! i see 90+ fps in fleet with a metric crapton of people.
  9. i will buff anybody i see, of a different class than me... i really wish people would return the favor. sometimes i will /say "mind if i get a buff?" after i have given mine... but most simply continue on their way, probably with the chat window minimized. i love to snag a full compliment of buffs before i go out questing...
  10. i love the fact that this is an ARCADE STYLE space shooter. I realize that arcades are a foreign concept these days, but this is really what space combat is, in SWTOR. leave the casual playability in and expound on the higher end missions, i feel like they have a damn good foundation for some cool options in the future.
  11. oh man i'm with you, heat is a freaking PUNISHING mechanic... but thats part of why i like it. Think of the math... you're regenning what... 5/sec when under 40. So the longer your heat is kept below that point, you will always be regenning 5/sec. If you keep that up over the course of an entire fight, you have used CONSIDERABLY MORE heat, than if you used your abilities faster and were in a higher heat range. Does that mean we will always be able to stay under there? Absolutely not... there are plenty of situational things that come up, where you gotta overheat. Luckily we do have ways of getting it back under control. If i am just over 50 heat or so, i will pop thermal override and hit death from above... since the cd makes it free and the entire animation of DfA is a little over 3 secs, you will be back under 40 when it finishes. I will interchange DfA with Unload, depending on the situation. If Terminal Velocity procs, that is just more heat vented.
  12. never really cared for hybrid's either way... also, it's hard to convince someone who is dead-set to play some bunk build, that their **** aint workin. in any case, more power to the hybrid players, but you'll never see one in our raids.
  13. i have spent MANY hours trying to fill various groups in MMO's and i will say one thing i have noticed. The easier you make everything, the lazier people get. One thing that really irritated me about the cross-server LFG tool from WoW, was the fact that it was essentially anonymous. What were the odds you would get someone from your realm? Normally, it wouldn't be an issue... but with this veritable anonymity, people really tend to show what complete ******s they can be. I wouldn't mind a better LFG system but i am not completely onboard with something that is going to automatically put your group together... there is something to be said for a player who is good at getting effective groups together. Typically, these players will have lists of various players to fill the essential roles. as it stands now, there have been heroics i have not been able to find groups for, but those have been few and far between. All it takes is watching chat periodically and advertising your services.
  14. you will regen more heat and have more heat to use, by keeping it under 40. There are many ways to do this, even when you creep up over 40. i raid EV/KP and i DO NOT overheat during any fight, unless it goes wrong and i have to spot heal or something. open the fight up with a relic and just go F'ing nutz... i get my tracer stacks up, i use overload every proc and HS when it is off CD. Towards the top of my heat range, i will usually have a proc'd Unload so i will use my thermal override and hit that unload, that crits and natually regens enough heat for another round of tracer and HS. Then i pop vent heat... this will be probably 1min into the fight. At this point i manage my abilities and heat to make sure it does not exceed 40. When i see vent heat coming back around, i cycle through my CD's again and completely blow my load... vent heat and return to managing under 40. I can do this ~3 times during a raid boss and it is VERY RARE that i will need to spam rapid shots. just some info as to how i am managing heat in raid fights, you may find something useful.
  15. when it comes to pure damage mitigation... Powertechs have the game wrapped up. The damage reduction from their armor and shield absorption more than makes up for the lack of avoidance and defensive cooldowns.
