  1. Ditto, couldn't have said it better. I'm good with the mouse. I love the game, I'd like to see more of it. If there were more map options it would be the kind of thing we could play all day and all night for months. Heck, I've played these two many hundreds of times now, and they are still fun. But I don't enjoy same faction matches as much. It's really fun. There is room to grow and I hope that it continues to. I haven't touched the ground game since December 3rd.
  2. Ditto, I feel your pain..............believe me. But like other people have said on this thread, the object is to win the game. You get the most requisition when you do. The team that has too many people running off from the primary objectives usually loses because nobody holds the zones. So good for you in being one of the good ones.
  3. Thanks for bringing this up. I signed up for the Beta Test. I love the customization of the ships, at least the way they are selling it. It reminds me of the way people are painting their ships in X-Wing Miniatures. It looks like Disney is paying attention, and is trying to deliver what people want. It looks like a fun free game, the graphics are probably OK--but I don't think it will come close to Galactic Starfighter. It sort of looks like an Angry Birds version of GS. But, I'll play it likely for countless hours--because I love that kind of thing.
  4. I'm with you guys. I didn't think there would ever be a game like that again. But this is better because the graphics back then were rough. Mechanics are similar. But the graphics are just cool. I hope there are more zones and larger worlds, capital ships, trench runs, and all that kind of stuff. But this is great so far. I get the feeling these designers are fans of the X Wing Miniatures game. Now that this is out I spend my whole weekends playing either that game or this one. Forget about reality.
  5. I've waited to let the newness wear off a bit before getting too excited. After all, GS is still only two warzone maps. But, this is the most fun I've had with a Star Wars game, or flight simulator since X Wing--the first one. It is obvious that the designers loved that game, because it plays like that old game, which was so good once a player got used to it. It used to drive me nuts that the player had to continuously correct their roll direction, or could stop in mid flight and just hover in zero Gs, but after playing X Wing, and the kind of mission goals there used to be, there really wasn't any other way. With Galactic Starfighter, the opportunity for that kind of game play is here. By the way BioWare built the old X Wing mechanics into the game, I would think we are all in for some very nice surprises in the months to come. I love the game. It is a great addition, and a whole lot of fun.
  6. I hope so. This is great stuff. I can't really get enough of it. After you get used to things, its very tempting to just start a new match and have some fun. Very easy to get to, and very easy to continue playing as long as you want.
  7. Hey, I love the game. I love all flight combat games, and I'm having a blast with this one. A nice Nexu saw-toothed mouth sure would look cool on the front of my Strike Fighter http://youtu.be/7EMickdLwu0 Hint, hint As the game matures it would be really cool to have logo skins like that available so guilds or aces could display their swagger. When the free to play people come into things in February just think how much money they would be willing to dump into the game to upgrade so they are equal to the Subs who had been playing for over two months. It doesn't have to be a Shark Mouth, but a Rancor , Nexu, or Opee Sea Monster would be pretty freaking cool as paint options on the front or wings of the fighter craft.
  8. I am loving this game. It reminds me of the first X Wing game years ago mixed with Battlefront. I'm sure it will get better as more areas are added. I think space flight isn't for everyone. Some people just aren't good at it. For those people, it would be good if they could ride in a gunship with someone who is good at dog fighting and act as a gunner, such as defending captured points. If a pilot was grouped with someone who wanted to be a gunner, then the second person could sit in a swivel chair and just blast away at targets from behind. Just a thought so everyone could participate and have fun, and it would make it hard to sneak up from behind for the opposing players. For me, I love the combo of arcade style play with flight sim HUD displays. It's better than I thought and will keep me playing for a very long time. I hope the team keeps working to improve it, because there is a lot of potential here. I think the best part of it for me is that it has a mini game feel. If you're waiting for someone at a particular place on the ground game, you can just que this up and start playing wherever you are. You don't have to go to the fleet, or your ship, you just start playing and that is pretty cool. It can be a nice break in the action, or can become a whole night of flying around dog fighting like I've been doing for the last 24 hours. I forgot to sleep.
  9. For those who want to buy their plane tickets now, this years Star Wars Celebration Europe looks like it will be a blast! http://overmanwarrior.wordpress.com/2013/03/08/star-wars-celebration-europe-get-ready-for-the-force/
  10. It looks like some were able to see the episode at Lucasfilm over the weekend. Here is what the Examiner said: http://www.examiner.com/review/a-review-of-the-clone-wars-season-six-finale-arc
  11. From the Lucasfilm press release: The shocking finale to Season 5 of Star Wars: The Clone Wars has arrived, with major revelations that will leave characters forever changed. Ahsoka is wrongly accused for sedition and murder, and is to be prosecuted in the High Courts of the Galactic Republic by a zealous Admiral Tarkin. Seemingly abandoned, Ahsoka’s last hope lies in Anakin Skywalker, who hunts the Coruscant underworld for the real murderer in “The Wrong Jedi,” Saturday, March 2nd at 9:30am ET/PT on Cartoon Network. This episode – the culmination of five years of development of Ahsoka Tano’s character and her relationship with Anakin – is personally helmed by Dave Filoni, who serves as episodic director in addition to being the supervising director for the series. Underscoring the significance of the finale, composer Kevin Kiner arranged an orchestral score for this episode to better resemble the full, classical score found in the Star Wars feature films. http://overmanwarrior.wordpress.com/2013/02/28/ahsoka-faces-her-greatest-challenge-watch-the-end-of-season-5-of-the-clone-wars/
  12. I'm with you on that. The guys doing that are dedicated Star Wars fans who will get every detail right, so it's something to be excited about. They have some real heart behind it. I'm hoping to work in some vacation time to give them a hand in assembling the thing. I've always wondered if the interior sets could be worked into the exterior set they built for Empire and it looks like they are starting to work out some of those measurment issues of fitting the inside to the outside. Not a small feat, and I can't wait to go see this thing built in real life. If I had to take a bet, I would bet that ten years from now when Disney builds a Star Wars park after the success of these new films, that they hire these guys to build a Falcon for their park since they are the ones working out all the headaches on this effort.
  13. Boo Hoo Nancy Negative.............dude, where did I say these are actual pictures? They are design pics and are the first step of getting everything planned out correctly, and calculating cost. And I think they are damn good as they were done from scratch. I am very impressed with the forward hold area because there are not many pictures available of that area and had to be made up from prints. Plus if you look at the other pics, you will see the actual panels they have made and they are quite impressive.
