  1. Well, since they took three rooms of the stronghold out of my subscription reward, will they lower the price of my subscription since I get less "value" for it?
  2. Well, since the new Stronghold will only be partially available to subscribers, will Broadsword lower the price of my subscription since they devalued the content I get with my subscription?
  3. First of all, I like that BioWare actually invest some dev time into the trade system. That has potential. As to your questions: What do you like about how the GTN currently functions? I like that it is there at all. A good market system offers something which is of great importance to users which is transparency. The worst aspect of the credit cap for items is the necessity to approach the trade channel for premium items as the trade channel is a cesspool of greed and shady characters. It feels like talking to a bunch of drug dealers in the worst part of town and selling there feels like dealing with a bunch of junkies looking for a cheap fix. Recent changes to the game economy and the fact that notorious credit sellers sort of ran out of credits have pushed the price threshold for the most expensive premium items to roughly three billion credits. A raise of the credit cap would remove the need for a trade chat to exchange premium items entirely. What do you dislike about how the GTN currently functions? If anything I dislike that there is not penalty to hoarding items at all. One of the more pressing problems to "people in trade" is that they simply have to move their merch. In real life stuff goes bad or becomes outdated/obsolete. You also have to pay fees for storage and handling. In this game people can hide their (sometimes ill-gotten) wealth in vast item storages. I'd like to see cartel market items lose their unbound status after a while. Maybe after six months or so those items should bind to the legacy owning them. That would really put the pressure on certain power sellers to liquidate their stocks and thus deminish their leverage on the market system. Is there anything you wish you could do on the GTN that you cannot do currently? Oh, where to begin? A watchlist for certain items would be nice. I'd also like to place "buy orders" instead of just sell orders. Something like "I can pay ammount X for item Y". That would be a godsend especially if you are looking to buy certain resources in bulk for crafting. One might consider matching buy and sell orders. I do fear, though, that some would abuse this system to catch people who make mistakes entering prices. Are there any specific filters, searches, or ways of finding items you particularly like or that you wish existed? Well, as someone who fleeces the market for bargains and good deals, a search function for "new on the market" irregardless of the offer's duration would be nice. I already mentioned a personal watchlist for items. It would be amazing if there then were something like "x players have this item on their watchlist" in order to gauge "consumer interest" (The items on the watchlist should have a limited "duration" so that inactive accounts won't clog the system). What kinds of information do you use to decide when to make a purchase? If you could have more information what would you want? Currently, there is no alternative to experience and market knowledge. Transparent as the GTN is, the average buyer/seller usually doesn't know what constitutes a "fair price". That problem is exacerbated by certain traders who spam the market with bogus "offers" at high prices to artificially inflate perceived price levels. A key information would be something like "trade volume" and average sale price. A minimal version like "23 items sold during the last 30 days at an average price of X". Maybe with a high/low price information or if you are really ambitious a chart like the Steam item market has. That would really help the casual customer to close the information gap compared to the GTN-pros a bit.
  4. Soa completely reset in his last phase upon the player holding aggro being pulled into a mindtrap. He reappeared floating in his phase1 position out of reach of the party. Two more minor bugs. Players missing a platform between Phase2 and the last phase didn't die but floated in limbo and could not be targeted. The ground voids in Phase2 ticked twice covering a large part of the map.
  5. Well, I can confirm that the Eternity Vault is bugged again. It felt like such a 2012 flashback. It started with the first boss. It looked like in random intervals that the fight disregarded item stats. The boss hit us with damge like we were naked. We had to take off/put on our armor the fix it. Second boss. The entire boss phases were out of wack, islands randomly not sinking into the lava or those "rock bridge" not appearing. Final boss. We had the floating bug after the first platform switch. On the next try half the group floated when we entered the boss area.
  7. One nagging thought bothers me with this Makeb announcement. BW can't be that stupid not to know that going back if not on a promise than at least on well-founded player expectations would create a forum outrage and lots of negative PR for the game. And yet they persist on milking the players for some extra 10$. The only real explanation for this must be that BW is DESPERATE FOR NEW FUNDS, meaning that they probably work under some sort of deadline from EA to create a positive cash flow........or else. HMS BioWare must be listing more than we realize. Remind me to warn my friends from buying EA shares. Sure, they are dirt cheap as it is but no turnaround expected ^^
  9. I don't think BW are aware that the decision not to offer Makeb for Cartel Points might actually cost them more money than it will make them. I can only speak from my perspective. I'm a long-term subscriber, playing the game since early access. There was nothing on the CM for me because it basically is overpriced fluff and due to real life obligations I'm little more than a casual player with limited game time. But I stayed on my sub because I know from other games that additional content usually becomes available through the online shop. That was what I intended to save my Cartel Points for. Now I'm sitting on a heap of funny money which BW claims should be worth over 20$ of stuff but I can't buy the stuff I want. You only get this for 'real' cash up front. So if I can't get such content with the ingame currency I already possess, what's there to keep me from turning my Cartel Points into an adequate f2p experience with unlocks and cancel my sub? That's right BW! Because I'm essentially lazy and don't like to penny-pinch with my gaming experience I was willing to stay subbed in order to get Makeb in the shop. Now that this option is off the table I can unsub, enjoy the game and simply resub once Makeb hits the servers. If I buy the stuff before unsubbing I get it for 10$ and by playing the game f2p for a month or two I can actually save money in the process. Maybe I should thank BW for jolting me out of my lethargy. The simply wisdom hit me: If they can nickel and dime my gaming experience then so can I.
  10. Easy solution: Buy the 'digital upgrade', cancel your sub for half a month or a whole month (you should spend Christmas with your family anyhow), resub. The devs said that nothing will really happen over the holidays because most of the staff is away for Christmas. Buy the upgrade and save a month of subscription fees. This way you get the new stuff for free. Anyone should be able to find two weeks between subs where playing this game might not be necessary, right? Just take a break from the game!
  13. Yes, it's all lies, broken promises and a blatant money grab for content which was supposed to be an update patch and not an expansion. But considering that the BW/EA combination scores negative in credibility by now anyhow, I can't really say that this has any shock value. As a subber I get maybe two weeks of extra entertainment at the price of a big coffee and two bagels I usually buy on my way to work. Yeah, it sucks, but you don't expect fair deals from your drug dealer, right?
  14. Lack of role models could be an explanation. Most iconic characters from the movies and games are force users. The Imperial Agent i.e. has little 'hold' even in the expanded universe of Star Wars. Moreover, the game mechanics for the non-forceusing classes are not very intuitive and have few similarities to classes in other MMOs (and where they do they often appeal to players who prefer to niche classes like rogues or hunters).
