  1. Its pugged, really pugged. You get people that are obviously wintrading and throwing matches (hell, there is even a guild named Wintraders). You get people that still have their 208 pre-CXP pvp gear. Its not uncommon to see people with gear that isn't even rated above 200. Players that have just empty shells. Some people don't even have a primary weapon. Mid-level relics. If you point that out, they scream at you that EQ doesn't matter, its all about skill. All kinds of swell times. At least everyone gets participation trophy Unassembled Components!

    Open world Pvp

You can always go stomp on the semi-AFK resource gatherers that hang around Yavin 4 constantly.
  3. Doing ranked in SWTOR is nothing more than just another grind to get a few more misc graphics on your toon that someone else doesn't have. Yay.
  4. Worked hard? Right. Some of the achievements, the only "hard work" was being logged in at the right time and clicking a blue glowy, or buying a few things from a vendor. Most people recognize that there is better worth of their $15 than spending it to only get a 25 cent plastic ring, aka SWTOR decorations, pets, mounts and clothing that only vary by color, etc., from the gumball machine. Many people had real-life requirements that didn't allow them the chance to "achieve" exchanging $15 for a 25 cent gumball - Hurry, for a limited time only!.

    The hatred

Just wait until you start getting in ranked matches with players that have less than 230 gear AND are missing gear pieces, like boots or helmets, etc. One time, the guy didn't even have a weapon. Now that is frustrating. At least everyone gets 3 Unassembled Components participation trophy, no matter what.
  6. You PvP. You don't win that much. But its not like it is your fault. Never. Not a chance. Its the scrubs' fault. Go back to regs! Stop queuing! Even if you know its your fault, no way are you going to own up to that. Your rage is building to volcanic proportions. Its gonna blow!!!! You gotta find an outlet for all that rage. It must be someone else's fault. But who's? What's your thought process on deciding who to pick so that you can tell them they are so worthless that they should commit real-life suicide because they aren't carrying you in ranked PvP on SWTOR? How do you choose?
  7. Whoever kills the healer first, wins - that's the "battle cry" on the Republic side. So I try and keep some semblance of team consistency in a pug PvP group, and follow orders. Yet, once I'm gang slaughtered in seconds (I play a Jedi Sentinel), it gives me a chance to watch what everyone is doing. I see the Imperials focus on the damage first. And pick each of them off one by one. A lot of the times, I'll watch the Imperials even slaughter the tank before they finish off the healer last. Us Republics are still trying to work on the Imperial's healer (that is when everyone actually focuses as opposed to randomly scattered and charging whatever), which often times, barely even gets scratched. I would think other Republics would notice this, but, nope, its always "Healer first! YOU ALL SUCK!! GO BACK TO REGS! WHAT'S YOUR PROBLEM!!!!!!!" Which also begs the question why the guy is furiously typing instead of furiously killing, but that's a whole 'nother thread. I really don't want to blame it on game mechanics weighing against Republic classes, but am I missing something here? Is it really Kill the Healer FIRST!!! ? or are Republic pug PvP'ers drastically oblivious?
  8. When it comes to pkill, I have a VERY itchy trigger finger. Since 4.0 has made this game so mind-numbingly easy, I am running around, missions, zoning, flashpoint, even HM Ops in PvP gear 97% of the time. If I see a red player, I just hit the lightsaber throw button and go for it. Is it even possible? "I never ask that question until after I've done it!" rings more true than anything to me when it comes to pkill. For example, during the Gree event, my group was doing pylons out in the PvP Free for All zone. We finish up, and I start driving off. No more than 50 meters out, my habit of always checking behind me kicks in. Well what do you know?! there are three reds right behind me! It does register to me that there are three of them, but just one of me, but I bet I could take down at least one of! Out of pure adrenaline fused instinct, I turn around, throw my lightsaber, and start cycling damage/incapacitating attacks. The thought bounces thru my head, 'Well get a load of that - they're all from my same side of the faction!'. I had the guy half way dead before I suddenly realized that this was the group I had just been with!! I hurry away and disengage as General Chat lights up with WTFs. I apologize profusely, citing my itchy trigger finger, as the adrenaline rush subsides. I've been going about it like this since lvl 20's. So am I doing this pkill thing right?
  9. George Lucas sure had a "fetish" with cutting off appendages. Granted, George isn't in charge of this new Star Wars movie, but who wants to put together a wager pool that the tradition continues? I'd put forward $1, on 5 to 1 odds, that at least one arm is chopped off in this new movie. https://static-ssl.businessinsider.com/image/5539576f6bb3f7e833834ca7/markhamillgif.gif https://cdn.playbuzz.com/cdn/a76a7143-3ec1-47a4-bb3f-362632dbe3aa/c95e22d6-ee91-4454-b9ed-68248d1bc902.jpg
  10. Just watched all of the trailers in one collection, I got a gut feeling that they are going to kill off one of the original main characters: Han, Luke, Leia, Chewbacca. Don't know which one, and it is all gut feeling, and I don't think it will happen till closer to the third movie. Maybe at the end of the second for heavy dramatic *GASP* style effect.
  11. This game keeps inching its way towards Star Wars: Galaxies, New Gaming Enhancement It makes you wonder if Bioware went out and hired all the out of work SOE developers from Galaxies. With 4.0, they mostly dumbed the game down so the dumbest of the dumb could play it easily without having to actually put thought process into playing. I can imagine the Bioware:SWTOR planning/developing/marketing board room, "How can we make this game so pathetically simple, that even the dumbest person on the internet will readily give us money to play?". Sure, making a game so simple that the dumbest of people can easily play it will bring in those tail-end of the spectrum people, but they are just a fringe quantity. They'll stick around until they have sped thru everything the game has, and they "win". Then, even the dumbest of the dumb will get bored and go off to somewhere else that provides at least average smarts requirements. The problem is, the average smarts players and above will have left to something more captivating long before that.
  12. Star Wars Galaxies: New Game Enhancement We just got one step closer with 4.0 Did Bioware go out and hire all the out of work developers from SOE??
  13. With the new Star Wars movie on its way, I present a moment of nostalgia
  14. I was bored the other night, because most everything in this game is just handed to you from character creation. I figured I would finish out some achievements, so I took my lvl 61 character to Coruscant. I found a spot that had some mobs that reloaded pretty fast, and I put a movie on to watch while I AFK ground away the achievements. Actually, it wasn't me grinding out the achievement - my companion did everything. I barely even looked at the computer screen, because I was watching the movie instead. By the time the movie was over, I had gone from lvl 61 to 64. On Coruscant. Completely from achievement trash mobs. And the only thing that I had a worry about was whether my character was going to time out from being idle. So I made him turn a little bit every several minutes or so. Ok, ok, I confess. It did take longer than the whole movie. I took a small break to go get a snack and to pee. Technically, that did take longer than one movie. And, I did make sure to turn my character again before taking that break, because I didn't want him to time out while I was completely AFK doing something else. Concerns and all. While all this "demanding" activity was happening, my mind did begin to wonder. Because, obviously, I didn't have to put any brain power into actually playing the game. I thought about getting lvl 65 for all classes. I really wouldn't have to put any effort into it. Most likely within a day or two. Especially with lvl 60 starting characters. I wouldn't even need to EQ my characters. Bolster would compensate. All I would have to do is just run PvP Warzones over and over until I power leveled. Fail or win, I would get the exp. I could have lvl 65 on all character classes within just a week or two. Who cares how many people I annoyed with that. Nobody remembers anybody after a warzone anyways. Besides, who would actually stick around in this game? After you've "finished" the game with max lvl, and nobody wants to do anything with you, because everybody else has been playing the game for real prior to 4.0 (and even prior to 12x experience summer of 2015), what's the point of playing anymore? Its kinda like how I beat a Nintendo game - the original 8-bit Nintendo - over a weekend, and returned it to the rental store on Monday, and went onto something bigger and better the following weekend. Is this really what the game has devolved into? Does Bioware really not see how people will get bored within their first few months of playing this game, because they don't have to put in even the tiniest amount of interested effort? And the storylines/missions don't compensate, because none of them have any real puzzle-thinking required. They're all insta win as long as you kill the mobs specified and/or open the crate that is marked with a glowing purple triangle. With each "upgrade" like the 4.0, this game gets another step closer to Star Wars: Galaxies and its demise.
  15. I'm going to get me one for Christmas. https://www.buymars.com/
