  1. Quick question about the Balmorra bonus series for the Republic -- the stage 3 bonus for the first series of bonus quests is a Heroic-4 quest, which I decided to skip in order to go on to the next series of bonus quests. If I joined a group later to do that quest, I'm assuming one of the following things would happen: a) The group I joined wouldn't be able to share the quest with me, although I'd get some XP/social points/dropped loot for helping them, or b) I'd get the bonus quest as a separate quest, and would get a separate reward for turning the quest in. Which is it? (I believe the second bonus series also has a Heroic bonus quest, and I assume the same thing would happen.) Thanks!
  2. Unfortunately, you can only add certain types of upgrades to an item with an augment slot. The ones you buy at the commendations vendor marked "enhancement", "mod", "armoring", "hilt", and "barrel" can only be used to upgrade orange (or purple) gear. With a green item with an augment slot, all you can do is add an "augment" upgrade. I have no idea where to purchase those from vendors if that's even possible -- I bought mine from crafters through the GTN.
  3. FWIW, you can access your cargo bay on most planets without heading all the way back to your ship. Look for the key icon on your map. Most planets have cargo bay access near the main spaceport, marketplace, and/or cantina. On Coruscant, you can take the stairs to your right or left as you walk towards the Senate building to enter a marketplace area. Cargo bay access is located near the GTN terminals, as I recall.
  4. I get the impression that the only armor set bonuses in the game are those for level 50 characters (Columi gear, Rakata gear, etc.) At least, those are the only armor set bonuses I can find any information on. Is this correct, or are my characters losing out for wearing mismatched gear?
  5. Well, that explains that. Thanks, everyone! My toons will be modding smarter now!
  6. I was going to ask a while ago if different pieces of orange armor with the same level (light/medium/heavy/adaptive) but identical armoring, mods, enchancements, and augments ended up with the same stats -- but, looking at earlier threads, it appears they do. Not only that, but they'll have the same stats as purple upgradable items if you put in enough purple mods. Which is nice -- my Sith Warrior can choose her hats based primarily on how they look now. Does the same apply for ranged weapons, though? Or do different models have inherently different tech power? None of the mods I add to a ranged weapon have bonuses to tech power explicitly listed.
  7. Are you underlevelled for the quest/planet you're on? I had this problem with the first quests on Nar Shaddaa with both my Trooper and my Sith Warrior characters. Then I realized I was about five levels too low, and I should go do Taris/Balmorra instead. Even if you are the right level for the quest, backtracking to do some easier quests or grouping to do some heroics might be a good way to get XP, money, and gear.
  8. Surely they could give PC droids some sort of passive ability (call it Shielded Circuits?) which would resist...whatever affects you're talking about (I don't do PvP and my highest level character is lvl 23, so I'm not 100% certain here.) I suppose game-play wise, a battle droid would work very much like a Trooper (ranged weapons, heavy armour, no Force), and putting romance into the story could only result in silliness, but I'd still be amused. Might even resub after the game goes f2p.
  9. No Star Wars-based RPG or FPS I'm aware of has let you play a droid as the primary player character. I'd love to see that change in a hypothetical SWTOR expansion or sequel. Who wouldn't want to play as an HK-series assassin droid or an inexplicably well-armed astromech?
  10. How does the XP scaling work? I had been assuming it would be scaled to the level of each character, at least as far as the final quest reward went.
  11. Hello all, If I'm not interested in crafting items, will I be fine going through the main quests using only the weapons and armor I buy or find? If so, what non-crafting crew skills would you recommend instead? (I'm thinking Slicing for the free money lying around, Diplomacy to buy light side points, and one other.) If it matters for a non-crafting strategy, I'm alternating between a Juggernaut and a Commando. Thanks again!
  12. Hello all, I'm alternating between a Republic Commando and a Sith Juggernaut, both levelled up to their early 20s toward the end of chapter 1. Partly to see how the story goes, and partly to practice playing, I'm planning to delay my trips to Nar Shaddaa and go back to the lower-level planets to finish some heroic quests. My question is -- if I'm ~10 levels higher than suggested for a heroic quest, should I just solo them? Or should I join a group with much lower level characters (passing on most of the loot, since I probably have better stuff)? Or is the whole idea a waste of time? Thanks in advance.
