  1. Yep. Ditto. I don't recall how many infractions I have for trying to defend this game, but that I have any at all is disheartening. And I did not resort to profanity or vulgarity in any of those posts. Your dysfunctional relationship analogy is spot on. I find myself logging into Rift more than this game now (I usually keep active subscriptions to a couple of games at a time). I do love this game, but something is amiss here.
  2. I have to agree with you. I did the dailies and raids for years in other games, and it was bearable because of the the variety of non-raid, non-daily content. And I say this as a huge fan of this game (SWTOR). I love the game. But I'm weary of raiding and combat-oriented dailies. Plus, I just don't have a regular play schedule to take advantage of that sort of content. What I'd like to see more of: Exploration - Sometimes it's fun to go places in the game just fof the heck of it. Puzzle Solving - Datacrons have been an excellent facet of this game. More puzzles / treasure hunting would be greatly welcomed. Achievements - I understand they are working on this. Hopefully, it will not unbalanced and include plenty of non-combat achievements and rewards. Fleshed-out crafting and gathering system - While it is a convenience to have companions gather, it really takes away any challenge in finding and mapping nodes, etc. Currently, is mostly automated and quite uninspiring. Special events - Like the rakghoul thing. Holidays / Festivals - I've always enjoyed these sorts of events. Lots of once a year quests, events, and achievements. Mini-games - Lots of folks have been asking for these. This game just begs for some sort of gambling mini-games on the Hutt planets. Pod racing holds the possibility of being multi-faceted, in that you can either race or spectate and bet. I suspect this may be difficult to implement, but still worth having on a wish list. Changing environment - I know some players don't really care about this, but I think it enhances the game to have day-night cycles and weather events. Dust storms on Tatooine. Blizzards on Hoth... etc.
  3. Several people have brought up player housing in this thread. I just read on mmorpg.com that Rift will be getting player housing this fall with the upcoming Storm Legion expansion. I think this is what, almost 2 years into the game? (Someone correct me if I'm mistaken). If that's something we want in SWTOR--I personally think it would be pretty cool--we should continue to nail our theses to BW's cathedral doors. With luck, we may also have something within two years of launch (hopefully sooner, of course).
  4. This is definitely a good idea.
  5. Agreed. I think BT/Esseles are, in fact, the most entertaining group instances I've played in any MMORPG.
  6. Ok, that's a real head-scratcher. 70-80% of the player base plays at off-peak times? Wouldn't the time that 70-80% are playing be the peak time? Help me out here.
  7. Actually, I experienced that problem to a lesser degree in WoW. The solution there was to install an addon (Power Auras). Like the above poster said, maybe tinker with the UI. It may help to move the quick bars closer to center of screen and then fade them so they're not too intrusive. Just enough to let you know when an ability is off cooldown.
  8. I lost my main toon name, an alt name, and my legacy name. And.... I'm not upset in the least. (and I participate in RP). Quite the contrary, I looked at it as an opportunity for story development. In this case, my main has ticked-off a prominant Hutt-Lord and unfortunately acquired a substantial bounty. So, she had to change her primary name and her family name (legacy). This has also endangered the rest of the family (could be kidnapped or used as bait) and so it was imperative to change the family name. Republic SI has assisted with the identity change and increased surveillance for protection. Just takes a little imagination.
  9. The important question, in my mind: will /ignore prevent you from being grouped (via LFG tool) with players on your poo-doo list?
  10. Looks like Ebon Hawk is the RP-PVE destination for al East Coasters. See you there!
  11. I'm on Rubat and the community has been talking about whether we're going to Ebon or coming to stay with you guys on Adraas. Most seem to think we're going to Ebon. Like you, I think there may be enough population for 2 East Coast RP-PVE servers.
  12. This is something that is definitely imbalanced in this game. The time investment to payoff ratio is a bit too long. The sweet spot is when it still feels like you had make some sustained effort but not so far off that it you eventually get tired and give up. If they could add an achievement system to the game, and some smaller, cheaper rewards to purchase, then that may bring things more into balance. Lower the cost of the Rakata gear (75-80 comms each) and the relics (120-150 comms each) and add a greater variety of less expensive items (consumables, pets, mounts, orange gear, etc.)
  13. How about: PVE PVP RP-PVE RP-PVP I still like the idea of segregating RP from non-RP. If not that, then some way for RPers to have their own fleet/planet instances.
