  1. yes, but when using Laze, the laser comes from the scope O.o. i personally prefer the BM/Rakata Sniper Rifle. If the scope was enlarged i think it'd be the most accurate representation of current models.
  2. All of that would be great, but i'd like to add have our Shield Probe scale from cunning and not power/tech power. absorbing roughly 1~2 auto-attacks (roughly 1.8k depending on stats) isnt all that great.

    ...wait...what? Snipers have strong melee abilities?? i'm just a bystander reading on what is proposed for operatives. my own opinion aside: what strong abilities do Snipers have? Shiv? my tooltip says is does 1.5k dmg (min/max). Debilitate (stun) 500 dmg. that's it. my Leg Shot (root) does more. ok, back to discussion. sorry for going off topic.

  6. I just have a quick question and I'm not trying to be condescending or rude. When you gear up only your sentinels for DPS. what happens when their damage gets adjusted and someone else takes the 'top' spot? you just geared up one class that may/or may not get a hefty nerf. it seems like it's a good short term plan, but a terrible long term plan for your guild. Also, you said you just finished HM EC, and now you have it on farm...you just finished it. how could it be on 'farm' now. It may be easier, but to my understanding, farm status is more or less you can bring in someone's alt and still be fine and you've completely out grown the content. If it's on 'farm status,' wouldn't you move onto Nightmare. I've only completed it on story mode (not enough tanks for group two to do it on HM), so I'm not hugely experienced. it's just from what i've gathered.

  9. Don't forget to add that Entrench will sometimes, irregularly, be cancelled with Diversion. Cover Pulse doesnt always knock targets back that have no resolve. Or When Cover Pulse does knock them back, due to server lag or something, knocks them the wrong way. Gotta love crouching, Stun, CP and they go flying into the goal line, even with correct positioning.
  10. i was thinking along the same lines. Snipe being used a bit too much. I'll be correcting that issue tonight, but i have to be careful when using orbital strike because of the length of the cast i often must have a DOT or instant-Snipe directly after to keep the fight active. Stupid training dummy. I use this build for both PVE and PVP. so the slow helps, but I've been considering the 30% slow vs the energy reduction. I'll end up re-speccing. it's hard to use Orbital Strike on CD with trying to keep up Interrogation Probe, Explosive Probe, Ambush, SoS and maintaining a Follow-through on CD. From what i remembered, the boss' have an innate 10% dodge chance. that's why I'm at 99.5% Accuracy. Prior to 1.2 i was sitting at 98.1% Accuracy. So if that's the case, being at 8% and not 10%, that's easily rectifiable. Thanks for the input,
  11. I'm also having some trouble maximizing my DPS. As it stands. I'm getting roughly 1129~1170 on average. I would greatly appreciate any help i could get. Build: Marks/Eng (25/16/0) Stats: Cunning: 1741 Aim: 114 Power: 567 Accuracy: 204 (99.67%) Critical: 207 (30.24%) Critical Multiplier 303 (75.37%) Combat Logs (Both CL's are roughly 9min in length, and i refrained from using any CD excluding Adrenaline Probe simply to find my sustained DPS, I'll be measuring my burst DPS at a later date) Only Self buffs (Rakata Skill Stim (112 Cunning, 46 Power), Coordination (5% critical)). As it stands i attempt to use FT at every opportunity. I'm thinking i could try and cut back on Snipe a bit more and replace it with either an OS, SS, EP, or CD. Note: i understand that there's a couple places to allocate points in that would help out, but i don't think that those would make that much of a difference. I PVP and PVE on a regular basis so Heavy Shots and Diversion are a must. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Something to help decide on Relics: I have been looking at relics recently -- specifically these three: Matrix Cube M7-R3 (72 cunning, 7 crit, 48 endurance) Rakata Relic of Boundless Ages (380 power for 20s duration/2 min cooldown, 77 endurance) Energy Surge Device (77 endurance, 30% chance on "damaging attack" to deal additional 224 kinetic damage) I performed a small comparison between these relics, which is linked at the bottom of this post. 1. Matrix Cube M7-R3 This relic is the simplest to model because it's just a static stat gain. 72 cunning (times 109% due to the Gearhead skill in 1st tier Engineering) is worth 15.7 bonus damage plus a little bit of crit. Assuming an average ability coefficient of 2.5, that's an average increase of 36 damage on each ability, plus the crit increase from 7 crit rating and 72(×109%) cunning (which is about 0.6% assuming a base of 1700 cunning and 200 crit rating), modified by our crit and surge and the target's mitigation. 2. Rakata Relic of Boundless Ages This one is also fairly simple to model. 380 power for 20s every 120s is 14.6 bonus damage. Then we can multiply by average ability coefficient and modify by crit, surge, and armor mitigation. The catch is that almost never will a fight last exactly 2, 4, 6, or 8 min -- so if a fight lasts for 4:30, for example, we'll get 3 full uses but not have had to wait through 3 full cooldowns. This means the simple duration-divided-by-cooldown method always results in the worst-case benefit; it will almost always be better (how much better depends on the fight length). In the calculations I linked below, I've included a "worst-cast" (4:00 fight duration) and a "best-case" (4:20 fight duration) result for this relic, and the resulting average is equal to averaging the results from fights of lengths 4:00, 4:20, 4:40, 5:00, 5:20, 5:40, and 6:00. 3. Energy Surge Device This is the fun one. It can't just be assumed to be 224 damage (modified by crit, armor, surge) every 4.5 seconds because that assumes it always procs immediately after its cooldown finishes. Of course, with a 30% proc rate that's not a very good assumption, so in the calculations linked below I set up a simulation that will model the random procs over 20,000 attacks and calculate the benefits, including crits and armor. I've assumed one "damaging attack" occurs every 1.5 seconds, but I am not sure about which abilities count as "damaging attacks" (DoT applications? DoT ticks? Only ranged attacks?), so the calculation can accept any period between attacks to simulate in case someone else has a better idea about what can proc it. (Note that more frequent attacks also increase the benefit from the other two relics.) The results vary because of the random procs in the simulation (but typically not by more than +/- 0.5 DPS), so repeatedly pressing DELETE on one of the empty cells re-ran the sim over and over to allow a decent estimation of the average result. The Results Matrix Cube M7-R3 = 27.8 DPS Rakata Relic of Boundless Ages = 29.6 DPS Energy Surge Device = 29.1 DPS In summary, they're all close enough where we won't see any measurable difference on typical fights.   14. except the EP~Ambush~FT~Snipe doesnt eat our entire energy pool. So it's not really blowing everything, and Ambush more or less depends on build. Top it all off, a lot of Sniper will notice the little glow around them.
