  1. My Sniper spec is Marksman. I think most people perceive it as underpowered, weak, and unhelpful. I think it is just the right combination of pure single target death dealing and personal survival. It is not a glass cannon. It takes a lot to kill a smart Marksman and that Marksman will make you pay for ever pixel of healthbar in the process.
  2. I've been very annoyed with the lack of around the corner cover. They had it and demostrated it over a year before the game even released, so where did it go? Of course cover has gone through huges numbers of changes. I miss being able to see all cover locations, being able to choose exactly which cover point to roll into just by moving the camera. I never even got to see the ability to switch from cover location to cover location without leaving cover. Something that was in the same demo as wall cover.
  3. OMG! It's finally happened! We must be doing something right, someone finally things we're OP! Wait... he was talking about snipers, right? Cause that's what the OP was talking about, not Operatives who can turn invisible at the drop of a hat already.
  4. Sorry, but apparently YOU don't know what uninterruptable means. As an Assassin you should be aware of the purpose of the power Jolt. This is your interrupt. It allows you to interrupt channeled abilities and stop them from happening again for 4 seconds. While you have Harnessed Darkness on that power and all the ones like it won't work on your lightning. There are, of course, other ways to interrupt a power other than using the interrupt, and until you can prevent yourself from being CCed those other methods will still work. As for your other problem. Stuns don't break on damage unless the power specifically says they do. Again, as an assassin you will note that Whirlwind breaks on damage, but Electricute does not.
  5. You know... I really can't recall anymore if I shield on yellow or only white. There have been times I've noticed no change in my Dark Ward. I've been operating under the impression that nothing could bypass shields accept a crit. If that's not the case then that is jut stupid and needs to be fixed.
  6. Just because you're no good at it, doesn't make the class a failure. Plenty of other people are doing it with no down turn. Perhaps you're not geared properly, or are buffing the wrong ratings over others. Not my faut. This was said specifically in the blog, as well as displaying in the group finder, that Teir 1 and Teir 2 are separate. All FP excluding Lost Island for 5 a day, and then Lost Island on its own for 5 also. Try it, you might learn something.
  7. There is no such thing as an attack that can't be defended NOR shielded. Weapon attacks can be defended allowing for 100% mitigation, if they fail that they can then be shielded against allowing for (absorbtion rate) mitigation. Force and Tech attacks can't be defended, but they CAN be shielded. The only way to bypass shield is to have a rediculously high crit chance since only one of those can happen, either you shield or they crit or neither occurs. Since mobs don't crit, as far as I know, you don't have to worry about them bypassing your shield. What the Dev said is that not many of those bosses actually use weapon attacks meaning they can ONLY be shielded. Well, I'll break it to you, if you are stacking your defense over your shield and absorb as an assassin you're doing it wrong. There is no such thing as a defense tank in this game. You NEED aborb and because of Dark Ward you have more shield chance than any other tank is capable of having. This is why some of these tankassins aren't having any issues. They're still mitigating those force and tech attacks like crazy because more than half the attack are doing a fraction of the damage they're supposed to be doing. Oh, and they also heal themselves still. Tankassins were obsenely powerful, able to mitigate just as much as every other tank, if geared right, AND they had self heals. Now they mitigate less and heal less, but are still rediculous if you actually know what you're doing. So for easy reference, so you actually understand how the mechanics work: 1) Defense vs Accuracy = hit or miss, only relevant to weapon attacks. 2) Shield vs Critical = Surge, Absorb or a normal hit, this goes across all types of attacks. 3) Expertise vs Expertise = Yours over Theirs times your damage Each of those is calculated in that order for each attack.
  8. This, Tankassins were as good as any other tank without the self heal, AND they could self heal. I'm still destroying +3 level elites as a matter of course post 1.3 so I really can't imagine what any of you are complaining about. We were obsenely powerful before the nerf, and we're still rediculous after it. They do not. They are specifically separate so you can do them both, IF you can do them both.
  9. The change to Sniper Volley and Rapid Fire is changing from great but completely unreliable energy regen plus the use of the most powerful attack three times in a row to using your two bread and butter attacks more often in general, plus a much more reliable energy regen because it happens when you need it, not whenever it happens to tick.
  10. Actually, I picked 40% because that's a good percent chance to leave off at. Yes it can keep going up, but you'll still crit a lot and by then it's better to have a higher base value to add your surge value to than to be able to crit more often.
  11. They're all good. Followthrough is amazing. I really like the new look of Takedown, though I can't really figure out what's happening there. I very much like that Series of Shots actually plays out all four shots now so you can actually time it by sound. I've always thought the bolt action with the energy weapon was silly, but I'd never want to see them take it away. I do, however, unlike these others, prefer it to actually sound like it is not firing a projectile weapon when it is not. So I'm in favor of that too. As for those of you confused about the machinegun quality of your sniper cull. Have none of you used Supressive Fire? What's that one about? Also, just to go a bit off topic, what exactly is supressive about supressive fire? In what way does it supress the things being fired at by it, especially when they get out of the little circle you're firing at, despite wading through the cone of bolts that is continuing to fly at them. 1 of/or 2 things should be happening. Supressive Fire should be a cone, not a placed circle. Supressive Fire should be a slow.
  12. Definately Imperial Officer's which is the exact same rifle and skin as the Athiss rifle. Or the Custom Built Sniper Rifle, which is the same rifle with a more subdued skin. That's the one I currently use exclusively.
  13. Full MM is and has always been the only way for me. It's the only spec that acts, looks and feels like a sniper. Plus it kicks ***.
  14. It's a bug. It has only ever happened to me through Series of Shots, but yeah... it happens. Report it and hope it gets fixed.
  15. I didn't really notice a difference. I actually felt like I was doing better than I have before. I still tear through trash like it's not there and we've been downing bosses in record time. I feel that Snipers, especially Marksman have been getting buffed across the board. Except you're also using SoS more often in general now. It may only have been 3 seconds, but 3 seconds is huge when it's your highest damage power.
