  1. I have an active subscription with SWTOR that just renewed via SWTOR.com for several months. If I wanted to switch to a Steam SWTOR Subscription, would I have to wait until the SWTOR.com subscription expired or would Steam detect my current sub via SWTOR.com? Could I buy a Steam Sub a week or so before my SWTOR.com sub expires so that there's no gap? Many Thanks! P.S. Welcome Home To Steam, SWTOR.
  2. excess command tokens gets you a fresh set of 230 gear, which you can then use to either put into a set of legacy gear for each advanced class or gear each toon specifically. If you run cz-198, black hole, and section x on multiple fresh 70s, you'll get to like command rank 20-30 on each of them, so that's 20-30 crates/tokens, which adds up fast. If you just want a lot of tokens, that's faster than just grinding 1 toon to 300, since each galactic command level increases the amount of galactic command experience it takes to gain a galactic command level and you have lockouts on the weekly missions.
  3. Under 64 works, I have several EU servers at ~15/64, I capped off on buying 40 server slots previously. So if you capped off on the 40 server character slots and you're under 64, you can transfer a toon to that server. Under 100, but above 64, does NOT work to transfer. You can test yourself for free by making a level 1 on a server and then try transferring to a different server where you have 99 (or 64+). It will fail and refund you your cartel coins. And yeah, I really think they need to hold off on increasing the cost of server transfers until this server character slot issue is resolved in some way. If you had just ~15 characters on each of the 5 previous east coast us servers, you're already above the current max 64 cap and if you had just 5 characters on each of the 5 previous east coast servers, you're already above the current default subscriber cap of 24 per server. So I imagine there are a lot of players who had multiple legacies across multiple servers who now are basically unable to transfer anywhere due to the wonky server slot issue. Moreover, say your currently on satele shan with 70 characters and you want all of them, you cannot transfer all 70 to star forge even if you have 0 on star forge, you'd only be able to transfer 64 max. So for people who wanted to transfer their entire legacies, this is an issue for sure.
  4. Already posted in another thread, but reply may be more relevant in this thread: I tried transferring a toon from EU to both Satele Shan and Star Forge, both failed. Star Forge is at ~130ish, so well above the new "100" cap, but Satele Shan also failed, which is only at 94, under the new "100" cap. cc was auto-refunded and status under character transfer history was marked as "failed" for both. I previously deleted a toon off of Satele Shan to try to free up a slot for a transfer, but the character count just went from 95/95 to 94/94. Further details on this issue here, dev team aware, but if there isn't going to be a patch before 12/12, then if/when they address the wonky server slot issue, character transfers will be back up to 1000cc+ As of right now, the only solution seems to be deleting toons down to 63 so that you're at 63/64 and can receive a transfer on a particular server, which really isn't a solution at all if you have to delete any toons just to do a transfer. Alternatively, you could blow thousands of cc transferring 80+ toons (assuming you had 20-30 somewhat leveled characters from multiple servers) to other servers til you get under 64, but you wouldn't be able to get those toons back. Both of these solutions assume you've already capped off on 40 paid "Server Character Slot" items. Additionally in terms of the slots themselves, I'm not even sure if you're at say 66 toons and they fix the character slots to go up to 100, that you'd have to buy 1 "Server Character Slot" to go from 66/66 to 66/67 or if you'd have to buy 3 "Server Character Slots" to go to 66/67 because the previous cap was 64/64 and you didn't get to 66/66 "naturally" via buying extra slots, but you got there due to the overflow from other servers. Right now, looks like it's leaning towards you'd have to buy 3, since if you're at say 66/66 right now and delete a toon, you'll go down to 65/65, not 65/66 Since there's clearly no hard restriction to total character limit per server now, with some people having well over 150 toons on a single server, they need to allow character transfers regardless of any free slots, but just continue to block creation of new characters on a server until the cap is under 100. Or just raise the server cap to 350 characters or whatever to match the global character limit. TL;DR, Character transfers are broken for players who are above 64 characters on a server. Possible solutions: >Remove "free slot" requirement for transferring characters >Increase subscriber slots from 24 to 60 with a brief maintenance, thereby avoiding having to fix/patch the "Server Character Slot" item. >Fix "Server Character Slot" item to cap off at 76 instead of 40 to cap off each server at 100, requiring players to cap off server character slots and deleting additional toons to get under 100 before transferring. >Fix "Server Character Slot" item to cap off at 326 instead of 40 to cap off each server at ~350/global character limit. This would allow people to just load up on server character slots without having to delete any overflow characters on a server currently over the 100 "cap." >Remove "Server Character Slot" item from Cartel Market and manually raise every subscriber account's character limit to 100 or 350 per server
  5. This is why they should have just increased the galactic command cap to 400, because by keeping it at 300 after they made the changes to increased chances of better gear at higher levels, it basically left you at "level 1" of tier 4 indefinitely, with the worst chances for the best gear. Unless they change that and increase the cap to 400, your best bet is to save tier 2/3 legendary gear to trade in/upgrade later on, since it will at least save you some components from not having to buy the initial 236 legendary pieces off the vendors.

  7. Is there any chance that the Cartel Market "Server Character Slot" items will be fixed with this update? They're currently capped to 40 max + 24 as a sub = 64 max, despite the last patch apparently making the max characters per server 100. This had led to a situation where if you have an overflow of say ~70-80 characters, there's no way to: create a new character or transfer a new character to the server without first deleting 10-20 characters to get down to 63/64 characters. Factoring in the 24 slots for subscribers by default, I imagine the "Server Character Slot" items should be increased from 40 to 76 to cap off at 100 per server? Also, will there be any discount on the "Server Character Slot" items? As it is now, if you're a subscriber with 100+ toons on a server, you'd need to delete a bunch to get down to 99/100, then assuming you already previously purchased 40 "Server Character Slots," you'd still need to buy another 36 "Server Character Slots" just to be able to transfer a character to the server. 1 Character Slot = 600cc 36 Character Slots = 21,600cc (~$160 in cc just to be able to transfer a character to a server)
  8. I normally get ~55ms on the west coast servers and >90ms on east coast servers. After Tuesday's server stuff, I'm getting ~75ms on west and east coast. I'm not sure if this is the way forward or what or temporary ping issues. That said, I would definitely be AGAINST a SINGLE mega server for the U.S., since the second it goes down, you won't be able to play it AT ALL. Normally when Harbinger goes down, you can just switch to another server to play, but if there's just one server, then you basically can't play at all. If something like that happens regularly, then why even pay a sub? Now, for ping issues Alone, I'd be okay with the 2 NA Megaservers being located say in Austin, TX where the BWA HQ is. Ideally, however, they need to resolve whatever issues they're having (even if that means getting another datacenter in california) and have a strictly west coast and a strictly east coast server.
  9. friend mentioned to me bastion was being weird, so I went over there, logged into an old lowbie, no problems, but then I made a new toon, mid intro convo, booted back to character select screen. I clicked play on that new toon again, same issue, booted back to character select screen. tried to delete toon, can't. location of the toon is "space." Tried to load again "Error Finding Codex: 0" on the load screen, then booted back to character select. It looks like just Bastion. BC and Harbinger seem fine. Restarted client a couple times, same issue, friend also having the same issues, so definitely something wrong with Bastion. inb4 rollbacks
  10. Looking at the tor status site that tracks the server population, the most logical merges would be: -Harbinger Main West Coast....merge Bastion/Begeren Colony into Harbinger -Ebon Hawk Main East Coast...merge Prophecy of the Five/Jung Ma/The Shadowlands/Jedi Covenant into Ebon Hawk Then similar to what happened in June 2012, give free transfers to Harbinger/Ebon Hawk for a month or two, then force transfer any remaining accounts that don't move over. Though, they would probably need to find a way to transfer over the contents of legacy storage/etc. stuff that currently don't transfer over. I could see the merit of having a 3rd server with just Begeren Colony/Ebon Hawk/Jung Ma as an "RP" server, but they basically got the short end of the stick during the last "merge" of playstyle types, so I'm not sure if the population across all 3 of those servers is large enough to justify it. Though, a good compromise if they went with Harbinger/Ebon Hawk...West/East servers would be if they added an "RP" phase to switch to, that also included the fleet/starter worlds/etc. Again though, not sure if the RP population in the game would be large enough to justify that. Regardless of the little details, I absolutely would want at a minimum, dedicated West and East, because higher ping for just 1 server would not be worth it and a huge turn off. There are other MMOs that have just 1 megaserver and the ping is basically terrible for half or more of the playerbase. 1 NA server would basically ruin PVP, high end raiding, and any other activities where fractions of a second make the difference. It would also make ping even worse for the asia pacific players if say harbinger was merged into some east coast/midwest server.
  11. You may need to open up your map and check the box to enable Exploration Missions (side quests) if you haven't already, as some of the side quests tend to fill the gaps for gear. Overall though, you're probably best off doing heroics repeatedly til you get every slot filled (except mainhand weapon) as you're leveling. It's especially great XP right now due to the event and fast gearing. If you don't want to level too fast, you can also buy a token on the fleet to suppress the extra XP from the event, but still get gear from the heroics. You can also search the GTN for different pieces to buy. Also, for a list of rewards, you mentioned swtor-spy, which is pretty good, you can also check out the tor community site or dulfy, both have some guides pertaining to mission rewards.
  12. Rage Juggernaut/Fury Marauder are definitely bloated specs, but those are the only 2 specs for the warrior class that really seem overly bloated, to me at least. This is largely because they created another ability to do the exact same thing as force sweep, but single target instead of aoe (due to the pvp complaints people had about the spec in the 2.x era). Returning the damage to the aoe and removing the single target ability entirely would help greatly with bloat for that spec, especially now that nearly every class has a 30% AOE DR utility to spec into. I'm not seeing the same bloat for Infiltration Shadow/Serenity Shadow, however, as both specs lost 3 base class abilities (telekinetic throw/mind crush/phase walk) in the last major update.
