  1. I completely agree with the article. I've said all along that this game feels much like DCUO did. It was fun while leveling up but then once you hit "end-game" the serious lack of depth starts to set in and the game becomes stale quickly. At this point I'm just waiting for my sub to run out. I'm actually having more fun playing a free to play game at the moment and it has much more depth than swtor. It looks like GW2 is the next big hope.
  2. The only real nightmare mode is when the encounter bugs kick in. There's your challenge!
  3. It has bugged for us prior to 12 turns. It has bugged for us even though we always let south finish first. We always determine the optimal turn sequence for both sides prior to starting the fight but that makes no difference. We aren't making mistakes, everyone is aware of what needs to be done, everyone is communicating on vent. This fight is bugged and just because some people have been lucky and think "oh standing on my head is what made the difference" does not mean they have figured out the magic secret, yet people still come in here and give anecdotal evidence. This is just like the old Onyxia fight in vanilla WoW where people would try to come up with the reason for when she would deep breathe on people. People had all kinds of reasons based on what they had experienced. In the end it was finally revealed that it was completely random. This encounter is no different (except that it's freaking glitched). We've had weeks where we've finished on the first try with no problems, and weeks where it would continuously break. This encounter is glitched plain and simple.
  4. lol some people won't know what that means either :-P
  5. Actually it is the issue being discussed. It's obvious that people have different ways of calling directions in WZs and it is causing issues as these people are interpreting these "directions" differently. The goal should be to use the most commonsense and universal terms that will correctly state a direction. The debate is whether left/right, or east/west achieves this. I stand by the statement that N/S/E/W covers these concerns universally no matter what map you are on and without any question of where these directions are on a map. This of course requires a person to know how to tie their shoe. It's apparent that we will never come to an agreement on this so the bickering and QQing will continue both here and in-game. Such is life in an MMO.
  6. Because left is a relative direction of travel based on where you are facing. If I look at the in-game map and say "left" then I am of course referring to west. The problem is that some people aren't using this same definition. This then leads to all of the confusion that we are now discussing. Treat the in-game map as you would any real-life map where the four sides correspond to a compass and all questions of direction are taken care of. People should be using the in-game map regularly anyway just to see where people are and to determine which areas may need more coverage.
  7. I'll have a gps to use. Luckily you have this same basic "GPS" in form of an in-game map that happens to show where you and all of your teammates are. Now do you need me to move your mouse for you too?
  8. And you still count using your fingers. Seriously, are you that dense to not understand directions? North/South/East/West can all be determined by simply pressing the 'M' key. If you can't get that then there is no help for you in this game or real life.
  9. The problem is people don't know east from west and how to look at a map. Nothing more, nothing less.
  10. The problem is most people aren't even looking at the map and are calling right and left based on their spawn, which happens to be the opposite of east and west in many cases. Thus just switching to the standard of saying east or west will eliminate all problems for those that actually know their azz from a hole in a ground.
  11. I would love to see this conversation in a real military situation. Sergeant: Ok squad, we're going to head north two clicks and then start moving to the east. Private numbnuts: But sarge, do you mean to go left or right from our base? Sergeant: Private dip*****, since when did left or right become a valid option on a map or battlefield? If you dopes are going to be calling left or right, as least use it in the context of the actual map. Then when you look at a map to see what is going on it will actually make sense. Whoever came up with the idea of Left or Right being relative to a spawn needs to be slapped. Of course intelligent people will continue to say east/west.
  12. /facepalm. Compass directions are viable anywhere in life (as well as any swtor map). Open your map... top is north, left is west, right is east, bottom is south. Here is the kicker... this is true for every map! Tough concept to grasp for people I know. It seems there is a group of people that would rather make up their own directions based on spawn positions and somehow think that's easier. I'll just continue to ignore people that say "Inc Left/Right". Chances are they don't know what they are doing in pvp anyway.
  13. Or again just use East/West which are universally understood and self-explanatory for anyone that is out of elementary school. I just don't understand why people are still arguing against this point.
