  1. Well, at $0.20/hr (assuming 30 days/month, $15/month sub), I think it is safe to say that no, they likely won't be mailing out checks any time soon. At best, we all might get a day added to our subscription. But maybe we could let them handle the more important part of getting the server up first, and ending the outage, before deciding that this is a world-encompassing catastrophe that will spell doom for civilization. Go watch Netflix and chill, folks....
  2. I just tried logging in. Started at 100, down to 82, up to 131, then the client crashed. Server pop. went from showing "heavy" on that login to "light" on subsequent logins. There is definitely something afoot, and it doesn't seem to be on the user side of things.
  3. It would be nice to have a bit more freedom in the space portion of the game. Thought: crew skill - Exploration: upon mission completion the crew member can locate a planet to be checked out. The new planet would be a solo instance (drawn from a pool). Kinda like the Torchlight maps (for those that played it). You get a quick little solo run, a half decent reward (not great, but enough to make it worth doing). Downside is that new art assets would be needed.
  4. I can understand limiting the number of crew skill mission per day or per week. I can also get behind the idea of severely limited GTN slots to sell with (LOTRO allows F2P 2 slots, I think, on the AH. More available for $, for example). This will prevent - or at least greatly slow - any great influx of material. I can't see why *buying* from the GTN would be limited, though. The more F2P buy, the better it would be for paying subs, who will be the ones filling the GTN.
  5. Just had a convo with another player, and they asked if I was the same character from a different server (transfers, y'know). I said I was, and they mentioned how I had controlled the GTN and some players would refuse to buy from me due to my behaviour. What behaviour? I would buy out and relist small quantities of items. Yes, at a higher price, but generally no more than the top-end of the range. As for "controlling the GTN", I had to laugh. With only 50 listings (I only have 1 GTN mule), I found it pretty much impossible to magically control the GTN. I had a few areas I focused on (gathered mats), and made good coin just buying low / selling high. I'd check out other areas for outliers (base price 22 mod? Orange belt / wrists for 5k? Yay!). The whole thing struck me as very odd. I was, by no means, the most active seller on the server. this sort of thing happen to anyone else?
  6. Depending on the item, I may drastically undercut, too. Each item in your inventory is taking up space - space that could be filled by something more profitable. On some things - items I get at base value, for instance - I can often under cut by an easy 20% and still make a big handful of creds. It also frees up that inventory slot for the next item. If you have to keep relisting, you're losing money - the inventory and GTN slot could be filled by something that sells. Instead, it gets filled with a non-moving item. I recommend reading the Greedy Goblin blog archives for a lot of fun reading about this. Much fun.
  7. Best orange (a belt) I found was for 923 credits. Found many other 'base price' purples, but the belt resold for 250k, so I would say it wins.
  8. $0. Works fine for me. I found load times a bit much, but I recently bought an SSD (unrelated to SWTOR performance) and did a full reinstall of Win7-64. i've found the game to be much more responsive and faster to load (and exit from) since.
  9. Interesting.... I've just started a Commando, and have been looking for ideas about a levelling spec, ideally allowing me to solo with relative ease and do some light Heroic / FP healing. Did you go up the Gunnery tree first, or CM? i've already allocated my first 3 points to the Aim bonus, as it seemed to be the biggest bang for the buck. Beyond that, though, I'm kind of at a crossroads...
  10. If what is posted in the General section of a games forum is indicative of the quality of the game and health of the company, then by that measure, WoW is an even worse game while Blizzard losses billions of dollars daily.
