  1. You should have been there way back in beta when all Scoundrel scattergun attacks knocked enemies down. Edit: Actually I had a video of it:
  2. Like a lot of other people on this section of the board I am taking a peek at the game after an extended absence (try 2 years). I had a lot of the same questions but from perusing this board most of them have been answered. However I have no idea what to expect when logging in after the game is done downloading. After years of changes what can I expect? For example: I'll be logging into a level 50 that has been sitting since before the free2play change - when things like hot bars disappeared, crew skills changed, etc. Where will my level 50 be? What do I need to do first to acclimate myself or take advantage of a past account? Has gear changes made my gear obsolete and I'll need to find more to do simple content? I'm sure someone has been in these same shoes in the past, I just haven't stumbled across a telling of their experience.
  3. First they came for the Scoundrels/Operatives and I said nothing...
  4. I fear for the class that is next month's witch hunt, I really do. I hope they don't enjoy their PvE endgame, at least.
  5. A lot of discussion centers around nerfing classes here on the PvP board. Not a problem - after all you can sometimes find valuable information to consider in the cartoonish dustup every now and then. What I have noticed however is that a lot of people seem to forget there is another side to the game while here on the PvP forums - an unarguably larger side to the game. That of course being the PvE game with things such as flashpoints and operations. Different strokes for different folks and all that - everyone should be able to enjoy the aspect of the game they like most. In the past I did not pay this much mind, but with the advent of the PTR patch 1.1 patch notes things have taken a worrying turn. It seems that despite what I thought earlier, Bioware will push through changes to classes in response to player-vs-player combat only without regard to the impact it would have on PvE content. It would seem unthinkable a couple days ago, but there you have it. So I ask all of you: Please keep the entirety of the game in mind when submitting ideas for class changes in the future, as my faith that Bioware is doing so is severely shaken. Thank you.
  6. You mean they called you out on your trolling. This is like when that guy got outed on the WoW boards by responding to himself on separate characters.
  7. MMMmm server experience is certainly the same for every person on every server at all times. MMMmm the game being unplayable and crashing to desktop is indeed a teeny minor gripe. Anyway. Glad you had fun with it.
  8. When I was on Voss the quest that had you confront King Jokul, and learn all about the Gormak visions and get sent in front of the Voss tribunal, simply was not there. You blow up the giant cannon - and then nothing. I asked around and other people were having the same issue. Thankfully I had done it in beta and knew what was going on. Yet for the people who had not done it in beta, the story picks up in the Nightmare Lands where they talk all about Jokul and Gormak visions and whatnot, and if a player had not done the quest before they would be completely lost. Is that issue still there? That is worse than the OP!
  9. When your group gets to a boss or miniboss, watch the boss' animations. They will do a "Whats that in the distance?" look, and you will see a giant targeting circle appear over the stealth class. They then have about 2 seconds to back off or the group will aggro.
  10. Ranged dps will always be wanted, since the encounters are considerably easier with it. Healers are always great too, though. I would get a feel for what is lacking in your groups before gearing up.
  11. These are not "some" cases, you are describing most of the raid content in the game. Add to that the turrets at the beginning of EV. Also add in the fact that there are strict enrage timers and melee spends too much time running between targets (not every melee class has a gap closer).
  12. If you were lucky, you could use a grenade twice in a warzone - maximum. Unless the cooldowns were reduced to match a damage reduction, I see no point in keeping cybertech for PvE as a level 50 character.
  13. I ask because there sure is a lot of drawbacks to having mostly melee dps, and after a frustrating night tonight in hardmode EV I want to know if Bioware has acknowledged this as an issue or not. With strict enrage timers the amount of things that melee have to STOP DPSing for run away from is making them feel like a liability and we all feel like if only we had ranged dps we would have a much easier time. We did not reach Soa, but I know for sure he will be impossible with our group who have to run across the entire room to dps mindtraps. Don't know what to tell them - "Sorry guys, Bioware tested this with 5 commandos"?
  14. Look for a droid in the Galactic Market sector on the Fleet.
