  1. After getting my Powertech all the way to level 45, I was more than a little nonplussed to find that the armor featured in the Bounty Hunter wallpaper wasn't in the game. It was even shown on the player during development. Now I don't know why you excluded it from the player base, but since it is already in the game why not make it a cartel market set? I'm sure plenty of us Bounty Hunter players who prefer Boba's beat up style of armor would pick it up. Here's the armor in-game below. http://i804.photobucket.com/albums/yy327/Adamant19/Whatisthis_zpsc8f09574.png
  2. Drat, none of my characters are artifice. Hopefully peeps will try to sell some dyes on the galactic market....and at a reasonable price.
  3. Smuggler is easily the worst hands down. The story fails on many levels to capture the Han Solo feel, and it completely lacks any sense of gravity. The story feels utterly trivial.
  4. You want a rifle? Roll Agent then. There's never been a better time considering the buffs they've received. Plus, they practically have Boba's carbine too....which I might add was probably some trolling on Bioware's part.
  5. Where to begin. Well for starters yes Commandos can use rifles, but at the cost of gimping their dps. Vanguard dps builds are the same as Powertech builds, in that their dps is performed at melee or close to melee range. The best vanguard/powertech dps builds don't use knives though, instead they rely on High Impact Bolt and Rail Shot along with Flame Burst or Stock Strike/Rocket Punch. This is still fairly close range though. Now Commandos and Mercs are both decent enough dps for pve, but the'yre markedly inferior to the latter AC's in regards to pvp. On the matter of story, I've brought Trooper and Bounty Hunter past Chapter 1 of their class story. In my opinion, the Trooper wins hands down. The story is much more consistent and of higher quality. The biggest flaws of the Bounty Hunter story lie with Mako's irrational writing, and the inability to play a believable light side character. On a side note, if you roll a Bounty Hunter be prepared to look like absolute crap until level 34. That's when you finally start getting armor reminiscent of the character the class is based on. Roll a Trooper, and you'll look like you're right out of the Clone Wars at just level 15/16. For a better idea of what to expect, here's a very vague story synopsis... Trooper Act 1 - Track down and capture/kill traitors to the Republic. Similar to the Bounty Hunter Act 1, this is a very personal endeavor. Trooper Act 2 - Replenish Havoc Squad's ranks in preparation for taking down an experimental Imperial superweapon which threatens to turn the tide of war in the Empire's favor. Trooper Act 3 - Stop an Imperial General as he wages all out war on a number Republic/Neutral worlds. Bounty Hunter Act 1 - Win the Great Hunt, and take revenge. Bounty Hunter Act 2 - Hunt down bounties on the elite Black List. (For the most part this feels like filler) Bounty Hunter Act 3 - Surprise, there's another revenge plotline.
  6. Oh please. As if Karen Traviss hadn't already run roughshod over the entire lore of Star Wars, established characters, and her fellow writers in the legacy series. Her so called "work" being heavily edited/retconned is the LEAST she deserves. Moreover, the Clone Wars only presented solid themes which had already been established. The Mandalorians are warmongering thugs, the Death Watch didn't change that. The fact their civilization has changed enough to sustain a new regime like the Duchess Satine's provided some much needed variety to the Mandalorians and their history. Back to the topic at hand, I too am sorry to see the Clone Wars go. It was a really splendid addition to the canon, and it was great to see so many familiar faces not to mention new ones like Cad Bane. Honestly by cancelling so many current Star Wars projects like the Clone Wars, and Star Wars 1313 it seems as if Disney is trying to wash their hands of the old saga entirely. Maybe they think it'll help sell their reboot of the franchise, can't say I understand the logic they're using to be honest. You'd think any quality Star Wars production would only be a good thing, to help keep the fans/audience energized before the release of the trilogy.
  7. Keep in mind I haven't played all the classes yet, but I'll rate what I've experienced. 1. Trooper- Solid story, with a sharp beginning that grabs a hold of you. It may not necessarily surprise you but it's consistently well told. 2. Smuggler- It's a very casual and humorous story, which will take some getting used to after the much more serious and dramatic tone featured in the other class stories. The dialogue and one-liners are great however, as is the quest to claim a hoard of treasure. 3. Bounty Hunter- Make no mistake, I really wanted to like this class. It begins well enough, but becomes less and less consistent as the story progresses. On the starting planet for example, you can believe it's possible to be a light side bounty hunter. One with a moral code. Just as you can believe it's possible for Mako to be such a sweet person despite the seemingly ruthless profession. The final climactic battle of the Great Hunt however as you fight your way to the bridge aboard the Aurora completely destroys that belief. Worse yet, you end up filling Darth Maul's shoes in a way as your destroy a Jedi Master in the presence of his padawan. Where other Imperial Classes manage to make a believable story regardless of moral alignment, the Bounty Hunter story only makes sense played as a villain.
  8. In pvp mobility is very important, so Vanguard is naturally a better class. In addition, the Harpoon ability is extremely useful especially in Hutt Ball. If you're DPS you'll use the combustible gas cylinder (fire) and if you're a tank you'll use the ion gas cylinder (lightening, blue color). Personally I get by pretty well with a straight tank spec, but we'll see how that changes when I hit 50. Best of luck.
  9. The armor from the neck down is already in the game. The helmet is too, but it's bugged right now and you don't see it when you wear it. Hopefully Bioware will fix this glitch soon. You can get the helmet through Nar Shadda commendations if you're interested.
  10. No clue if it's actually in the game to be honest, for player use anyway. Similar to you, I've seen an armor on an NPC that's cool looking, but can't find the the player equivalent.
  11. My Bounty Hunter was light side before I deleted him. Tip for newcomers, don't roll light side. It makes no sense what so ever, and you'll just be disgusted with the character you've made.
  12. Trooper Bounty Hunter gear looked good, especially the BH.
  13. Well I got my chest piece off the cartel market for cheap, it's the green one with the pauldrons. It's quite nice. Coupled with this helmet(hammer station headgear) from the Hammer Station flashpoint, I look like one of the clones stationed on Kaskyyyk. And I'm only level 17! Trooper armor progression is MILES better compared to the Bounty Hunter class.
  14. Before I threw in the towel on the poorly put together Bounty Hunter story, yes Mako did affect my choices. For example I let her decide the fate of the Assassin on Nar Shadda.
  15. Well to clear the air some, the Scoundrel is a close to medium range class FYI. That's why their best attacks are melee, or focus on their scattergun. You're meant to be mobile and close to the fighting. This mobility, coupled with stealth makes for a much more effective fighter in pvp than the latter AC. Now if you prefer to play a ranged caster, then you would choose the gunslinger. As for what roles/players are most valued, that would easily be healer or tank. There's already plenty of DPS, and for the most part people prefer their DPS to be more mobile. Still, if you find Gunlinger the most fun you should stick with it. You don't want to level a class you don't enjoy after all.
