  1. Activision is on the same level actualy - they don't bother patching the things they've messed up and abandon their titles exactly 1 year after. The thing is that today the gaming industry is ruled by people who are buisnessmans not a gamers at all. Hopefully this bubble will explode some day and we will back to the place where games were created from love to gaming, not from love to money as life has proven that even games with low budged can be far more entertaining than so called "AAA titles" with milions of dollars budget. I believe if BW had free hand at making SWTOR they wouldn't copy WoW at all and the game would go live 1 or even 2 years later. It's a miracle they actualy convinced EA for voice acting (which is a very nice feature but overall is considered useless @ long runs in MMO genre) - today sadly there are very few who are willing to experiment.
  2. You're completely missing the point with this post. Arenanet doesn't get any money if players play or not - if players are not playing it's even better for them (less cost to keep up servers running). They only get money from retail box (which was little over half price of SWTOR to be precise) - and BW got outrageous of money from retail boxes + subscribers. Even when subscribers don't play. BW has to work hard everyday to keep that subscribers in place if they want BONUS money.
  3. I understand EA haters - what they did to WHO is UNACCEPTABLE. What they're doing to their other games is unacceptable too. They're making good games overall but they didn't learn yet that if game went to shops already and it's not polished/finished they will have to do this after release which seems to hurt them very, very much because they're avoiding it as hell. There are so many examples of this. The one why I might hate them is what they did to BF series for example. BF2 was patched properly few years after release. BF3 is over half year after release yet still they can't patch some basic issues and bugs. It's very wide story for another topic - although it's acceptable (which should be anyway) in SP, MP games in one or the other way, it's completely unacceptable in MMO market.
  4. I live too long on this world and played too many games before to believe this "factual" data when my eyes see completely diffrent - by the way I didn't say subs are decreasing. I said that active players number is going downhill with epic speed. Also when I give examples from the past (Age of Conan? Warhammer Online? Anyone got lightbulbs over their heads? No?) I'm considered hater, troll, antifan. O rly? Please be yesman elsewhere, beyond my favourite hobby especialy if it features my favourite universe. (see analogy? same as "you don't like - go away")
  5. Well if you looked closer in all this QQ you would figure out one basic thing. The most complain is "why it isn't WoW". The game offers completely diffrent game design and mechanics, just like GW1 did back then - and yet GW2 is completely diffrent from GW1. Now you might say - "yet you are complaing why SWTOR isn't WoW too". I don't want it to be WoW - I personally don't like nor play WoW. Yet both games in terms of game mechanics are mostly the SAME, yet SWTOR is missing a lot content which in my and many others opinion would make game better. SWTOR is ok as long as you're planning play it only in a short run. After that stairs appears. You guys say game is ok, I say it SHOULD be better. You say WoW had back then same problems - I say we have 2012 and situation of WoW back then is nowhere near to situation of SWTOR now. You say BW stated there's 1,7m subs - I say what I see in game. You say SWTOR won't die - this is one thing I can agree with you, because even if game would be far worse than it is, hardcore SW/BW/EA fans would keep it alive anyway and I am sadly one of them (SW fan[atic]). All I don't understand is this global "yesman" attitude in common.
  6. SWTOR was not hyped by players themselves - actualy as far as I can remember people complained since closed beta. BW/EA hyped game itself and there's no lie in this statement. You're missing the point and taking down everything to the money. GW1 was F2P since the beggining - did it attracted impossible amounts of players? No, because it was game which used single player/coop experience as tutorial to the game and it was everything about PVP. There was no grind, no PvE in meanings how most people understand this term. GW2 is hyping to the sky right now because players are excited about content and completely new game mechanics, not because it's going to be without monthly fee. I highly recommend to people to not talk about something they never experienced because atm it's looking like physicaly incapacited person would talk about his/her snowboarding experience - which they saw on the picture.... Second part of your post - I completely agree. I'm saying it all the time in many diffrent discussions but people tend to not see crushing truth that if you want to have same experience as you would have by paying monthly fee you actualy have to pay twice or even triple as much. They don't care because they gonna play for free (with cropped out essentail features like for example guild wars or guild bank, etc. - GG, GL, HF)
  7. You missinterpret my post. I'm not talking about which game is better atm - that was just question for our little "veteran" who clearly is talking about something that he hadn't participate with. And this is entirely true - if you played WoW/Rift/LOTRO/RoM/SWTOR you have general idea of what to expect in other games basis on the same gameplay model. You're looking for diffrences in art design (sf vs fantasy vs etc.) while I am looking at technical diffrences. While for example Rift is basicaly WoW-copypasta, Lineage 2 is completely diffrent - but hey, both games have elves right? No, SWTOR have only 3 diffrences from his precursor: universe, voice acting and less content. The game have even same lookings windows and menus... please... Also this is my main reason why I am still playing. As you noticed, there's NO other game in Star Wars universe. And it's impossible to have two of them because it would be like having for example 2 games based on LotR - can't happen due do license agreements. And because there's only one game in SW universe at a given time I want it to be best of the best. I don't care if WoW have more subscribers or if someone writes how bad it is. I just want it BETTER as a loyal subscriber.
  8. You realize GW2 doesn't need a LFG tool because it's completely diffrent than any MMO you have EVER played right? As so veteran MMO player you also acknowledge that in GW2 groups are formed automaticaly due to game design and game mechanics, right? And finally, because you might not play in beta stress tests or you will not play beta this weekend - you do realize that GW2 is announced since the beggining as a game where playing in groups is essential? Besides - there's dungeon finder. Btw. how do you exactly imagine GW2? As an WoW skinpack? Another experience similar to SWTOR or Rift in many ways? Because this is how your posts about GW2 looks like.
  9. Well I'm pretty satisfied with Imperial Soldier Armor. Although they should introduce other than Light Armor in social gear and add some other gear to CE vendor "as it was promised" (as far as I remember there was adnotation of regular updates of store - 4 months later didn't happen so far, but considering population problems game has now I can wait). Personally I would like to see Black Talon Imperial Soldier Armorset - looks exactly the same as Imperial Soldier but have some red accents added. It's not much, just an reskin. It was designed as shop with unique cosmetic stuff but there's nothing to choose between. Also believe me instead of some stupid vendor I would better like to see an HUGE artbook (like the one in Skyrim Collector's Edition) - but didn't happen and vendor just don't live up to the value of CE.
  10. And I'm not denying this! I want LFD/LFG tool too because game is full of antisocial soloers who don't even bother to make group content. People are skipping FP and Heroics by masses out there and I'm feeling your pain - sometimes you find group in 3 minutes and sometimes you're stuck on 150 people instance who remain quiet... but when you meet them infront of heroic entrance they add you o.0. In my earlier post I just wanted to say that putting dungeons on diffrent locations would actualy make that "RP" part of community happy and would add some spice itself so with addition of LFG tool this would be WIN-WIN. But as I mentioned there's too early for these tools - just because of how low content besides main story do we have. Simply saying I believe no such tool out there is on purpose (since making looking for groups based on which location you are with no GLOBAL chat is kinda silly idea isn't it?) - we would just push forward too fast and everyone would get bored by finishing all content within 2-3 weeks. Instead we can die of boredoom looking for group but oh well Gotta wait for some large expansion first I'm affraid.
  11. That guy - so much arguments he provided, didn't he? "Constructive criticism" is so popular these days... But I wanted talk about your post. Refering to GW as any other MMO on the market is just fail by itself. GW have more hardcore fans than Star Wars, Star Trek and Battlestar Galactica alltogether and just because of them game will be alive untill they won't close servers. And they simply will not until GW3 somewhere far far away in distant future will show up. Remember that GW2 doesn't require subscription as GW1 didn't. You pay for game and play just how long you want. Also as beta tester I can asure you - while GW2 is type that you will love or you will hate (there are no mid stances for this game seriously and it's definitely not for WoW's solowannabe) the fact that's entirely unique experience is entirely true. You may not believe me by word but you will find out in your own time Screw haters (and this one was hater for sure, while I can't say the same about most people here that are refered to as "haters") and let's our entertainment bloom.
  12. I cannot reffer to "easy mode" but this will overall speed up the game - TOR doesn't have enough content just yet. Also I believe flashpoints and operations would be actually more fun if all of them wouldn't start on fleet. You know, you go to investigate some tomb (for example) and you have to travel to Korriban. Just an example - simple thing but adding alot of juicy. Ofcourse there's the 2nd side of the medal - all lazy people afking on fleet all day will "meh" this idea, and for them fast groupping tool is needed indeed.
  13. More like a Lineage 2. WoW clones are SWTOR, RIFT, LOTRO, Runes of Magic - for example. Here you have very diffrent mechanics. Tera is old fasion Korean style grinding mmo with fun and entertaining combat but out of that it looks like a Lineage for sure, not a WoW - and I'm talking about every aspec of the game, not graphics or art design (that are true very simmilar to L2). The only ONE thing that Tera have from WoW is actualy system of LVLs where it's not important what gear your have or your skill as long as you have bigger level (yea, try to hit someone in SWTOR @ lvl 40 while being lvl 30 - dodge, dodge, dodge. Gain 5 more lvls and by some miracle you're doing dmg - and it even hurts... WoW's logic o.0) which is a huge issue to open world PVP (the truth is bunch of 30s should be able to take down a one 45 - not possible in system created in WoW where groupping mean nothing if there's level diffrence between you and opponent) And I'm not saying that SWTOR is bad comparing to Tera - I'm just pointing out your serious lack of knowledge under this topic. Also Frogster is messing with their community now so Tera EU is no threat atm even to Tibia because people are mass canceling pre-orders (not because game is bad - actualy they're mass jumping on US server instead - just because of how bad EU publisher Frogster is). You are aware it is impossible because that "traditional" MMORPG'ing was done on a games with completely diffrent system that what WoW (sadly) popularized? On one side I'm loving this so I can interact more and have fun, on the other side 70% of the community are solowannabe, and just because of them some tools are needed :/
