  1. For now, I just cancelled my sub. I'll keep trying to make things work over the next 24 days, but I most likely won't be coming back to SWTOR until Bioware has cleaned things up (and possibly if/when I get a new pc).
  2. I tried setting it to SP2. At first, everything worked quite well. Minimal lag, very playable. Of course, technology loves nothing more than to raise one's hopes just to bash said hopes' heads open with a rock a few minutes later. Everything went back to more or less how it was within an hour or two, and the game became unplayable, once more. I'm at my wit's end.
  3. I tried that, but I don't have a service pack 3. Is there somewhere I can get it? EDIT: wow, lots of replies, this one was in response to Ringzero. What do you mean a fresh install XDrcaul?
  4. I was anticipating some kind of message of hope to come, but I guess not. Could somebody at least tell me exactly how SWTOR is so much more demanding than other popular MMOs?
  5. Well that's just f'ing great. I don't really see how this game could be much more demanding than WoW or Rift, and I can't afford a new computer anyway. So I'm screwed.
  6. My drivers are up to date. I'll try turning EVERYTHING off, but somehow I'm doubtful that doing so will nukkify these crazy framerate issues. When I create a new character he sits there for a minute or two before the patchy, jerky cutscene plays, then sits again while the conversation loads.
  7. I turned down the graphics to low (from medium) and turned of shadows. It didn't do a thing. Now the game still runs like crap, but looks slightly worse. Any more ideas anyone?
  8. After musing for the better part of a day as to whether or not to get SWTOR, I finally shelled out and spent the rest of tha day (Sunday) downloading/installing. Yesterday I got into the game, created a character, and logged in. I have truly extreme lag. When I first create a character the screen freezes for a full 5+ minutes while trying to load everything. After that it becomes almost playable. I can get around in the populated areas by walking a few steps, then waiting for the subsequent freeze-up to subside. When I get into less populated areas, it is like having very mild lag in any other game: delay on abilities, etc. My internet connection is quite good, and I can, with very little trouble, run other MMOs and visually demanding games. A few I've played in the past 6 months - a year: WoW, Skyrim, DCUO, Rift. I don't really know what's going on, so let me just post my system specs and let you tell me. Intel Core 2 Duo CPU P8400 @ 2.26GHz 2.27 GHz GeForce 9800M GS 4G RAM Vista Home Premium Thanks in advance for all assistance.
