  1. What is everyone's problem with Elara Dorne? She may be a determined career woman with a rigid sense of duty, but II found her to be charming and sweet when out of the uniform during the romance conversations. She would be the one asking about your day and making sure you were loved and taken care of, while balancing her time and attention between her hubby, career, and 2.5 kids. I think she's amazing. Kira, I absolutely love. She's a good girl with a streak of sarcasm and normalcy that makes her seem like an believable romance, even if her personality and backstory is a bit cliche' and tropy. I never got annoyed with Kira once, and never had a reason to use any other companion aside from story locked companion missions. Her snarky sarcastic attitude meshed well with my less than rigid Guardian. "I can't read your mind, stupid." still makes me chuckle. Dark side Jaesa seems to be everyone's Dream girl. I'll admit, she's fantastic and fits perfectly with a Dark side Sith Warrior. She's the type of girl to jump your bones wearing nothing but a smile the moment you walk in the door, all while smashing the shock collar button repeatedly to keep Vette motivated to cook dinner set the table. Perfect mixture of crazy, passion, and attachment to the Player. Lana, while I love her personality, I absolutely can't stand her looks. Bioware seems very protective of her appearance and scolded their player base who openly flamed her appearance on the forums, so I'll leave it at that. She's a great romance option for people who want a strong woman who's a perfect mixture of business and pleasure. A little bit on the dark side mostly, but she doesn't seem to really get upset if you decide to be a good guy about things aside from vocalizing her disapproval. I only romanced her on my insta-60 token, since I didn't want to ruin any of the preexisting relationships on my other toons. Vaylin. While I would want to do nasty things to her, it's strictly a physical thing. I find her voice to be preteenish and I'm just not into the whole loli fetish. She's too mentally and emotionally damaged to be in a relationship that doesn't end with someone on a table with sharp objects sticking out of them. It would take some very impressive tweaking and suspension of disbelief in the story to justify her as a romance option. Then again, look at Revan in the original KOTOR. He had his mind tampered with by the Jedi council and was able to reinvent himself despite regaining his memory later down the road. Maybe this could happen with Vaylin as well, but who knows for sure.
  2. I remember reading about this in a thread a few months after launch. It was pretty much stated that PvP gear will never be better or on par with equivalent PvE gear. Expertise was a factor, but the main reason was that anyone can grind out PvP gear. It can be done completely solo and a group or guild is not a requirement, but both make it go much faster. Unless you're free to play or preferred, you can do warzones all day everyday with no restrictions. All you need patience, coffee, and a lot of free time. You can also grind out the PvE gear, but it takes substantially longer to get especially if you're trying to do it solo. Even if you run with a group or guild, there are also limitations in place to prevent you from getting the gear too fast (I.E. weekly operation lockouts, weekly com gain limit, etc..). In short, end game PvE gear is harder to get even if slightly in some cases. Naturally the stats are going to be somewhat higher, but expertise is supposed to offset this. With the removal of expertise, I can see them maybe boosting the gear temporary until they finally figure out what direction they're going with it. I quit doing PvP after the first time they made all my hard earned gear obsolete. I'm so darn glad I never put the time into gearing back up, only to have it rendered useless once again.

I won't attempt HMs until I get better gear. Like I said most of my gear is fitting with blue mods, nothing past 22s, but a few purples in my weapon with a level 23 hilt. My implants and Earpiece are still tank pieces that I never replaced, but that's getting remedied soon. Not geared at all by end game standards but working on it. As I said earlier, when grouped I don't put aggro from the main tank and I don't use wither if I'm not tanking. I also control my shock use as to not accidentally pull it as well. The spec is great for off tanking when things go wrong or we don't have enough cc. I survive better than a squishy spec and I still do plenty of damage. I'd love to see my damage with 28s slotted.

I'm also using a lot of blue mods in my gear, since he's an alt and I haven't geared him up yet. I'm not in a guild and can't run ops and HM heroics like clockwork to get there faster. When I can get him in some Blackhole of better gear I'm sure my dps will be much higher. What gear are you currently using?

Most of my abilities like shock, maul, force lightning etc, hit pretty hard since my crit and surge are high. Shock hits just under 2k and the 2nd shock will hit for around 800. Maul crits for 2400 most of the time, and force lightning usually hits for 850 a tic, just under 1200 on crits and they crit fairly often. Maul hits for 600-800, around 1500 total on crits. I use wither when I'm solo or tanking for heroics, and that hits for 800, 1400 on a crit. The biggest factors is having surge at 77% and a high crit chance. Once I get to 55 and can get back the melee crit chance buff in the madness tree, my dps will go up even further. It's not as much damage as deception or Madness, but I like the survivability of it. I tried the other 2 trees, and I didn't like the overall squishiness of them. Also, I can use whatever companion I want in most cases. I'm not forced to roll with a tank or healer.

I use maul now more than I ever did since the update. With my spec I have a 50% change to maul an opponent from the front anytime I use thrash, so my dps went up substantially by mashing the maul when it pops rather than just thrashing the entire fight. I run my assassin with full tank tree but use dps gear and it works out great. I don't steal aggro from the main tank, can off tank effectively, have very good survivability solo and in groups, and I do plenty of damage. To me it's worth it to hit for over 2k every now and then as opposed to hitting for only 600-800.
  7. I think subs have a right to be mildly upset. I agree with paying for expansion, it helps fund development for the next content update. But if you're paying a monthly sub fee and you're denied access to the regular game content, like say access to the game, then yeah some complaints are justified. I see this game as any other EA project: A way to nickel and dime you for as long as you stay interested. Sure, the expansion isn't that much and I support them charging you for it. But what if in 3-6 months they release an option pack that adds a new planet or unique gear and items, then another 3 months later, then another, etc.. all at the cost of $5-$10 a pop? The TOR community is starved for content, so they'll definitely want it. It all started to add up. Before you know it, you're spending more money on filler content than you probably wanted to, and really didn't get anything substantial. I'm not saying this is the case with TOR, but I wouldn't put it out your minds. Hopefully, any new expansions are of the same quality of content they put into Makeb, and not $5 for a new set of guns or an armor set like they did with Mass Effect 2 and 3..... oh wait, they're already doing that with the Cartel Market... EA is a profit first publisher. They'll run a game out the door if it's function before it's finished, then charge you later down the road for the unfinished content as something "new". It's just sad to see Bioware's reputation soiled beyond repair when they were a first rate developer before EA got their fingers in them.
  8. People asked for this feature at launch. They won't implement an auto attack, because your regular attacks are part of the global cool down like most of your specials. The idea is to make you focus on combat and what ability you'll use next. It keeps things interesting and forces you to interact with combat at all times, rather than the lolautoattack laziness people got used to in other games. There is no auto attack in SWTOR, and probably never will be.
  9. Romances in this game are just an additional game mechanic, and are completely optional like gathering datacrons. It amazes me how bad people want same sex pixelated romances in a video game. Are they that lonely? I'm glad Bioware is trying to cater to all crowds, but as someone already said this is just a stepping stone to further greatness. Be patient and see where this road takes us, it's untested waters for Star Wars in general. I'm just really surprised there are not more people complaining about SGR breaking the continuity of the Star Wars universe (read a thread on a different forum about a bromance with Luke and Han. Scary and hostile stuff, those responses), but with the way things are now you can't voice those opinions without getting crucified by the gay community. Rock on Bioware. Keep doing what you want/what EA tells you to do, no matter what the community thinks.
  10. The Talent tree adjustments are really cheap and lazy way to justify the extra 5 points. I have to say I was initially disgusted that I now have to gain an addition 5 levels to get back to where I was in terms of what talents I had. I really felt this on my Sentinel and Marauder burn/bleed specs as now I no long have enough points to get the additional saber damage with my offhand unless I gave up the top tier ability of my chosen tree. I appreciate them adding Kolto Bomb as a commando ability that's trainable. However I didn't like having to spend 76k to fully train it back up, since I was flat broke at the time, when I had it for the cost of 1 talent point. To be a full healer I had to give up the 4% alacrity in one tree and a few other convenient abilities in the gunnery tree. To anyone who said this was any kind of a boost, I just can't see your logic. The new content is worth the money, even if I'm pissed about the talent tree adjustments. As someone said earlier in the thread, it was harsh reality for people who had the top tier ability for their chosen tree and now have to wait a few more levels to get it back.
  11. This is more of a convenience issue, but please add a 4th option to the conversations (when grouped) that allows your character to remain silent. I ask for this option, because I like to see what other classes have to say when I know what all my options are, or maybe you're helping a friend or guild mate catch up in social points by letting them win all conversations. It gets tedious when you have to wait for the conversation to "time out" between choices. This would streamline the process and reduce a conversation from a matter of 4 mins down to like 2.5 mins.
  12. I support this idea as well. Making planet and blackhole comms legacy bound wouldn't break any systems they have in place and just make things easier that the current method (mailing legacy bound gear back and forth).
  13. You still don't get it. It's not about me getting what I want so much as why it's the only planet with a block like this. I understand you want to justify your existence by trolling, but this is only a request to remove something that seems completely pointless in the grand scheme of things. If this were actually there to stop people from doing what you think is the reason, every planet would have a blocker like this not just one. I came across this by doing something unorthodox and found it odd. It's funny that you don't seem to understand that and are more focused on my personal reasons for the request. All you care about is getting you 2 cents worth of comments on someone's post. To everyone who keeps saying level up etc... it's not a matter of me leveling my toon. I'm well aware I was well below the required level for the planet and I came across this while trying something out. I found it odd that it's the only planet with a blocker on it. That's why it seems to me like an oversight that anything intentional, and I wanted to bring it to their attention, for better or worse. If this makes them put a blocker on all planets, that fine as well. At least we'll have symmetry.
  14. Access to a ship doesn't matter, because you have to talk to someone on the Quesh Orbital station to get the shot. I'm pretty sure you meet the level requirements to get the shot conversation, otherwise the transport on the station wouldn't let you down to the planet without the shot. I believe the lowest level you can be to get the conversation is 34, but I'm not exactly sure. It wasn't available to me at 27. If you somehow subverted this and can land directly on the planet without going through the orbital station, let me know how you did it.
  15. Nice trolling. If that were the case, all planets would have a level restriction not just one. This seems like a design oversight, not an intentional blocker since you can access EVERY other planet without restriction. I came across this while trying something that is well within the bounds of the game rules and was bringing it to their attention with the hopes of them removing it, just incase it is indeed a design oversight. This is the suggestion box forum so please stick to the regular forums with your snarky comments and unhelpful criticism.
