  1. 4/6 - and i had them since pre-order and the characters that have them are inactive as far as I can tell. I only really care about my main so that I can contact other friends from previous server. Here below is what I have learned in the conversations with the customer service people: I posted this elsewhere and they told me to put it here. I have actually submitted about five tickets on the issues surrounding the server transfer/you lost your name because you didn't know/ BioWare is boning us issue. I also called tech support today (as apparently there is no way to get a customer service rep on the phone). So apparently they closed my other thread (with no response) while I was editing it so here is full version. I will keep posting until they do something like take my pwer away to do so. Then I will move to facebook and Reddit. Every time I have submitted a ticket they literally wait until I am offline then say they tried to reach me for a live chat then send me a form letter. Below is what I have learned and my responses: 1. The server transfer is final - even though we were NOT informed if our name was taken before we committed the transfer. - This may well be true but basically allowing us to move before be knew consequences in stupid. I seriously thought this was a BioWare game not a Bliizard game 2. There is no technical way they can change my name, even to another similar name. There is no technology to do this. - Okay first of all this is a lie. The mechanism does exists for example if I made a character named "HitlerISCool234546" Then people reported my name the game HAS a mechanism for doing this. This was confirmed on the phone today with the nice tech support staff. So basically quit telling you can’t - I personally am going to continually submit tickets saying I am offended by my current name - because in honesty I am! 3. If the character name is taken in ANY WAY on the server there is NO WAY they can allow you to change your name to that or create a new character with that name. This means for ANY REASON. Like for instance they started a toon on that server any day before transfer and then let that character so inactive due to not paying subs or the account being suspended for something like RMT or such. - First of all I cannot directly prove this but I know someone who's name was restored to them. Basically a PVP rival of his made a new toon with that name - well honestly he thinks so but cannot confirm (was a lvl 1 - never played recently created) and he submitted a ticket. A customer service droid changed his name to his original name and t his knowledge changed the name or the lvl 1 character. since the customer service cannot and will not comment on this there is no way to confirm and he did not have a screenshot before and after - but suffice to say there are many witnesses to this. 4. Apparently there is no way to reach the customer service department that handles in game things EXCEPT through the live chat option (I have refereed to what happens with that above). This I believe is their effort to talk AT you instead of having a dialogue. I was online for 12 hours yesterday and was not contacted until 6:00 am after i finally logged off. - This is just ridiculous. I actually tried to get the tech support on phone to tell me a way to contact them - i didn't even care if it wasn't toll-free - and he simply said that they "have no phones there" and they are in a "backoffice." I have not worked in video game customer service so that could be code for they are all on their own computers at home or something. Simply put, it seems they just want to have a way you cannot yell at them and their managers. I asked if this was at the BW Austin office or the location of the office and he could not say anything to that respect - of course. Which leads me to believe they do not exist in this dimension - so prove me wrong customer service? Are they are another world through some star gate? Maybe it’s on P3X 552? So this also begs the question that we (by ‘we’ I mean people that pre- ordered and received early access) have been royally screwed. First of all, as above we didn’t know anything about whether our names were taken. Secondly, we (I know I did) preordered the game ridiculously early. I know I did within a couple of hours of the announcement. The ads around that time said “Pre-order now” and “Reserve your name with early access” (paraphrasing a bit there maybe). But just as we received in game speeders another in game items they have basically stolen an item (the fact you could name yourself if you paid early) from us. I have personally decided that to this end that I have been fraudulently charged for my subscription since server transfers. Therefore If we are not compensated for this loss then I will report the charges as fraudulent to my credit card and I would encourage all others to do so as well. And lastly, this has ruined my faith in a company. When I called customer service and heard “the doctors” saying thanks for playing the game I wished I could slap them and ask them what have they done? So tl;dr – Customer service can change your name. I have seen it done – simply not to your old name which is crap if the person is inactive or such on that character – even if they are not a subscribed anymore. I suggest you all say your name is offensive and needs to be changed – hell make all your friends do it as well because it will 1) make them finally address the issue and 2) honestly I want to make them as mad as I am about this crap. I also suggest if they don’t fix it all players report the charge as fraudulent and then I will await the point to which is it fixed to my satisfaction before returning.
  2. I would like to know what the developers plan to do to compensate the players that selected a server transfer and lost their names. We were not informed that the name was taken until the transfer was complete. The customer service seems to not have anticipated the fact this would happen. How can we be punished more choosing to do something without being informed that we would lose our names (which we paid for by pre-ording early - as per your "Reserve your name now!!!' Advertisements in your emails/ banner ads
  3. yeah and mer must always roll 100 with his guild.... they are the luckiest people ever
  4. we have seen a bug this time (for first time ever) that the ball lighting will hit you and explode... then disappear. however people in the general area where it "died" will still take dmg. IF you are watching that area you will see the ball appear every now and then with like 5% of it's full health and is invisible (not no nameplate or anything just plain invis) so we have to tell people to avoid that area in case the ball is still "alive" but invisible. bottom line there shouldn't be a "oh we can run it this way" being said by us, the players. They have designed the mechanics of the fight, we have the tools to defeat the boss and the knowledge to defeat the boss we shouldn't have to be like - oh here is a workaround for the fact the bugs have never been fixed. Honestly if people didn't do the workarounds so much then they would have been forced to work on the fix a long time ago rather than put off these fixes patch after patch. the problem is not that Soa is unbeatable but that he can wipe you a large percentage of the times because of bugs. If he was unbeatable then these bugs would have been fixed long ago. right now he is just annoying enough to tick off us - but not so bad on biowares radar because they are like "oh people are killing him though so lets fix something else"
  5. This is simply not true. I have name plates turned on and a majority of the times the ball lighting nameplates will only stay up one i have targeted them as in once u target and target again it will stay. Also the lighting balls have "dead bodies" which makes the fact of not always displaying ball lighting problematic sine you cannot tell the difference between the two
  6. I should rephrase this to say Bugs - in plural
  7. This has happened to us multiple times. Every time tonight we made it to the bottom of Soa he bugged on us. After submitting a bug report I got this conversation below (or not - no cut/paste and deletes the text after so much)in response. To summarize it being angry I wanted my gear drop and was furious so asked for that in bug report. The customer service guy in live chat stated that the fault lies with the developers. So i asked to speak with a dev (of course they cant talk to me) the rest of the conversation was basically canned responses but the thing I have taken away is this: 1. The stance of customer service is that all of this is the responsibility of developers and the bugs and is a known issue 2. Since it's the developer's fault (says customer service) I will from now on keep up with repair bills from bugged wipes for my entire guild ops. Then at the next guild summit I or someone from my guild will be there to ask for those credits from a developer directly. I suggest all high level guilds do this. directly from James or Georg Zoeller. 3. The fact that a bug known from beta has not been fixed is unacceptable. If BioWare doesn't start addressing things timely people WILL leave this game for another. the convo: Okay so i was going to post the convo but cannot cut/paste it due to a combination of massive frustration on my part. plus once u scroll up so far the above conversation is deleted apparently.... but oh well... i then said that needs to be submitted as a bug report/game update
  8. I guess the TS3 overlay is not working in SWTOR currently? Anyone know a workaround that will allow it to do so? Sorry if someone has posted on this before but I didn't see any other post about it.
