  1. Like it says, cannot interact with the walker, has a dialog box when mouse hovers over it but cannot be activated. Re-logging, exiting and re-entering, and re-starting the entire client do absolutely nothing. Chapter 1 cannot be continued, this is a game-breaker. After getting in touch with customer service live chat, the tech specialist determined that your toon has to physically stand inside a little green circle at the bottom of the walker's location, directly underneath the walker in order to progress. This is more than a little counter-intuitive, but at least I'll be vastly more anal about trying to figure out what Bio-ware wants me to do in the future...
  2. Yes, the 'Outlander' IS weak. Your fights against Knights of Zakuul and the Heralds of Zildrog are exercises in frustration. Every strong mob or better is immune to pushback abilities, has CHAIN-STUN abilities, has pushback that IGNORES any immunites, the list goes on and on, and NOT ONE icon denoting that they are AWESOME and you are PATHETIC. I get that the devs are being 'subtle' and oh so gently trying to insinuate that you are definitely off your game from your involuntary toxsicle trip. This will not work for most peeps, if its not in your face and doing the flamenco, most peole will totally miss out on it. If you want a reason, blame hollywood with their constant barrage of 'hand-holding' storytelling. The devs really need to 'throw us a bone' and flat out tell us why we are so.....average.
  3. Have to agree with you on this one, at least then we would actually have SOMETHING that is class specific. I still absolutely believe that having unique convo options is totally actionable with their current budget. There is already a very small amount of that in KotFE, but it's as minimal as they could get away with and still claim they had done it for those who are very vocal in bringing back class-specific content.
  4. There are so many good points and counter-points in this post I'm glad I caught it. I personally really LIKE the story of KotFE ( or kofe, as I call it(Coffee....gotta have it!)). I feel as others do in that Bioware has returned to its roots of Story-telling and epic content. This is entirely in the scope of the dev's own vision. Therin lies the problem. I don't have a link to the exact dev blog, but the devs have 'kinda, sorta explained' that their vision of epic storytelling leaves little room for 'personalization', i.e. Class Story Content. This was a pretty transparent way of explaining to players that the only new content will be epic content aimed at satisfying the demand for new story content while remaining within their EA masters budget. Never mind that my opinion of your average corporate suit is best described as 'CEO == Prince of Darkness'. That being said, KotFE has a MAJOR FLAW: No REPLAY VALUE. The story of kofe is the SAME regardless of your class, even your DIALOG OPTIONS are the same! This wouldn't be so bad if I had 8 JEDI force users...... KotFE's true failing is that you are trapped on the same 'story-train' with 8 different personalities, this has the making of a joke ( A Jedi Saint, A Sith Demon, and a Con Man all have tickets for the same seat on a bus.....), unfortunately the joke's on us. It would have taken very little extra money to craft the story and dialog so that each class had a unique series of dialog options, things only that class could say. It may not seem like much, but that little bit would have made a WORLD of difference in immersion. Immersion equals replay value, which equals recurring subs which equals money for the Evil Overlords. And money is ALL that matters to them, nevermind that you aren't really that happy with what you paid for, as long as they have your money in their pocket......oh, and then they get to laugh at you as a perk. I have said it before and I will say it again and I will KEEP SAYING IT: CLASS STORY IS WHAT SWTOR IS ALL ABOUT! I am willing to PAY to get real class content back in the game! Sure, KotFE is free, but so is growing old... Seriously, THINK about it, they started this game with 8 great individual stories, and now they are all gone. That's like an ice cream shop that sells a whole bunch of different flavors and then undergoes 'new management' and 'corporate vision' and then sells just ONE flavor........doesn't communism do that? " Well comrade, you can have any car you want, as long as it's a Zil" Shouldn't we expect better from Bioware?
  5. Try playing it as a straight arrow pure lightside Jedi Knight. You will find that EVERY plot point and dialog option is TAILOR MADE for that extremely narrow, myopic point-of-view. I have played both extremes, Pure Darkside Inquisitor and Pure Lightside Jedi Knight. There was absolutely NO REPLAY VALUE whatsoever. You had the EXACT SAME dialog options, voiceovers, etc. You might as well call KotFE 'The Grand Adventures of Generic Jedi Knight #xxxxxx' It sure feels that way, just like Makeb, just like Shadow of Revan. I've said it in another post, as have others, Bioware has stealth-killed Class Story, its dead. Period. They will feed us the exact same content and rely on slavish worshippers to just suck up the latest episodic content to keep subbers paying to play. The content they created for Shadow of Revan that was 100% class specific amounted to 10 minutes of playtime, 20 if you dragged your feet. We didn't even get that in 9 chapters of KotFE. R.I.P. class story, I will miss you terribly....
  6. Welcome to 4.0! You get to look forward to: - Being a Ragdoll for every cliche villain in the story. - Weaker than a newborn nexu-pup. - Totally at the mercy of a Deus Ex Machinae in every chapter. - Dealing with surly and motivationally challenged Companions. - Watching Companions you spent massive cookies on DIE because you chose the wrong door during the Monty Hall segment of the story. - Still having to cater to the Adolescent Armageddon syndrome in story development. - Being kicked to the curb and spat on when you are Sith. - Being ignored and CLANLESS when you are Mandalore's Champion. - Being Clueless when you are the Master Conspirator. - Being Forever a Major when you are the Master of Havoc. - Being a Rebel without a Reason when you have your own freighter but no business sense. - Being a plodding, pondering, dazed and confused Padawan in a Master's Robe. 4.0 is the final nail in the coffin of Class Story. its dead. Bioware has quietly buried it. I WOULD HAVE PAID to have REAL class story back in the game, seriously, the reason to play the game is because the class stories are pretty good or flat out great! But no....EVERY expac since release has been the same sad tired adventure of Generic Hero #xxxxxxxx, ad infinitum, ad nauseam.... At least it was free.....kinda like growing old.....
  7. On a new toon running through crew skills, suddenly hit this bug for ALL that toon's crew skills at a rating of 340+. The toon's Crew Skill rating at the time was 360. Can't get the game to let that toon do crafting mission drops from slicing, which ironically enough is one of the toon's crew skills. Recently made level 380 on two crew skills where the required skill level of the 'token' crew skills mission was 340, both 'token' missions became available at skill level 380, clearly this is a new 'service' provided via 4.0.......
  8. TYVM! I will definitely try your method, I hope it works for me, would really like to experience the one FP I haven't yet done.
  9. After having very carefully read the patch notes for a THIRD time, and actually tried to do Taral V as a level 58 toon, I realized that the SOLO MODE flashpoints have a STORY PROGRESSION RESTRICTION. If you START the 'Shadow of Revan' Story Arc, you will no longer have access to any of the solo modes for the listed flashpoints. Personally I think this is idiotic, They definitely realize their entire new expansion is ABOUT THE STORY. Restricting players from enjoying a previous part of the story because of some arbitrary design decision is just silly. The obvious 'answer to purists' is to make the solo mode flashpoints 'a memory sequence' for those who absolutely must have rigid continuity. This is a game, games are meant to be fun, I think the devs would LIKE peeps to experience all of the content they went to great effort to create for their players....
  10. Time to pony up some bucks and make good on your original goal, EA/Bioware. BRING BACK CLASS STORIES! Throwing more Flashpoints at us and saying our character's story is over is a total cop-out designed to keep money in the pockets of people who never have and never will play this game. This game exists because of US, the PLAYERS, the peeps who actually pay to play, or just make micro-transactions. You finally got off your duffs and more or less fixed PvP, made plenty of Operations and Flashpoints playable at max level, now bring back what the arguable majority of your paying customers came here for: A unique class story experience that no other mmo can offer.
  11. /Signed I play this game, and PAY to play this game, for one reason alone: Individualized Personal Story arcs. Rise of the Hutt Cartel was with only one small exception an IDENTICAL experience for EVERY SINGLE CLASS. The exception being in how your persona was addressed by the NPC's. Did I accept this as a limitation in the development time and finances available? Yes, I did. I DO NOT accept yet ANOTHER Makeb-like(Makebbish?) experience where I am practically referred to as: Generic Hero/Villain 'X'. I know full well Bioware/EA is going to DO THIS ANYWAY! Am I disgusted and bitter? Do Wookies rip off arms when they lose? Am I going to keep shelling out the credits? That depends on how angry I am by the end of the year, after having been snubbed again and again by greedy, money grubbing corporate suits who wouldn't know a good product if it called them 'Scruffy-looking Nerf Herders'. I don't have any problems laying out some gamer-hate, Bioware. You have PROVEN to have earned it in the past, and I have no doubt your corporate masters will continue to convince you to do things that alienate your core fan/customer base in the future, they are after all, slavish devotees of the darkest side.
  12. NUMBER ONE: MORE CLASS STORY! I don't play this game to run around doing filler crap and amuse myself by giggling " Dude, I'm like, a Jedi (or Sith)". I play this game because its an mmo-rpg that has REAL RPG elements in it! SWtOR is all about ME! MY journey! MY story! I'm tired of toys and tidbits to keep me paying to play. Get a CLUE! EA/Bioware, you have ALOT of competition, do what nobody else does and what you do BEST! Give us the class story adventure where our toons are the center of the galaxy again! NUMBER TWO: HOOD/NO HOOD OPTION! Its just bitterly disappointing that you haven't addressed this issue since launch. I'm NOT talking about making entirely new armor models to accommodate the Hood Up/ Hood Down crowd. Just use existing technology to use the TWILEK armor models for all gear with a hood, then add a new button on the appearance UI so you can toggle the hood on or off. It really is that simple. Color matching to chest was harder for you guys than this would be. Number Three: Make reverse engineering more rewarding, and less dependent on 'luck'. Add a counter that gives a cumulative +10% chance with every RE attempt on the same crafted item . This wouldn't really affect 'lucky' people (except to make them angry that they aren't the only ones to be able to make great items anymore), but would definitely make up for the abysmal performance of the RNG where RE is concerned.
  13. This is my playstyle as well. I'd just like to say something that got a few laughs on Nar about the 'Shroud' questline: "I can kill Emperors, Conquer or Liberate planets, Destroy fortresses, millions across the Galaxy fear or praise my name, and yet one aging spy with megalomania is totally beyond my capabilities". More solo content please! More CLASS SPECIFIC CONTENT PLEASE! I play this game and subscribe because its about MY story, not the story of a group of star wars themed heroes/villains. Thank you.
  14. I'm in this group as well, c'mon Bioware, give us an answer on this one simple feature the community has wanted since closed beta! I'm not talking about new armor models here. It's so simple they should be jawa-slapping themselves for having missed it. Every chest armor model with a hood has TWO textures: one for TWILEK models, and one for all OTHER species models. Make a button on the existing customization UI that shares this functionality! One simple texture file over-ride and we get to actually see our toons! You cannot tell me you can't easily do this. You figured out how to implement a helmet toggle and color-match to chestpiece, you can do this one too.
  15. Figured it out in the last couple days, since I never had a chance to get into it during the one weekend I played in Beta. Short answer: YES! Longer answer: Very relevant, and I will give an example. I got as a Smuggler, an orange blaster as a quest reward at like level 7. Big whoop, right? WRONG! That blaster had FOUR mod slots. That means that if I replace the BARREL mod with a BETTER mod it instantly UPGRADES the blaster to the level of the mod! This means that all you have to do to make a high quality item that has alot of mod slots viable is simply upgrade the primary mod. For blasters, its the Barrel For Melee weps, its the Hilt For Armor, its the armor mod You can get these nice multi-mod items with commendations, Flashpoints, and even as quest rewards! That brings up the next point, and that's the 'skin', or 'look' of the item. Peeps will pay premium for a highly moddable 'skin' that looks 'swag'. Just an example. You normally can only get these by a combo of reverse engineering and critical successes. This can be both resource and money intensive, and is really only for the dedicated crafter, but the rewards for catering to other gamers for the 'best' looking skins can be sweet indeed. Well, there's my 2-credchit take on it, but its really helped out my smuggler stay at the top of his game. Enjoy!
