  1. Well they don't have a problem with 20 thousand "Wraths of the Emperor" running around so I doubt they would have a huge problem with elevating the Inquisitor higher although it would probably not be until late in the story. As for whether the Wrath would ascend to the throne I doubt it personally. Bioware has already said that they based the Sith Warrior on Darth Vader and the Inquisitor on Emperor Palpatine thematically so if they are going to make anyone emperor it's going to be the Inquisitor. The emperor is most likely going to be the antagonist for everyone but as it stands right now the Inquisitor is in a prime position to be chosen by the ghosts of the ancient Sith Lords as their next champion especially since he spent the entire 3rd act of the game making himself into the perfect vessel for holding absurd amounts of a ghost's power.
  2. Not quite. They would actually need to give you a new companion. Remember companions aren't just used for combat they are also used for trade skill missions and other things.
  3. There's a few very specific reasons why the Devs don't really want you to kill off Quinn. Reason #1: Killing Quinn would mean that they are gimping your character gameplay wise because you are now down 1 healer and missing 1 companion which has serious gameplay ramifications and this would definitely cause problems as many people just automatically click the darkside responses without thinking about it. Reason #2: Killing Quinn would create problems if the Devs ever wanted to use him for a future story arc and coming up with some contrived explanation for how to replace Quinn while still being able to fit this new person into any future story arcs would be an unnecessary pain in the *** and needlessly increase their workload in the future. Now that isn't to say that they should have let Quinn off with only a choking. There are a few more severe things they could have done like for instance cutting his arm off and then have him replace it with a robotic arm or maiming him in some way so that he can still participate in the future stories but also be sufficiently punished for his betrayal.
  4. I was watching the Galactic Timeline videos and some things stood out to me. [spoilers below you have been warned] During the Exar Kun war the ghosts of the ancient Sith Lords support Exar Kun as the Dark Lord of the Sith and played an active role in helping him whereas they have been curiously absent when it comes to the Emperor of the Sith Empire and seem to even actively work against the Empire. It is also pointed out that the Emperor sabotaged the Sith Lord's ghosts before attacking the Republic meaning he anticipated that the Sith Lords' ghosts would try to stop him. The emperor's agents seem to have sealed many of the SIth Lord's tombs. Why would the Sith Lords' ghosts not support the Emperor? If I had to guess I would attribute it to the Force Ghosts' uncanny omniscience meaning they probably know what he's ultimately planning (aka swallowing all life in the Galaxy) and even the Sith Lords don't want to see that happen. What does this have to do with the Sith Inquisitor's story? I believe that the Sith Inquisitor's story is setting the stage for the Sith Inquisitor to be selected as the next "Exar Kun" figure. We already know that the Sith Inquisitor's unique abilities attract force ghosts to him and that they can feed his power immensely. We also know that the Sith Lords of old do not apparently support the Emperor and in many cases seem to openly oppose him. We also know that the Sith Inquisitor's new job is to uncover the secrets of the Dark Side which would definitely include searching the tombs of these old Sith Lords so it's only a matter of time before the Sith Inquisitor meets the same Dark Lords that confronted Exar Kun or even Exar Kun himself. We also know that the Darkside Inquisitor is driven by a lust for personal power whereas the Lightside Inquisitor is driven by a determination to make the Empire a better place. Both of these motives would drive the Sith Inquisitor to stand against the Emperor when the ghosts of the Ancient Sith Lords confronted him and offered to aid him overthrow the Emperor and take up the mantle of Dark Lord of the Sith. The Sith Inquisitor's story may just be the most central story of the Empire but we can't see yet how it connects to the story of the Empire. Also another theory: Many people have complained that Ashara could not be turned to the Dark Side completely and stubbornly remains a Jedi yet even the Sith Warrior could seduce a padawan to the Dark Side so what gives? I think there was a very good reason why Ashara remains lightside no matter what. I think Ashara might become very important to the story later on. We know that the Empire's symbol becomes the Symbol that the Republic uses in the Anakin/Palpatine era so there's a good chance that some sort of Empire/Republic union happens resulting in a new republic that uses the Empire's symbol as a symbol of unity. If you talk to Ashara her dialogue goes on and on about trying to unify the Sith and the Jedi and bring the Empire and the Republic closer together and I think she will serve a pivotal role in this future unification of the Empire/Republic especially if the Sith Inquisitor ends up overthrowing the Emperor. What do you think? EDIT: Here's a link to the timeline videos for those curious:
  5. Well... I hate to burst your bubble but it was confirmed by a Dev in an interview that Malgus is toast. They did however hint that he did have an apprentice and this apprentice might not be too happy about us killing their master. EDIT: Link for the inevitable request -> http://torwars.com/2012/08/22/torwar...res-hall-hood/ The Malgus part is towards the end of the interview
  6. they have plans for him. It would have been easy for them to have the story set after he died and just have some references to him. They put him in for a reason and they have plans for him.
  7. Why do people play empire? Which would you rather be? A smuggler or a secret agent. A guy who runs around saving people from their own stupidity or the guy who punches annoying people in the face Let's face it: the republic is at a disadvantage because no matter what you do it's hard to feel good while playing a republic player. If you are a Jedi you are constantly saddled with helping these pathetic irritating backstabbing idiots and you rarely feel good about it. Even if you do help these people someone is always yelling at you for some reason or another. The republic seems to be made up largely of self righteous whiners (quest giver wise) and it grinds on your nerves pretty quickly. The Sith on the other hand you get ENORMOUS satisfaction from finding those pathetic irritating people and introducing them to the shiny end of your lightsaber. Here's a hypothetical encounter to point out what I mean: townsman: Jedi go solve our problems for us! *Jedi solves problems* townsman: Why didn't you solve all of our problems! Now we have to do stuff and it's all your fault! *Jedi apologizes for any inconveniences* townsman: Sith go solve our problems for us! *Sith reluctantly decides to help the man out as his cause coincides with the empire's* townsman: Why didn't you solve all our problems! Now we have to do stuff and it's all your fault! *Sith cuts the man in half for being irritating*
  8. No. after the initial excitement of playing the game it quickly got old. The game doesn't have enough player driven content to be long lasting. The content is all predetermined and scripted so it's the same every time and there's nothing to brighten the day like launching an attack on a rebel base. In short the game is set up in such a way that even though there are a lot of players those players can't do anything outside of perform a few scripted actions. For example a 50 can only PvE spam Hardmodes for gear or PvP spam warzones and there's nothing to break up the monotony so it quickly loses its apeal. Also another downer. Nothing ever changes. I feel like there's no reason to log on because I feel like nothing I do has an impact be that in questing/PvP/Raiding/Flashpoints. The only thing I had to really look forward to was the central story (lets face it the side quests sucked) and once the class story was over it got boring very fast.
  9. The only colors that really bother me are the black core sabers other than that I don't care.
  10. Even so: you don't have to be smart to make something blow up. You don't even have to know how it works you just have to screw it up. But for the sake of argument let's assume that the hyper drives are completely harmless. That still doesn't solve the problem that their ships have power sources that are far beyond anything an atomic bomb could hope to be. And even if we assume they can't blow up their ships that still doesn't solve the problem that they have already established that there are a million other doomsday weapons and scientific breakthroughs that would DRASTICALLY change combat. Here's a list I came across off the top of my head: The infinity engine Revan left behind in his Nar Shadaa Vault. The Foundry. Self Repairing Cybernetics in Dromund Kaas. Weaponized Rakghoul Virus. The Silencer. The Gauntlet. Hammer Station. Superpowerful battle droids. Super Effective Cloaking technology Killer organic/electronic orbital strike weapons.
  11. Here's why the tactics aren't realistic: Because realistic tactics done well suck to watch. Plain and simple. If a guy is running at you with a sword it would make sense to sit somewhere where he can't reach you and just shoot him but that's not very dramatic so in order to heighten the drama and visuals they have soldiers charging into battle to fight jedi in close quarters even though that is idiotic. If this universe was realistic in the slightest you would almost never SEE fights between soldiers because there's enough super weapons just sitting around in this galaxy that having an army is really just having a large group of mall guards. If Star Wars was going to pretend to be realistic then they wouldn't use soldiers at all. The universe is FILLED with super powerful droids of doom/doomsday weapons/men capable of consuming a planet's life The notion that they should try to be more strategic is silly because THEY CAN'T. The entire Star Wars universe is based around aesthetics and drama and has LONG since thrown tactics and realism out the window. They can't start using logical tactics now because the Star Wars universe quite frankly can't sustain realism because it is based entirely on fantasy and drama. Let me use an example: The Star Wars civilization is advanced enough to achieve interstellar travel with giant ships and with much smaller ships and as such the amount of power just sitting around in one of these ships is far more than any bomb earth has ever seen so if you were going to be realistic these 2 civilizations could just wipe eachother off the map with their little transport ships ALONE given the power that's used just to move those behemoths. Every power source doubles as a bomb because all that separates a bomb from a power source is that a power source releases its energy in a steady stream whereas a bomb releases all its energy at once. You can't have realism AND be in the Star Wars universe. They are so far removed from each other that one cannot sustain the other. The military tactics are really just the tip of the ice berg in this regard. Think of Star Wars like D&D you cannot apply realism to D&D because you quickly run into problems like say for instance problems of physics when you use energy substitution electricity on the spell create water and suddenly you've now created a bomb bigger than an atom bomb out of a simple spell that half the population can cast. There are other tricks like the "locate city" bomb. The trick is to take the world at face value and not to delve too deep into it.
  12. Well I'm not as qualified to talk on the Republic's issues but as far as the Sith are concerned here's how it goes. Item 1: Slave revolt is a sham. You find out in various storylines that the slave revolt is allowed to continue because various sith lords (like Baras) find it advantageous and a pleasant distraction for their enemies so they let it continue. Item 2: Rebelling Sith Lord is also for the most part a sham. Nobody cares that some "Lord" is throwing a temper tantrum. He's for the most part just throwing it to get attention like a child and not really particularly threatening in any way. Like with the slave revolt he is allowed to continue because for one he's not threatening and mainly just being dramatic and for two certain sith lords (like Baras) are keeping him around as a distraction. Item 3: The Revanites are just an annoyance. They also are not really a legitimate threat and at most are really just ideologically mistaken. They might be a little annoying to some orthodox sith but for the most part nobody cares.
  13. I'm pretty sure the Wrath becomes a Darth in the same way that the Inquisitor becomes a Lord in that nobody is really gonna question them when they introduce themselves as a darth. In reality it would be silly if your character who can terrorize the dark council (made up entirely of Darths) wasn't "worthy" of the Darth title. I pretty much just view it as a title he gave himself.
  14. Whether Jaesa is light or dark side depends PURELY on a choice you make right before you obtain her as a companion. None of your other choices before that point affect whether she is light or dark side in ANY way. As for the romance option she is only romanceable if she is darkside.
