  1. Because he's the closest she's had to a boyfriend in all her life. Malcom was just hot guy, Marr actually provides some emotional comfort and support. And knowing this, she wakes up every morning on Odessan filling her coffee with Coreillian whiskey.
  2. Just for some silly fun: imagine if you will, your character(s) has somehow ended up in the time of the Original Trilogy, anywhere between 0 to 4 after the battle of Yavin in A New Hope. For simplicity's sake, let's also pretend they've got their ship, their gear, and default class companions along with general knowledge of the current state of Galactic Affairs. How would they react to various OT characters? Who would they side with (if anyone)? And anything else you can think of.
  3. Look, I'm not big on Satele Shan either, but this is the worst argument right here: JEDI ARE NOT SITH. POWER IS NOT EVERYTHING TO THEM. She was chosen because she could administrate, lead, etc. etc. Given she helped basically bring the Order back from the second brink of destruction it has suffered since Nihilus went Viking on the Jedi 300 years prior I'd say she did a well enough job of that. Then there's the fact that Satele's talent is not upfront fighting, she's part of the Shan family line, and Bastilia wasn't exactly a great fighter either given you reunited with her locked in a cage to be sold into slavery. Satele's specialty is 'battle meditation' which is supposed to give a massive boost to her ALLIES in a fight, and the more people involved in a battle, the more useful it is. Also, as much as my characters like to call her a hypocrite on having a kid, does it occur to anyone she encourages celibacy BECAUSE she regrets her past actions? She regrets giving into her passions with Malcom, she regrets not being able to be the mother Theron needed, and basically regrets a good half of her life. Does a former drug addict who discourages drug abuse a hypocrite? Although on the last point, putting a lot of things said here into perspective: I wouldn't be surprised if Satele HAS lost all hope. Perhaps she sees herself as a failure of a grandmaster, a leader, and a jedi and that's why she's not helping. The player spent five years blissfully asleep in, albeit slowly dying, in carbonite. Satele watched a bulk of the Jedi Order capitulate and betray their ideals or get butchered under her command, leaving only a hollow shell of the Jedi Order in its wake that decides to take out its frustrations on a Sith Empire in the same situation. Oh, and her son hates her. Yeah, I'd be hitting the anti-depressants pretty hard if I were Satele too.
  4. I think people are being a little... overreactive. I mean I've seen calmer discourse on 4chan's Star Wars Games General than what people are saying here. Firstly, while TOR seems to have been left behind in the Force Awakens hype, EA clearly has not forgotten given Star Wars Battlefront is being released with a "Battle for Jakku" (you know, that new planet in the movie?) as one of the maps. Plus I think there's going to be a few more tie-ins too. Secondly: as I last heard, Disney made several exclusive deals with EA concerning the Star Wars game franchise. Lastly; what the heck do you want to tie TOR and Force Awakens together? Want to visit a planet from it like Jakku? We already have a desert planet (Battlefront 3 didn't) and the scenery is going to be more barren because the starship wrecks won't come for another 3000 years. The sheer fact that there's so many recognizable locations, names, and designs in TOR that apparently exist to OT present is baffling. (Anchorhead's aged amazingly given the political climate and instability of Tattooine, but there it is, three thousand years later, nevermind Sinar's apparently never once goes out of business despite regularly backing Empires which oppose eventual democratic rule.) I also seem to recall that TOR itself has neither been confirmed nor denied as canon, and why or why not? The actions of what our characters are doing 3000 years before the original trilogy might seem groundbreaking and revolutionary at the time, but pretty sure if you even asked the Legends EU Luke about Darth Nox he'd just give a blank look and ask 'who?'
  5. Actually, being able to replay the story, especially if it basically becomes a "hard mode" class story where all enemies as scaled up in level and rank might be pretty fun. Imagine finally fighting The Sith Emperor as an actual champion class enemy. Maybe for bonus points all the chapter bosses now pack new moves in their fight? Ohh! If we really want to go off into la-la land of pink unicorns and solid gold rainbows how about expanded companion dialogue and some of the old class storyline stuff being revamped with some new tech? Like maybe confronting some chapter bosses in freaking walkers and all that jazz?
  6. That's cheating, City of Heroes/Villains was the best there was, there is, and ever will be.
  7. So we're basically other Chosen Undead from Dark Souls? Excuse me, I'm going to start randomly invading people when they ask for help.
  8. I'd say the only real issue with that is that it's not THAT unreasonable. It doesn't sound like it requires any new animations, voice acting, new story instance, or even alter balance too much. It seems basically like a multi-companion crew skill mission (thus there's a basis of existing coding) then it's a bunch of text to be written. Not to say I wouldn't love this. On the note of companions: Ultimate Heroic Moment Team Attacks!: Basically, when you use your heroic moment, any class companions you've maxed affection for come out to assist for the duration of the Heroic Moment. They would be "slaved" to the active companion in that they attack what said companion attacks and such. But it still means you could have up to six companions (like if you had HK or Treek out plus the class companions) fighting at your side. Tanks juggling a target's aggro, DPSers laying in, healing comps horribly overwhelmed. And you can have this for up to two minutes. can you say: game breaker?
  9. Here's a fresh one from the OP (by the way, lots of great and outrageous suggestions from everyone so far): 1. Change the accents of various characters to fit the EU lore canon. (Coruscanti now speak with the Received Pronounciation accents, Imperials become American, and Mandoloreans are SPACE!AUSTRALIAN) 2. Allow players to choose alternate voice selections/accents. (Snipers can now be space australian crazed gunmen) Real problem is, I kind of like it the way it is now because I've grown fond of hearing the odd Scottish accent amongst Imperial NPCs.
  10. Basically what the thread title says; this is a thread where we post suggestions that we know are completely right out and know will never happen... But still want to at least share them. Starting off with my big one: 1. Inter-class interaction Basically class cutscenes will account for other players in your party being there and companions of other classes will interact a little. If the Imperial Agent brings three people who are definitely NOT Imperial Intelligence into HQ, Keeper will have other Watchers, Fixers, etc. call the peanut gallery aside to distract them from the briefings (effectively giving them their own cutscene), or actively include/deputize them in certain scenarios (especially if the IA vouches for them). Teammates will even get their own chance to pepper the cutscene with their own insights and dialogues. (Meanwhile, trying to stand in on Darth Baras talking to the Warrior ends with the BH and IA zapped into unconsciousness and booted from the instance while the Inquisitor gets force thrown and locked into a nearby broomcloset because Darth Baras is a freaking DARTH and doesn't give a damn about Kallig Legacy/Zash's apprentice, Imperial Intelligence that doesn't serve him, or Mandaloreans. this leads me to number 2,,,) 2. "But thou must... or get your rear handed to you" This mostly comes up with dealing with the likes of Darth Baras, but basically the SW gets plenty of chances to mouth off and Baras has killed for lesser comments. So one possibility is that it is possible to reach points in the story where angering powerful figures ends with you getting 'K.O.'d', booted from the instance to respawn, and then when you return to the instance you are given the choice again to either keep getting beaten up or get on your knees and beg. Sort of happened to the IA when dealing with Jadus. 3. More companion interactions and lines Okay, we can't kill our companions, I get that. But how about giving them some more lines in fights than "call dibs on the head?" Have them make special remarks if an enemy is higher leveled, lower leveled, weak, standard, strong, elite, etc. (Qyzen should totally spaz out with joy every time you beat a Champion) Have special dialogue if they've been summoned after you disembark from a speeder, some tweaks to their words if you've maxed their affection and/or romanced them. Adding to this: remember how you could find special companion gifts specifically related to a character in Dragon Age: Origins? Maybe something similar for each companion? Something you find in a story instance even, didn't find it? Too bad. Gone forever now. And finally with more companion interactions, even after maxing their affection score and romancing, we should still be able to speak with them every so often. Ramdomized little events like our loved ones asking us to go around the ship and shoo everyone else off for some alone time, your BFFs inviting you for drinks and cards. That kind of thing. 4. Swapping Star Ships Is your Mantis an hideous piece of trash? Well why not do a short questline that involves a space mission to hunt down another ship (sometimes a traitor or spyjacked if you're taking a different one from your faction), followed by a small instance of boarding inside that ship, killing/capturing everyone inside, and then taking that ship for your own? (This could also be used as a way to introduce some new player star ships) 5. Cooperative Space Missions Speaking of Star Ships, how about cooperative space missions where either you and your friends fly through parallel paths to each blast various objectives? Or maybe even just allow friends to take control of turrets and add some extra firepower? 6. Star Ship Customizations Not exactly stronghold level stuff, but mostly things like being able to adjust the color and tint on various surfaces of your ship's interior, give paint decals to the exterior (Flames and eight-balls on a Defender!), and add or subtract a few models from the interior of your ship (like a luxury theme that makes the interior of a ship look really ritzy, junker theme that makes it look patched together and worn, militant theme that makes everything boring and no-nonsense, freight theme, Force researcher theme, etc.) and those are 6 ideas I would love to see but know we will never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever get in a bajillion years and if Bioware had infinite money, resources, the power to bring back the dead, and EA's patience. What are some of yours?
  11. Actually, player sniper skills have a range of more than double that. But, yeah, snipers really should be able to hit folks from roughly 500 meters, easy. But that's a mechanics and balance limitation. Not terribly fun for everyone else stuck at 100 meter or so range engagements with their blasters and Force users needing to run that far. Either that or Force leap would need some serious range buffing. Which could be fun in its own way.
  12. In addition to what others have said, the Star Wars universe itself has seemed to advanced to points where further advancements are not always immediately noticeable. And example of this might be the decline in personal shield generator technology because, as I understand, blasters had grown strong enough to start punching through all but some of the best generators, or at least needed to be supplanted by legit armor.
  13. I'm disappointed. When I first heard of a "Temple Chair" exploit, I thought it was bugged to be so comfy, characters would refuse to stand up ever again and players would trick their rivals into taking a seat.
  14. >There are people who prefer unapologetic traitor, baldy McEdgemistress to honorable, dependable, if quirky Vector
  15. Don't even joke about it. Don't even TALK about it! Blizz has proven not only a good compliment to my BH, but also he's amazingly useful outside of fights in countless cutscenes as he makes a great little sales dude and fixes things faster than Mako. He's a little miracle worker. Anyway though, one from each companion: Warrior: Kaliyo Inquisitor: Ashara BH: Skage Agent: Kaliyo, Kaliyo, and Kaliyo Knight: Rusk, I don't hate the guy but he doesn't make a big impression on me. Even Scourge is interesting. Consular: Actually a legit, toughie, they're all pretty good.Gonna need more time. Trooper: Tanno Vik Smuggler: Corso. Sorry, man, but you're "be nice to ladies" thing gets old fast.
