You'll always be Cathy to me! Hehe <3
  6. Mmm... That does sound plausible. Me like. You have Cath's support! ^^
  7. I like the old schedule of Friday night ranked. Not entirely sure what happened to it, but a revival of something along those lines would be awesome. On second thought, it'll be legend, wait-for-it, dary. Legend-dary. A tournament in its empirical form is bound by time constraints, in that there's a start, and an end. On top of that, it'd be an organisational nightmare to coordinate between multiple 8 man teams with multiple worst-case scenarios possible. For example, if one member of a team's line up calls in sick or doesn't show, what options would be made available then? Would these options be in the spirit of a tournament? Not trying to dampen your spirits or anything, but I don't see a proper ranked tournament happening on Dalborra any time soon. Willingness and capability is not the issue, it simply is not feasible on a macro organisational scale. Furthermore, you have to take into account individual ego which is enlarged when the individual is under representation of a group. A competitive group tournament, where guild representation is a high likelyhood, might further antagonise the already fiery social situation of the PvP community in Dalborra. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see a ranked tournament on Dalborra, I'm just hoping the organisers know what they're getting into. This is on a completely different level from a 1v1 tournament where macro management isn't such a big issue. That being said, I honestly do wish you the best of luck! (:

  9. I am having problems with my security key, starting last night, in reference to: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=5859499 On hold with customer service right now to remove the security key. Hopefully I won't be put on hold for more than an hour, which would give me time to continuously attempt to login and bypass the 'downed' login server. This is bull****.
  10. Haha, if that is the case then I am mistaken and apologise for said assumption. However, there is a high possibility that all 3 Asia Pacific servers will be merged into one, and regardless of which server becomes the base, I would like for a continuity of RP on the new server if at all possible. Again, this is predicated on the other assumption that there is an eventuality of a combined Asia Pacific server, which may not happen any time soon, or ever, for that matter. The point of me posting here is to, at the very least, gauge interest in continuing RP should there be a hypothetical server merge. Ultimately, I'd just like to point out that in the hypothetical scenario of a server merge, there will in fact be a viable probability of establishing a decent RP community. Which means a server transfer isn't the only option, in short.
  11. I know that most on Gav Daragon do not look forward to the prospect of an Asia-Pacific server merge, but should it happen regardless, I'd like to implore the RPers of Gav Daragon to give Dalborra a second chance. I cannot help but agree that while the majority might be uneducated and cynical of Role-Play, I believe that the purposes RP fulfils transcends external influence and is instead highly reliant on a community core. I love RP, the nature of storytelling, living the experiences of the characters we create, acknowledgement of the character as an entity to be respected outside of the self, etc. I wanted to play on Gav Daragon, but ultimately, RP wasn't the 'be all end all' for me when it comes to the game. Realistically, even among RPers, the story will at times come secondary to the experience of the game as it was intended. It is the balanced availability of both story based play and traditional MMO functions that can bring fulfilment. What am I asking? Should, through the mystical powers of the force, you be forced to merge with Dalborra, don't feel so bad about it. I understand that there are viable alternatives, such as moving the community (or close friends) to a US based server for RP's sake, and to be in a perceived 'better community', but then you'd deprive the only Asia Pacific server of a strong RP community. I'm currently in my last week of the semester, following which I had planned to, at the very least, attempt to initiate role-play on Dalborra. This will include guides on character profile creation, etiquettes of RP, mechanics of RP interaction, scheduled weekly RP meetings, etc. I understand that Gav Daragon has its own separate forum, and that most of what I intend to do can be found there. I was hoping that should the servers be merged, we could use that to maintain the Asia Pacific RP community. Do let me know what you guys currently on Gav Daragon think about this concept. Feel free to use vulgarities and insults, catharsis is good for the emotional well being (or so I'm told). To answer the poster above me, most believe the three Asia-Pacific servers will be merged into Dalborra because of the staggeringly higher population it currently boasts as in comparison to the other two.
  12. Seconded. As someone mentioned somewhere in an earlier post I can't be bothered to recall (with no prejudice to the poster whoever it may be), it takes some serious balls to even compete. They deserve recognition. I'm sure you can get the participant's names from a video or something to that effect, haha Though on that note, no one should feel pressured to compete as it would contradict the spirit of this tournament. I'm sad that I won't get to cheer for you come Sunday Daff, but I respect your decision to step down all the same (:
  13. It's just come to my realisation that the Sunday of the grand finals is the first day of Chinese New Year, which is to me what Christmas is to most of you. Should the competition timing for that day remain the same as the schedule for past tournaments, I will most likely not be able to reach home on time as I have commitments where tradition is concerned. There is a very high chance that I would not be able to get online in time for the start of the tournament, as such, I would like for Kevayrts (Sniper from NS) to take my place should the organisers deem such a replacement acceptable in my circumstance. If I'm not mistaken, he came in 3rd after a very close match with me and therefore deserves the position in my absence. This request is completely unbiased by guild affiliation (Haha, I made a joke). But srsly, I'm not going to be available. Unless the starting time is pushed back for like, at least an hour. Which would be stupid. Or one of my grandparents die. Which would still make me not able to go cause of sadness (I just touched some wood there so it's all good). I will shut up now.
  14. In my years of playing MMOs, I've never experienced lag below 200ms. On SWTOR, I have been, and will most likely continue to be, playing at 450-500ms on a good day. I get 300-360ms on US servers so it's not a big improvement. In my opinion, it concurrently makes the game more interesting and frustrating. All the problems as beautifully explained by Mosh, you KNOW are going to happen. You KNOW that there's no point in running to a healing item in a warzone cause the person you're up against WILL grab it before you. You KNOW that you'll never get the first stun in or be able to remain behind a player for backstab. You KNOW that LOS tactics or running through fires could backfire on you because you'll just snap back 2 or even 5 metres. All the bad effects of a high ping can be predicted. They're not lag spikes. I treat it as any other mechanic in the game. Yes, you are handicapped, that much is without a doubt. Is it a viable excuse for not winning? No. If you KNOW that there's no point in playing a backstabbing operative or assassin then don't. If you KNOW that you'll never get the ball, then don't try. Focus on what you CAN do, teammates are there to handle the rest. Have sucky PuGs? Suck it up or leave the warzone. If it weren't for those ******* F2Ps the game might have already gone bankrupt. Think your guildies suck? Then don't be in that guild. Simple. More often than not, circumstances which you believe to be out of your control simply require you to adopt a different mindset and approach. Having a high ping is not the problem, your attitude towards it is. Saying that you lost because of a high ping devalues the effort put in by your opponent. More importantly, it devalues the choices you made during the course of that endeavour as you deliberately made choices that are highly susceptible to high ping. kthxbai
