  1. 1. How do you think your Gunslinger spec is perceived by other classes? In PvP, I believe that most other classes perceive the Sharpshooter spec to be a threat to light-armored healers and a decent "defense turret" for friendly healers to stand beside, but little else. This belief is continually reinforced by the fact that other DPS classes (Sentinels, DPS spec'd Vanguards, and even Sages) frequently out-DPS Sharpshooters in PvP matches. 2. How do you perceive your own spec? I believe that the Sharpshooter has a lot of potential, but that issues regarding the weakness of their primary damage type (white/ranged) and the ability for enemies to use CC or anti-cover skills to negate the Sharpshooter's signature skill, Hunker Down (a bug that has been present for months now), cause the spec to be less enjoyable to play. In many cases, the Sharpshooter feels more useful as a knockback/CC turret than as an actual DPS class. While this play-style is still useful on occasion, it does deviate drastically from the intended function of the Sharpshooter: a ranged DPS spec.
  2. While I understand that players aren't being required to transfer, it is noteworthy that many of us have entire guilds (and even server populations) that are tired of the low server population and are prepared to transfer as soon as the option is available. For us, the choice becomes, "Do I stay here and watch the population dwindle even more due to transfers, or do I give up the names that I was up at 6:00AM on release day to reserve?" I personally named several of my characters relatively common names, and if my server is not a destination server, I am certain that I will be forced to rename all of those characters (which I have invested a very considerable amount of time in). This is not an ideal situation.
  3. I can definitely relate to your post, OP. I have joined several WZ's solo and have literally received no rewards because I joined a losing team that was being dominated completely. Tonight, I solo queued and was placed in an Alderaan match with four other players. This made the match a 5v8, so naturally we got destroyed in fairly short order. We captured one turret and held it for 2-3 minutes tops (not even long enough for me to get a defense medal), then the enemy captured all three turrets and farmed us for the remainder of the round. I was healing constantly (when I wasn't dead), and still only managed to get two medals for my trouble. So, after being killed over and over again for 10-ish minutes, I finished the round with absolutely no rewards. How is this even a remotely good way of motivating players to PvP? Simply put, it isn't.
  4. I agree. But my point was that he hid his corruption for years, and he was very much a Sith the entire time. So, being 100% evil doesn't necessarily mean that a Sith has to show the full effects of their corruption.
  5. I disagree. Palpatine hid his evil for a very long time before he revealed himself as a Sith lord. Also, this is a game, and customization and individual style is a big part of any multi-player game, especially an MMORPG.
  6. Thanks for the support, everyone!
  7. I really like the idea and the implementation of the Sith Corruption feature. The orange/yellow eyes are very cool looking and make my Sith Warrior feel very authentic. What I don't like, however, is the super-pale skin and the weird veins around the eyes and mouth that come at higher Dark Side levels. For this reason, I end up turning my Sith Corruption off once I've gone past Dark I on any character. I really like the Dark I look, and would love to keep it regardless of how much more evil my character becomes. So my proposal is this: create a slider that allows players to adjust the amount of the Sith Corruption that they display. I would love to be able to reach Dark V and wear the gear, have a purely evil Sith, etc. and still be able to maintain the Dark I look. I think this would be an awesome addition to the game and would really round out the Sith Corruption feature completely.
  8. PvPvE is definitely the choice for me. The thing I dislike the most about Ilum PvP is that it has no purpose other than a giant zerg vs zerg fight to get some Valor. In order for that planet to be enjoyable again, it really needs to have some sort of fortress system, or something to that effect. Also, having a city, fortress, or outpost somewhere in the game (not necessarily on Ilum) that attracts a high population, and has a large PvP area outside of one of it's gates (with a safe spawn area nearby) would be nice. The best open world PvP I have experienced in other MMO's has always taken place in areas that are easily accessible and that make new players want to try out PvP. When visiting Ilum, I find myself running into the exact same people who I regularly run into in Warzones. The new players that do visit the PvP area on Ilum don't seem to stay long since there's so much open space, and riding around looking for the action tends to do little more than get you killed. I personally went to the PvP area on Ilum shortly after reaching level 50 and didn't come back for over a month because I didn't see the point. The same can be said for the Outlaw's Den. It's a cool idea, but it's so far out of the way, and there is very little chance of new players stumbling upon it and witnessing a big PvP battle (and if they do, they will be auto-flagged and just die instantly anyway). If open world PvP takes place in an area that is more accessible to players, and clearly visible to people who aren't regular PvPers (without forcing them to engage in the fight), it will attract more attention and be a lot more fun in the end. Watching some higher level players PvP at a city gate and thinking, "Cool! If I keep leveling up, I can get in on a fight like that someday!" is one of the things that originally got me really interested in MMO's.
  9. I would like to see something done that gives Gunslingers some defense against Operatives/Scoundrels (and, to a lesser extent, Shadows and Assassins). Getting jumped, stun-locked, and killed without any chance of survival at all is simply not fun. I know that this is not just a Gunslinger issue, but since we're bound to cover, we tend to get this treatment very frequently.
