  1. 1. /force persuade I am Darth Nox, that is all you need to know. 2. Defeating the Hutt Archon, and securing the planet of Makeb for Imperial exploitation all while convincing the rest of the galaxy the planet has been destroyed. Defeating my former rival Darth Thanaton and securing his seat on the Dark Council. And while not one of my greater achievements, certainly one of the more pleasurable ones: killing Overseer Harkun upon my completion of the the Sith Academy. 3. I achieve success through ruthless, single minded determination and personal lust for power. No one stands in my way, be they innocent or otherwise. 4. Moral compass? 5. Force lightning to subdue the creature and bend it to my will. After that, probably fry that damn waiter who can't ever seem to refill my drink on time.
  2. I like ashara. xalek and khem either don't do enough damage or die to easy. adronikus has better aoe, but his single target is lacking. and talos is a healer.
  3. I am in pretty much the exact same position you are, left right around 1.3 and started playing again about a week ago. So far the best info I've found is here in the forums. Doesn't seem to be to much in developed theorycraft yet for 2.0. I know the old rotations seem to work just fine (lightning and heals anyways). And the new talent trees seem to be pretty straight forward, unless you're running a hybrid spec.
  4. Actually, diminishing returns does apply to roots/snares/stuns/etc... The more they are used against a specific target the less effect they have. From the WoWWiki but http://www.wowwiki.com/Diminishing_returns The idea is to prevent players from removing people from the fight simply by reapplying a CC. Used to be a big issue in WoW until they started adding the diminishing returns. As for the thread, I love my sorcerer. I have been a healer for most of the game so far, so slightly skewed. But overall is a great class to just play. As far as dps viability... it is a game after all, have fun. The story did suck though. Seemed very underdeveloped with some massive plot holes, for which there is a good reason: the lead writer of the inquisitor story left BW during the original development, so yea the story got screwed.
  5. The top of my wish list would be an in game combat log. Doesn't have to be fancy, just functional. Second would be legacy/inheritance gear that actually mattered. Preferably stuff that leveled with the player (hint, hint, wink, wink). As it is, they're really nothing special as they will be out leveled in a relatively short amount of time. Definitely not worth the price of admission. Lastly, more functionality with crafting skills. They're useful, to a point. Nothing really that I can't pick up in game as I level. With the exception of the 2 rakata pieces, can also be gotten through other means, there is really no reason at all to even have crafting skills. I like how in WoW, for an example, after farming a ton of mats I could craft a couple of BiS items (or almost BiS). Made it worth my time, and allowed for me to be viable in progression raiding without having to pray to the loot gods that the piece I wanted dropped and I won the roll.
  6. So here's what I'm hearing, more mechanics less pew pew. When the majority of players are dps, you guys just want them to run around the boss dodging aoe, mindlessly pushing buttons, etc.... and not actually doing any dps. As has been stated, enrage timers are dps checks. The reason for the dps check is so that a fresh group of 50's can't just walk in and own the place. Where would the fun be if you hit 50, and didn't have to worry about gearing up. If your fresh 50, wearing all greens, could walk into any OP and as long as you could handle the mechanics you'd be fine. That hunt for that next BiS item so that you can burn the big bad monster, is what drives end game content. Personally, I feel that mechanics are getting out of control. I have no idea how many times over the years I've wiped because someone missed a cue and didn't run to a certain place at a certain time. Or they didn't cast a specific ability at a certain time. End game content shouldn't be easy by any stretch, but when you wipe for 2 hours on a boss fight because the margin of error for the mechanics is zilch, well it sucks.
  7. Agree/Disagree, in WoW when they first put the cross server cues I ran across a few instances where someone would ninja everything. The vast majority of players though were decent people to run an instance with. And then blizzard added the feature to prevent ninjas, which just made it nicer. The biggest problem with cross server ques (or ques in general) is baddies, which you aren't going to do away with by running around the imperial fleet spamming for a PUG either.
  8. I said the exact same thing when I saw the first legacy stuff.
  9. here here, but better yet... like Palpatine wore, considering he is the inspiration for the class. However, I do really like the Dreadmaster pvp armor
  10. Overall I would say 6/10 pros: cons: overall:
