  1. Arguing about what the Vong did, or whether Sith or jedi are good or evil based on our real life world is pointless and it seems like that's what is going on here to some extent. Morality or good vs. evil is dictated by the creator, in our world it was God, in the SW universe it was George Lucas. If something like what the Vong did happened in our world it would undeniably be considered morally wrong and evil because we have a standard set in stone (literally, haha...ok the ten commandments joke is not that funny). It's also not really accurate to just say it's all about one's viewpoint either. A whole culture/group of people may be living a certain way and it may seem normal to them but that doesn't automatically make what they are doing correct. If we all of a sudden discovered an entire nation of cannibalistic people in our world who constantly back-stabbed each other and tortured and killed children, it may be a part of normal life for them but that doesn't make what they are doing any less wrong or morally evil. For the Vong culture, just because it is how they've always remembered living doesn't automatically mean they are not evil, it just comes down to my point in the next paragraph. For the answer to all this we need to look to GL for that standard, what does he say to be good and what does he say to be evil, or does he say it's all relative and there is no good or evil. The Jedi, Sith, Vong can't be measured by our real world standards because they don't exist here, they exist in a galaxy completely created and controlled by GL. Nobody can win a debate here by presenting viewpoints based on real world morality when the universe in question runs by different rules by a different creator.
  2. One could argue that Palpatine was too engrossed in torturing Luke to notice Vader, but yes you'd think with how powerful and smart he was he'd be paying more attention to Vader. I think you hit it right on with the suspense comment. While it wasn't a huge story change it was a major atmosphere change that made a big difference in the experience of watching the scene. I like to collect the different editions of movies but I'm still happiest when watching the original release versions.
  3. Vader screaming no wasn't actually a major theme change. From the perspective of the actual story it wasn't really much of a noticeable change at all, he still threw Palps down the shaft. It was a highly annoying change and one that wasn't necessary, but it didn't change the story.
  4. http://images.wikia.com/ogres/images/4/40/Wswccgcards.jpg http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Wars_Customizable_Card_Game Yep, and I still have my collection Nice work on these cards though, if there weren't a card game already this would be a cool way to create one for yourself.
  5. My question too. Do you mean medium, as in a choice of how to tell the stories (movie, TV series, novel, comic book, etc.)?
  6. I have kind of a love/hate relationship with KT books... On one hand I love the Mando books she's written (Hard Contact - True Colors, and Order 66), I have this kind of separate mental sandbox of the Star Wars universe where her super soldier commandos can exist when I read those books and can enjoy them. The rest of her Star Wars books I don't really like, and especially hate the killing of Mara Jade and how that was handled. On the opposite end of the spectrum for best SW authors, I have to agree, my top three are Timothy Zahn, Michael A. Stackpole, and Aaron Allston.
  7. hmm no mention of Jarael? http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/starwars/images/thumb/5/55/Jaraelactiondustinweaver.jpg/430px-Jaraelactiondustinweaver.jpg Though if we are talking just the movies then Leia of course.
  8. My all time favorite is Obi-Wan-Kenobi because Sir Alec Guinness is a sir(no pun intended;)) and Ewan McGregor is a boss I also love (in no particular order): Grand Admiral Thrawn Gilad Pellaeon Wedge Antilles Mace Windu Boba Fett Corran Horn
  9. I'm with this guy ------^ I think if you take into account the Mandalorians (which are most likely to be the best BHs) they are trained to fight from a very young age and if they are good that means they get all the high paying bounties and can afford all the top notch gear. This gives them an edge over troopers IMO. Though, yes, a typical BH will not be as skilled and won't be able to afford the gear that the trooper will have provided by the government. This is all from lore perspective, from game perspective it all depends on the player's skill and gear.
  10. been a long time since I've seen that version and didn't remember him being the voice for Legolas in that; also didn't see it listed in Anthony Daniels resume of movies on imdb when I checked before, must have missed it.
  11. What is this supposed to mean? C-3PO was played by Anthony Daniels and Legolas was played by Orlando Bloom, not sure what you were trying to say there.
  12. It takes more than just fighting ability to be a good bounty hunter. In my opinion to be a good bounty hunter you need: tracking ability, cunning/street smarts, a good arsenal, fighting ability, luck, and reputation. The most important of these in my opinion are tracking ability, cunning, and luck. Boba Fett - has the whole package, all the necessary things to make you great Jango Fett - like Boba, but a little more inclined toward fighting than cunning/smarts which in my opinion ranks him just a little lower IG-88 - great and unrelenting Dengar - polished resume and managed to retire alive Bossk / TOR Bounty Hunter - not sure on this, both are good, but I haven't gotten very far in the bounty hunter story of the game to really know much about the TOR hunter yet. Honorable mentions, considered but not included: Cad Bane, not overly familiar with him but he likely belongs in some lists. Kir Kanos and Cade Skywalker, both are great but not enough of what they've done and such have been documented in my opinion for me to include them in the list. Durge, is a beast but considering how long he lived, you'd expect him to be pretty good, also, he seems a little more warrior/soldier than bounty hunter to me.
  13. After first watching that clip I initially considered your theory as well. Though, when watching it I noticed that Malgus' blade does shorten while driving it down on Satele Shan so it is obvious that the tip of the blade is getting absorbed somewhere. This pretty much rules out a straight up force field block since it wouldn't cause any change to the length of the blade (I know, some lightsabers have controls to change the length but I doubt Malgus had one like that). Given this I quickly discarded the mini force field theory. The best and so far closest to official theory I've seen is the Tutaminis ability. *sidenote on the wiki - yes that is a good place to look but don't take it as solid fact, the wiki is peer edited and as such can be and has been wrong.
  14. This... Though something like canon can be chalked up to a simple typo, it's when people spell stuff like Vader or Windu wrong multiple times in a post that really makes me cringe.
