  1. How many active developers do you think are on this title still? What happened to all the original devs from the start?
  2. I appreciate the feedback guys... I have one last question... What is the state of the development? I mean pretty much all the original people behind this game are gone right? Does the game still feel vibrant in terms of Releases/Content/Development Team/Communications etc.
  3. Thanks for the replies guys! Any other advise you can give for someone who has just returned since pretty much launch?
  4. No I don't want to spend money, its just that I want to be caught up... content wise. What have i missed expansion wise since launch? Just Hut Cartel?
  5. Hey, quick question... Do I need to buy Hut Cartel or any other expansion content? Or do I have it...? I don't see anywhere to buy it... I know the Revan expansion is coming out and I can pre-order, but is there anything I need from Launch to Now?
  6. Will we ever see new Chapters in our storyline? Or more development in our Companion Relationships?
  7. But who planned all this? And are they still around to continue their vision? Thats the disjointed feeling... it feels like the people who created the game are not the same people that are patching it up/together now.
  8. Hey Guys, I recently started playing again and I can't help but feel that with all the changes that have happened to Bioware over the year, is it possible that the game is kind of "all-over-the-place" in terms of direction? I mean, I remember just before launch... the development staff was crazy enthusiastic about everything, talking about upcoming projects and this and that... how the story will unfold etc. Now, the game direction feels like they themselves don't really know what will happen in 6 months from now. I mean, is there even a continuous story being told anymore? The Hut stuff seems so random... also the whole "Expansion" seems so random... Makeb? *** is Makeb... you know... I just feel like this is being run without passion... without enthusiasm and without vision.
  9. Thank you for all the replies, I've only played very little so far but here are my initial impressions: 1) Ability Delay I have done a bit of PvP and it is just as bad as it was in Feb. 2012. This is stunning to me, it was the primary reason I left. Suddenly enemies will warp across the screen, abilities lag at times... snares don't apply immediately but at times after a 1-2 sec delay if I am using it within a rotation. I can still interrupt my own instant cast... Although it appears they change the way the mounting up animation works. No longer does it have a Cast Bar? This means it cannot be shown (as in previous videos it was) how one gets dismounted if moving after the cast completed. 2) Endgame Content is more engaging I cannot yet comment on this obviously. 3) Community is more stable on servers It does appear like more people are playing, server consolidation appears to have worked? 4) More optimization - Lesser load times... Load times and optimization appear to be just as bad... I mean, I cannot yet be 100% as I have not played enough but its still roughly the same I believe. 5) General Bugs being fixed Cannot comment yet, I haven't come across any real 'bugs' not related to optimization/ability delay. My wife isn't happy about it, she complains that she always has to "Re-Zoom Out" after loading somewhere etc. I think we will try it a bit more but it looks like Guild Wars 2 might get a shot from us.... at least we got League for sure! Thank you all for your replies
  10. Hey, A lot of overwhelming changes... I'm giving it a try for a month... I hope these things are taken care of and fixed: 1) Ability Delay 2) Endgame Content is more engaging 3) Community is more stable on servers 4) More optimization - Lesser load times... 5) General Bugs being fixed One big worry I have however is that now with the F2P focus etc. We will likely never see any progress with companion stories... new companions... voice overs etc. Or am I wrong? Perhaps we will buy new companions via cartel market only? And have DLC Type stories? This would suck Thank you for all the replies, I've only played very little so far but here are my initial impressions: 1) Ability Delay I have done a bit of PvP and it is just as bad as it was in Feb. 2012. 11. Hello, the following text is 'exactly' and 'without edit' what I have submitted to Bioware upon cancelling my subscription... I apologize if it is offensive to you but its simply exactly how I feel about this game. I truly and really wanted to like it as I have followed it since 'before' this website even existed (rumours on mmorpg.com about Bioware Austin Studio etc.). Enjoy: Reason I quit: For Another Game Details: World of Warcraft "Far superior to SW:TOR... I gave you guys a very fair chance... this game "sucks". 1) No Combat Log or Analysis of any kind. You guys are ridiculous in your endeavour to make a mass appeal successful casual game that you are completely blind to the fact that supporting the "Top End" players and "Hardcores" developes the long term relationship with your playerbase. No, I am not saying "cater" to the Hardcores (and the arguement that only 1% of the population is "Hardcore" does not mean its less relevant). You need to understand three things: a) Supporting the "Top End" (Hardcore), is not the same as "catering to" b) The fact that the Hardcore playerbase is lets say 1% of overall, does not make it any less important to support than the 99%. c) The Top End players (Hardcores), drive your game... even if they are vastly outnumbered by the casual side. Top End drives the Bottom End. You should know this. As a decently experienced player, I have "no" desire to play SW:TOR at all. Not seeing my or others performance is ridiculous, I want to analyze, I want to improve... I want to compete. This is fun. PvE is far too easy, there is nothing "epic" in the game at all to achieve. Everything is a complete waste of time. When it feels like a waste of time... it isn't fun. PvP is frustrating to the max, it is horribly implemented and designed. Likely Mythic's fault... what a god awful company. How they can continue to design games because of DAoC **** is beyond me. That game was garbage, the PvP or (herp derp) RvR was just as garbage. You want to see some proper PvP? Skill? do top end Arena in WoW... yea "top end" as in 2800+... (once again, draw the distinction between me saying that "everyone" wants that and "supporting that") You don't need to "cater" to the 2800+ but you NEED TO BE ABLE TO SUPPORT THEM. Currently SW:TOR not only, does not support them... but insults them by being so "****". 2) Not competitive at all because no way of seeing damage meters or anything "fun" like that. 3) Boss Encounter Designs are ****. Basically, because your playerbase is so garbage (because you don't support any higher level play through performance analysis tools etc.), all the encounters are designed far too easy. The only time when it is "hard" is when you have some retarded enrage timer. Guess what, enrage timers =/= difficult. Sure, some nice DPS test with enrage timers are ok, but not every freaking boss... thats lazy design. 4) PvP is horrendous ****. Guys, are you kidding me? Every class has way too much CC at its disposal on low CD. First of all, on my Gunslinger I have 2 Knockbacks (independent CDs) (1 with a Root), 1 Ranged Root, 1 Melee Stun. All on seperate CDs... This is pretty much how every class looks, add to that the fact that there is no proper diminishing returns on CC as well as the "horrible" design of the Resolve System and you have a PvP System which is not at all competitive and does not reward precision/timed/skilled playing. Instead, everyone (without caring for timing) spams their CCs and thats that. 5) Convenience, this is acceptable but I will mention it anyways. Disbanding groups when WZ queue pops... ***. No ready checks, no /roll options on launch... no "Real ID" type features... etc. I understand those issues, not the reason I am quitting but its noticed. 6) Companions and Story... it gets old. Once 50, your game looks like **** to anyone not completely retarded. Anyone who is an "experienced" gamer, especially in terms of MMOs, will not play long after hitting 50. This game has nothing to offer at all. It is horrendously noticeable that your entire design and development team is made up of non-gamers. Likely 30-40 year olds who have never been "good" at an MMO. Yes "we just play for fun", its just supposed to be fun and all... thats true, but hey, every thought that WoW is so successful because it allows for near infinite self improvement? Self Advancement and Progression? In WoW the "Skillcap" is so high that "very" few people would ever reach it... this is why people play it! Your development team is obviously completely misguided and has no idea what they're doing. Likely, as I've said before 30-40 year olds, who have never "seriously" raided or PvP'ed at the absolute Top End in WoW (yes having done anything in any other game is meaningless... lets face it, be honest.). Just like supporting your "Hardcore" Gamers is important to the health of the overall game, its also a fact that developers/designers who actually have Hardcore Gaming Backgrounds, will make better games. You guys, likely a bunch of RPers and beyond casual players who got continuously kicked out of groups in WoW and generally underperformed. Ok, so, this all seems to be a long rant, and likely no-one will have read it... but believe it or not. I actually did have some positive time in the game (though not going to mention those parts here as I am quitting afterall) but I wanted to be fair and really let you know why I am quitting and "never" returning (no matter what changes you bring in). I've played straight since December 13th and given this a "very" fair chance but that is it. I realize that I seem like one hell of an ******e, I am sorry if that is so. It is merely because I wanted so badly to like SW:TOR and to leave WoW for it. However, you truly have disappointed me and done nothing but made me realize why WoW is WoW.... ugh... now I have to deal with Pandas... I just hope Emerald Dream is next..."
  12. No, Left is Left, Right is Right, Up is Up and Down is Down.

    Epic Warzone? 40+ man?

So you all say large scale Warzones would be impossible?.... I cry.... :'(
  14. Xcore

    Way too much CC!?

You have no idea what youre talking about... I don't have light armor or low HP... LOL
  15. Xcore

    Way too much CC!?

Timing and planning becomes rather irrelevant when everyone has this amount of CC... I have to interrupt this healer's throughput, I dont really care about planning... I'll use Blind to interrupt BIS big heal.... If I miss it, make it... Who cares because next ill stun him anyways, then ill knock him off the platform.... Perhaps ill root him and nuke him from above then... Etc. Meanwhile, he also has 3+ CCs for me... So, Instead of precision planning and timing, we're now playing CC Wars, spamming CC at each other because we have so freaking much.
