  1. Different abilities, different results. If you can't see how force cloak is good, then I'm sad for you, but can't help anyhow.
  2. Lowering the cooldfown on force speed with the current change would be silly OP, I'm sure you have thought about that. I mean, having 10 seconds cool down reduction over the changes made in 1.4, are you kidding me ? It's like permanent force speed ...
  3. There is arguably a few things needing fixing, but medals definitely doesn't. Whoever does a good job gets 6-8 medals even when being rollstomped, that's a good thing.
  4. Snipers/GS has been as lethal as PT/VG and Mara/Sent since what, 1.2 ? but the forum being mostly made of ranged whiners, they didn't notice. I would prefer fight a team of 4 PT/VG or 4 Mara/sent any time of the day over a team of 4 snipers, that's for sure. But what most people see is : "that guy leaped to me ! nerf !!!!!!!!!!!!!"
  5. OP, I'll be blunt. PT/VG as you say it yourself put out damage very easily. In a team situation, it's more or less balanced. In a Pug situation however ... it's not. Not because it's turning the tide of the game, any decent PvP player knows that decent healers turn out the tide of the games WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY more than any PT/VG out there, but because as you say it yourself, they're pulling out good dps numbers. As it's clear most people doesn't know how to recognize who made a difference (objective, healing, guard) and who didn't, they tend to consider PT op. Sure, it's easy to pull good dps with a PT/VG, but that's not making a class OP, but good numbers make a point at the end of game, and PT/VG are good for numbers, that's for sure. If the guy is decent, he can even get some insane guard medals while being pyro and not using tank stance : NOT ACCEPTABLE for the baddies, the guy actually learnt to use taunt, and learning to play shouldn't be tolerated ============= NERF !!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. I see where you come from, but what are the solutions you're offering ? It's a MMO, I want to play with friends, because you know, that's a MMO. Sure thing, and I won't prove you wrong on that, that is creating imbalance for the other team, just because I know 3 other people will follow instructions. Other games have tried the "no premade way" and it ain't working either, people are getting pissed off because they can't play with friends. My conclusion ? PvP is a rude girl-friend, it kicks you in the balls if you're not good enough at what you're doing, or if you're not doing what you're supposed to. But I fail to see any possibilities. Prevent me to join with friends ? tell my sub good bye. Allow me to join with friends ? tell your win rate good bye
  7. Skill or comprehension of the game is largely underplayed. Why avoid a ravage with gore running when you can come on forums and QQ ? One requires (monkey level) skill, the other ones require the ability to write on a forum.

    Dev posting

You simply cannot discuss on PvP forums. As a dev, reading this forum would mean quitting their job probably, just like for many players reading it means unsub.
  9. I tend to wonder what the hell Dps Sorcs expected as a buff. The 10m on the stun that some here calls a nerf is irrelevant. Any decent sorcerer uses the stun as a defensive ability mainly. The instant KB/increased range makes up easily for its radius decrease, and it will make skilled players very efficient. Plenty of buff in the trees, reduced force speed cd, on a 20 seconds CD ... Most leaps are on 15 seconds CD, think about it again ... it will definitely be a hell to kill a sorcerer now as a melee, 5 seconds of dps every 20 seconds, if the shield is not up ... However, I would tend to think only the worst sorc/sage are QQing, others I'm sure are very happy. But I guess some of the sorcerers here would have loved such a patch notes : Force Stun now deals 5000 damage, and stuns for 20 seconds. Force Lightning now root the target for 4 seconds before snaring it for 75%. Force Shield no longer applies a buff on the sorcerer and can be recasted instantly/constantly while always applying its effect. Force speed no longer have any cooldown. All Damage abilities have been buffed by 30%
  10. Shh, you just spoiled the self confidence of hundred of baddies thinking only gear was refraining them to be good...
  11. With random googling sources. Look where the most popular American sport is ranked. http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_the_most_popular_sport_in_the_world Most Frequently Cited Ranked Lists 1) Football (American Soccer): 3.3-3.5 billion fans (Europe, Africa, Asia, Americas, etc.) 2) Cricket: 2-3 billion fans (India, UK, Pakistan, Asia, Australia, etc.) 3) Field hockey: 2-2.2 billion fans (Asia, Europe, Africa, Australia) 4) Tennis: Around 1 billion fans (Europe, Americas, Asia) 5) Volleyball: Around 900 million fans (Asia, Europe, Americas, Australia) 6) Table tennis: Around 900 million fans (Asia, Europe, Africa, Americas) 7) Baseball: Around 500 million fans (US, Japan, Cuba, Dominican Republic) 8) Golf: Around 400 million fans (US, Canada, Europe) 9) Gridiron (American football): 390-410 million fans (US mainly) 10) Basketball: Not more than 400 million fans (US, Canada mainly) Read more: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_the_most_popular_sport_in_the_world#ixzz24JkRGuEm
  12. You sure live in this 300 Million people country who thinks they are the majority over 7 billion people.
  13. You're a paying customer so you have the right to log in the game and do whatever people does. You have equal chance when it comes to everything in this game. Sure this chance are proportional to your time and gaming skills. I'm a human being and I have the right to work in a company and win money. My ability to win money is however proportional to the energy I give my job and my working skills. I don't get where it's hard to get. If I agree with your point, then I could, I don't know, say "I'm a paying customer and I have the right to ask for an equal chance to win Warzones than anyone else, regardless of my time or skills. Please change the medal and win system so it's entirely randomized."
  14. It wouldn't solve much. The only solution would be to make the game a 5-skills-max game, make it extremely easy to play to even the difference between a good and a bad player, make most WZ a deathmatch only map (easy to understand), and eventually, you'll have balanced game. Any PvP games that counts on players skill to even things out is failing hard. There is too much disparity between players, be it PvP and PvE. In PvP, it's worse because you can't learn a script. Look how many people QQ for LI HM being too hard with a 4-man group, and consider some people are even capable of 2-manning it. No, you want a balanced PvP game, make it a very easy game, accessible to a 5-year old boy, requiring no learning curve. Yes, I know, that defeats the purpose of competition, but that's how balance can be achieved. There is a reason why soccer is the most popular sport in the world. You can easily play it without knowing much about it, everyone can run and everyone can shoot in something. Try to do the same with Ice Hockey, you would need a firm 4 years to learn how to skate well enough to be able to do decent. Balancing things is not possible without making it insanely dumb, and no amount of gear removal will change this.
  15. Reading PvP forum learnt me that, Marauder/Sent, PT/Vanguard, Jug/Guardian, Operative/Smuggler, Sniper/Gunslinger, Assassin/Shadow, are OPs in at least one of their iteration. Arguably, Sorcerer/Sage and Merc/Commandos are least OPs than other and doesn't scale as good at high level of gear. Balance is not perfect, but is hell close. A vocal minority has been QQing on the forum, inversely proportionally to GW2 release timeframe, claiming that this game required no skills due to gear, whereas many players have proven providing screenshots and experience, that they were doing just fine in recruit/BM. Truth is that the PvP system in SWTOR actually presents an insane discrepancy between the good and the average player, rarely offering a balanced game, increasing frustration. How many times have you finished a Huttball by a tie ? how many times have you finished it by 6-0/0-6. Ranked Warzones queuing problem is only a community problem (and unfortunately came late). Fact is most of the team only queues up when victory is assured (or when team is the A+ possible team) rather than just signing to have fun with 7 other friends. Bioware cannot solve this issue, this is a mentality issue. People cannot loose in MMORPG anymore, they do not tolerate it. If I lost, it's because : - This class is OP - The other team has better gear - Resolve was broken and I was CCed where I shouldn't - My team mates are *******. - The PvP in this game sucks. Never the real reason actually happened - I could have been better - I can improve myself - This player is better than me - This team was more organized - Those guys are way more experienced. Resolve has one problem. It's complex, and has an important learning curve. It makes again good players shine, and bad players worse. See 2. The game engine cannot handle heavy players load. That's unfortunate, and that clearly kills World PvP. Among everything the developers can change, the game engine is definitely not one of those. Improvements sure can be made, but no game engine can be changed so much in a matter of only 9 months. It would require the whole engine to be totally revamped, and would require the work of a full 3d engine engineers during months. That cannot come without a way healthier playerbase. Solo queuing for RWZ defeats the very purpose of Ranked Warzones. Again see 2. No Pug Ranked would ever have a chance against a half decent ranked team. The only thing it would provide would be to offer a better source of ranked wz comms. To work, it would require in-game voicecomm, solo PvP rating, and gear checks. I see a few problems with this, especially with in-game voicecomm. The very purpose of MMORPG is generally to make friend and to be part of a community. Sure, modern MMOs made pugging a majority, and pug players (the one complaining that you even need a guild to do Ops HM, Ranked WZ, or any kind of "competitive" activity) want everything to be made by that standard, where it obviously goes to the opposite of what competitive would mean. See how many players QQed about LI HM being too hard, just because they can't put a team together, use voice, and deal with the instance in 45 minutes top. Solo queuing for RWZ is exactly the same : people want the competitive content without putting effort into it. They want to play NBA starting basketball 1 month ago. As someone said earlier, Devs cannot win such a conversation. No matter the solution they use - They can troll the forum, they loose (see the stunlocking operatives) - They can explain their intention (see shadow tanks nerf), they loose - they can ignore, they loose Fact is, I'm looking forward to the game company who would produce a game like they WANT IT, and never ever move from that line no matter the forum. Have the people who loves it play it, and those who don't leave it. Those games exist, they are called niche game, see Eve Online for details. Players are like children. You need to tell them "that's how it is and that's not gonna change". Forums spoil games, all of them, and PvP forums are on the top on the food chain when it comes to spoiling.
