i use the "Covert Face Covering" myself. It has the best look out of any mask.

mando raiders HMFP has tons of strong beasts to bio.

just as a heads up, there are a ton of dailies at level 55. enough to keep you occupied for days. the quest lines on Makeb are an extension of your storyline. I have only played through as a sorcerer so I can't tell if all classes get the same story. Oh yes, you will use lots and lots of AoE. Did i mention lots of AoE? if you are trying to level quickly, wait to do the quests that send you to Dromund Kaas/Corelia after you hit 55. they are very time consuming.

i use that build because i hate cast times. channeled abilities are fine. maybe once i hit 55 and have enough alacrity, that may change. you could say i suffer from P.E. (Premature Electrocution). press a button. lightning to the face.

in 2.0 they introduced a 6% (maybe 8%) def/resist stat to boss mobs. taunts cannot be resisted, but your other abilities can miss or be resisted if you do not have the minimum amount of accuracy now.

as far a getting alacrity from talents, i would skip those at this point. the +% looks to be multiplicative and not additive. for example, i have 8.1 force regen and with 4 stacks of Focal Lightning i have 8.4 force regen. woooo. if memory serves, it has been known to fail a lot, force regen was bumping up to 11ish per second with Focal Lightning stacks applied. as far as cast times go, i can't really say. all the abilities i use are instant anyways except Force Lightning of course.

the hybrib spec may look a little something like this. use force lightning to proc wrath. then either cast crushing darkness or lightning strike. your lightning strike will have a 60% chance to finish the cooldown on chain lightning and make it instant. on groups of enemies, open with death field and then lightning storm. lightning storm has a 20% chance per pulse to finish the cooldown on chain lightning and make it instant cast. on single target strong, or higher, open with death field to crushing darkness and affliction. the debuff applied from crushing darkness will modify their damage. use force lightning to proc wrath. cast lightning strikes as needed. if crushing darkness is not on cooldown, repeat your opener. cast chain lightning when force storm procs.

i wouldn't spend your tionese. once combined with the other commendations, you should be able to buy some black hole gear. as for leveling, i'd use Kelm.
