  1. So...anyone got anything to say about what they saw on PTS yet? I know I can safely say that I hate the "Error 4" at the server select screen. So sadly I am unable to update this thread with any data I was trying to gather
  2. So lets assume for a moment that every crafting skill will have something to do with Galactic Strongholds. I would reckon the list of stuff we could craft to sell/trade, would look something like this. ARMORMECH: Will be able to make replicas of tech based armors as well as some furniture that is also metal based. ARMSTECH: Will be able to make replicas of weapons and...I have no thoughts here for anything else ARTIFICE: Can make some holocron like items as well as crystal based vanity items. BIOCHEM: Will have the ability to craft plants and pet related vanity items. CYBERTECH: Can make assorted gadgets like computers as well as garage related stuff for your mounts. SYNTHWEAVING: Could make silk based furnitures as well as jedi based armor replicas. So with that being said, here is what I propose. To set things apart slightly for those that craft, we should have a few versions of these items that are strictly bound to our legacy. Call it an extremely small perk for having crafting these days and one that anyone could actually achieve, as long as they wanted to devote some resources to it. So.....thoughts anyone?
  3. Sorry but you are SoL. Yeah, I think my armstech is not so happy with her new timesink "nerf". I would ask wth sorta nonsense brought about this change since anyone with half a brain should learn from making the RE mistake once. Then again, I guess they need to cater to the lowest common denominator since there is the one phrase about a fool and their money
  4. You need to check what happened to other crafting skills before starting such a thread...
  5. I figured maybe if we can get things we see an issue listed with in one thread, the easier it will be for them to read them . Before dropping my list of suggestions on what to fix with crew skills at the moment, I want to state 2 things. First off thank you to Bioware for the patch today, as well as the future plans to drop material costs of certain professions. It is a step in the right direction for fixing things. Secondly I want to apologize upfront to anyone that feels odd for me possibly restating a crew skill related issue that they have done so with in the past. With that out of the way... Hollinium and Prefect Carbonic Crystal conversion I see that in the future these 2 materials will no longer be acquired thru mission drops. I also see that the solution to those of us still sitting on these mats will be to increase their value when being sold. Please rethink this with this proposed solution in mind. Add a conversion at the crafting material vendor where Perfect Carbonic Crystal would be traded in for Carbonic Crystal and Hollinium for either Mythra or Turadanium. Perhaps try to use the template you already have in place for converting PvP related commendations into another type for this. I would bet that most crafters would rather wait longer and have this happen, over simply being able to sell these mats for an increased vendor price. Reverse Engineering profession confusion Currently you have droid parts saying they require Armormech to RE as well as Armormech gloves requiring Synthweaving. I am sure there are others I am not aware of. Please fix this so that the skill that creates these items is also the one that can RE. For droid parts its a larger issue since it makes it impossible to currently learn upgraded parts. Droid parts See above about the RE issue. Also I see that they cap off at lvl 52 and not at lvl 54. I am not sure if this is an oversight or an intended gear gap for droids. The other thing about droid parts is they all currently are set up with stats for tanking droids. Please add droid parts for DPS spec droids, especially since we now have HK-51 available to all classes and last I checked, it has no tank stance. Lvl 54 Cunning Earpieces Currently both the Advanced Nano Equipped Power Device and Advanced Tranquility Relay earpiece have the same exact stats. Please change the stat distribution so both do not have just Power and Alacrity for their secondary stats. Artifice missing Aim based offhand schematics Currently artifice has neither an Aim based generator for DPS or Heal spec characters or an Aim based shield generator for Tanks. This is true for both the lvl 52 and lvl 54 tier of wieldable offhand schematics. Underworld Trading missing schematic drops Currently all lvl 401-450 Underworld Trading missions only reture schematics for Armormech gloves. I would like to think it was simply an oversight to not also have Synthweaving schematics drop from them. Prototype stats vs Reusable stats I understand there will be a desire to make people want to consume materials on consumables but in the case of the Pyro grenade, the stat disparity is rather glaring between a consumable and reusable. Reusable items are already gated by requiring a set level in a crew skill, so please revisit just how wide the gap needs to be if there really needs to be a gap at all. Lvl 450 Crafting crewskill perks When crafting first launched, all the crafting professions outside of Armstech had a nice perk waiting for them in the guise of BoP raid level equipment. I am going to take a guess that many crafters are wishing this was also the case with this new tier of crafting (including Armstech this time ). Something to think about Thats just my 2 credits on things for now. I am sure I am forgetting several things I have noticed but this feels long enough for now. Hope this helps in some fashion and that many of the other crafters out there add to this list. Good luck and happy hunting out there.
  6. Sarenne mentioned what to do to avoid the useless blue mats as much as possible. Run Moderate or Abundant missions only or deal with the fact that on Bountiful and above you run a good chance of critting your way completely out of any greens you may want. The type of material you are going for doesn't matter in regards to being able to crit into the seemingly useless pos. Archaeology suffers the same issue as well. I believe during my time on test that Hollinium and Perfect Carbonics were used in crafting some of the recipes that were REed from Arkanian gear. I am not 100% certain of this though. I AM 100% certain that many people reported the gathering on nonsense on PTS prior to this craziness hitting live. Seriously...would it have been that bloody hard to just make a gathering crit act like mission crits would, having you get the greens AND blues too? On a side note, if you only using professions using Scav, you may want to count yourself lucky to have some semblance of control in regards to getting greens you need. Bioanalysis has a green compound that so far is useless and is a possible drop no matter the grade of compound mission.
  7. I know the more missions and nodes I get mats back from, the less I want to even be civil in any discussion about what they did to "crafting" in 2.0. Combining the fact that Makeb spawns a ton of grade 6 nodes with the fact that your companions are likely to crit their way into useless mats, minus the huge increase of raw materials needed to make anything thats not a modification, I am torn between seeing these choices as either a blatant time/credit sink and/or blatant incompetence/indifference. I would really just implore anyone that cares about crafting to just start hammering inboxes and/or drop tickets in on Live and hope they have much more of an effect then they did on PTS.
  8. Just remembered another bug that annoyed on my way to Master Craftsman. When leveling a crafting skill, make sure to pay attention to the Difficulty of creating an item more so then its level. I was a little dismayed to see that I ate several sets of mats when leveling because I created an item that should level up the skill but did not while a similar item of the same level would have done so. Off the top of my head I believe this happened with my Synthweaver.
  9. The orange gloves that armormech gets from UT schematics have the lowest Mat to craft ratio I have so far. I was unable to see if they would RE into a kit part before the servers went derp. Other issue with said gloves is the fact they take blues to craft AND 20+ mins. As far as the sure thing for greens with the lowest combined cost that should no matter what give a kit part....I will give two hints. Most people think its a worthless crafting skill and Corso is its $^%&$.
  10. Pretty sure Daemonson was along the right track. I think I had to use adrenals to get to 440 from 435 and then finished up with the 440 implants.
  11. Good timing on my part to be off work today ....Guess this is EA's way of telling this "Murphy" that he should take an early lunch break
  12. Since Jedi Covenant has decided to take a powder, figured I may as well vent some of my views of crafting in 2.0 so far. Overall I would say it got the redheaded stepchild treatment that I feared it would. A rather mediocre corner of the game was not improved at all and given a few resources to seem like an effort was made. I guess I should start listing some of my gripes below.. Makeb Gating I had hoped they would gate Makeb in a fashion similar to that of Quesh. Sadly they did not. From roaming around I would say the imperial side got the short end of the stick on whats available to lower levels to resource farm. Resource Nodes Having run 11 characters of various gathering skills around I really have to ask "Why in the world do we need more grade 6 nodes on a planet that spawns the only grade 7 nodes?!?" Seriously..I would estimate that a good 60-80%of the time I find a resource node, its a grade 6 type. Prototype Gathering Materials I know when I was on PTS, I sent in a few tickets that the rate on these things was pretty crazy since there is seemingly no use for them as of yet. I guess I shouldn't be surprised nothing was changed with them since I recall numerous flaws I reported in closed beta that took a long time on live to get fixed (resource stacking for example). Also seems a bit crazy that the 2 are listed as a metal and a crystal but can be received from either type of mission. Maybe these mats will matter down the line but right now my vibe is that they will go the route of mats like the Self-Perpetuating Powercell. Mission Gathering Skill missions Have yet to see any tangible reason for running the missions that have twice the time to complete compared to the other grades that can be available for the same yield. Another thing some people I know submitted tickets about on PTS... Gathering Mission material rewards Please sir...can I have some more? The rate of return is rather low. Combine that with the fact that you get the above mentioned useless materials and a fair amount of failed missions (least my luck has been meh so far), we are looking at a serious grind to have any real amount of materials if trying to be self-sufficient in our crafting. Time needed to craft certain items While leveling my Armstech char I noticed the one tier of green augments wanted 20+ minutes for each one to be crafted. I have also seen that there are several orange items that take around 4 mins to complete while others take 20+. I am sure the augments were bugged, the oranges...inconsistent? The oranges in quest that took so long were the ones gained from schematic drops. Amount of materials needed to craft greens Its just insane. I can understand things progressing upwards for blues and purples but for greens? To need between 14-18 real materials before counting catalyst type ones....wow. Good luck finding an efficient way to get augment kit parts if that's your thing. "You Already Know That Schematic" I got to read that after REing an extra mod that I had just received a new schematic for. Just gives me the willies knowing that can still show up on the screen even if not in the capacity it once used to.. Artifice schematics Still crossing my fingers we get a new tier of color crystals sometime soon but know that's not likely since it would invalidate the current cartel crystals being good for the life of a character. Also hoping one day Artifice gets the ability to craft neutral relics that can be REed to more powerful types. Once again they also ignored PTS feedback that they were missing schematics for several types of offhands. Wall of text crits my own brain for over 9000... Just some of my views on things so far (I could write a chapter of a book with all of them...). I get the vibe that crafting now is just a complete afterthought in the scheme of things. Heck...the cynic in me thinks one day they will add cartel market only schematics, crates of crafting materials, and/or consumables that increase crafting critical results...
  13. I cannot recall the names of the few I have got. I can tell you that I have only seen them be lvl 450 and that for a companion at max affection they take 2:47:44 to get done. Also as far as slicing, I am going to take a guess they will "adjust" the lockboxes for the final tier as well. I have a hard time believing it will be fine with them to spend a little under 4k on a mission that I have seen always give back 4-8K credit boxes back.
  14. After getting around on the PTS a little bit, I am rather underwhelmed with whats coming for crafters. Its rather hard to even see how stuff acts as far as RE when you don't have access to the 3rd ingredient needed (think fluxes and the like) to craft an item. I am guessing they will have those at a vendor on Makeeb only and they will be BoP. Unless a bug, you cannot even get them as a mission option. Speaking of missions, I am a little concerned from what I am seeing in regards to the new ones. I have yet to see a single mission bring back more then 1 type of material. So it looks like we have another artificially slowed grind added. Also I found it a bit perplexing that for scavenging and archaeology the first new type of material for the tier is green and the second is blue. Guessing maybe the blue is needed for the 2nd step of crafting the items but sorta had to tell when you can't craft a green to RE to blue . Only thing I have seen that looks to be the new "perk" for crafting is a ton of recipes the new Basic Commendation vendors sell. Thing is that each recipe costs 200 basic comms and requires Hero standing with the Citizens of Makeeb. Still scratching my head at the fact that some of these recipes craft BoE gear and the others its BoP. Of course I really shouldn't be shocked by this since once again it looks like they added all the duplicate enhancement recipes to artifice . Just my 2 cents for now...
  15. First off...Nice necro.. Secondly..After all this time I think we will never get lowbie tanking mods. If we do it would probably only be someone coming up with some "great" idea like "Hey. You know all that stuff crafters have been clamoring for? Lets make all new recipes for them and put them in bundles on the Cartel Market!"
