  1. Yeah that was an awful change. Maras could actually purge net too with the force camo utility. That was hotfixed two days after the xpac, and now force camo just breaks roots instead of purging debuffs like initially proposed. A bug which led to a nerf instead of a bug fix.
  2. Of course not, but this means they do more damage than sorcs or snipers when left to freecast. That is why they are difficult to balance, slight changes can make them too strong very quickly. Some proposed changes have been great ideas, but the capability of mercs will still be dependent on bringing sins and powertechs in line.

  5. Play a ranked game before you complain on the forums. Damage potential matters because if mercs can effectively pull those numbers without ways to shut them down you will see them become overtuned. Mercs are currently the glass cannon ranged. I'm still waiting for any one of you merc players with iqs of room temperature to propose a fix instead of just moaning. Durrrr
  6. When you play any ranged class it cannot be overstated that you CANNOT use abilities at random, CANNOT get mucked about and CANNOT get your limited resources wasted and still do good damage. Hurrrr Durrrr
  7. It's their desire to blame everything else for their failures. Best part, they don't even introduce changes. Most of these threads consist of "bioware, I'm losing games on x class, fix it". Identify the problem, present a solution or multiple solutions. If not, ****.
  8. We have a winner! Stacking shield/absorb on a pt is good, but not for augments. You will live longer with a higher hp pool, a lot longer. Mitigation works well when you are tunneled, but auto crits surpass this so it is just better to take the hp. Also, a quick tip. Shield/absorb works for damage received through guard; whereas, defense rating has no effect. Gear accordingly, gear your toon to your strengths, which should be pretty obvious with a quick look at the tanking tree for PTs/VGs.
  9. Haha welcome to pot5 for the last year. All-galaxy pub toons from going into solo q with a 4s team in comms around midnight eastern. Used to be even worse considering they ran hybrid tank and heals lmao.
  10. That is actually a great idea. What a lot of people misunderstand about mercs is why they are focused in solos. Mercs do ****loads of damage and have electronet. They are a ranged class which gives them an advantage, so with that in mind they can be shut down by melee. They are focused because if you don't, your team will get wrecked. Do they have a get out of jail button? No. But they do have hydraulics energy shield and kolto. Why it is so hard to fix them is they could get out of hand quickly if given a barrier style ability. Allowing them to reset a fight, and reposition after the focus drops is tricky. It may be what they need as it is definitely what snipers do, but I think most people can see that getting out of hand very quickly. They are in a bad spot because melee has be overtuned. Also, I'm not sure why anyone playing a ranged class feels like they are entitled to top the boards in solo q when focused by 3-4 melee. I'm sure they are going to be very viable in 4s once pts/sins are toned down. Seen a lot of people doing well with lightning/arsenal already.
  11. Yeah, and they earned that pvp gear pre xpac, probably even augmented it. If they want to stay in griefing midbies that's their choice, they wont get any rewards if they leave before the match ends. If they want to not buy the xpac and play swtor "shadow of wrecking lowbies" that's their decision too. What do you want bioware to do? Put in a bracket of 4 levels where the 55s with pvp gear destroy the 55s without it? Where you get a q pop every 3 hours? Or would you prefer that they took the expertise off old pvp gear so the people that earned that gear pre xpac get destroyed when they walk into level 60 warzones? Expansion is still so new that people are complaining about this. Every week the number of 55-59 players with pvp gear declines.

  14. Your screenshot, and what he stated proved that nothing is wrong. Your anecdote of how you are getting #shrekt in warzones proves nothing. These threads are endless whining and complaining, and they are filled with people outing themselves as horrible players. Bolster is working as intended in the 30-59 bracket, deal with it. There is no problem which needs to be fixed.
