  1. So, I've greatly enjoyed this game so far, but there is one thing that extremely bugs me: the variation between the possible races. We talk to many different races, yet only 4 are playable, and they all the look the same really. I mean, come on, the cyborg is just a human with a metal implant in his face, another is just a green human with patterns, another is a human with horns and a few lines on their face. The only really different one is the twi'leks, and I guess the horn dudes when they are sith (because they look like darth maul). So, there is no variation. But there is a quick and easy solution to that in my opinion. Why not allow the ability to play all the other humanoid races? They would have the same way of moving around, so you wouldn't have to recode their movement (like you would for a hutt for sliding around...heh), and most of them are similar in size, so the armor would not have to be specially adjusted. Now sure, maybe it wouldn't be the best solution to those that are all about lore, but it is your decision to choose them or not. Lets use wookiees as an example. No one really cares that wookiees don't like clothes. (Note: Wookiees and jawas would probably have to be left out due to their height differences). However, there is also the problem of voice acting. It would be too much effort to redo all the voices again for another race, and wookiees can't speak perfect english. So, why don't we have a choice? One option is to have the wookiee speak his gibberish language with subtitles, and you can just computer generate that and steal it from elsewhere in the game. Or, if you still want a voice, just have a universal translator that translates the wookiee language into the voice that is used for that class already. Voila. Seriously, this is a game based on intergalactic relations and trade and war, I think its about time wookiees can become jedi too (again, just using wookiees as an example since I dont know any of the names of the other races). Any thoughts?
  2. Any class that can heal. On my sage, I usually just solo Heroic 2+, and only really need a group for Heroic 4s. As long as you have a semi tankish companion (ex. Qyzen), then just supply slight effecient damage, such as DoTs, and keep up heals and shields on your companion. Although, I must say, it is probably easiest to do on a sage, never tried other healing classes.
  3. After reading through ALL 287 posts in this thread to show my dedication to this idea, i have come up with a conclusion: there is NOT ONE post that said that they disagreed with the OP completely, and that they did not support at least some aspect of Aneu's idea. I may not be great at math, and i realize there have been many reposts so there has not been 287 people voicing their opinion, but that is 100% of all the posts. So, essentially, I am quite confused why you haven't even addressed this thread at all Bioware. Not addressing Aneu's idea just displays that as a company, you really do not take our ideas into consideration, and that is just stupid business. Now, I am perfectly fine if you want to have more people post on this thread to voice their opinion, as you want a clearer idea of what the general population of players want from you as a company, as you may feel that many sides have not voiced their opinion, or may feel afraid to. So, if you want more people to discuss this idea, and basically do the decision making for you, why not sticky this thread, at least for the time being? It is just reusing and revamping a very successful idea from another Star Wars game (Galactic Conquest from SW Battlefront). I do realize that there are many other pressing issues and problems with the game that you must address to minimize the loss of players that are leaving due to discontent with the game's current state. However, a great way to minimize losses is to show interest in your customers and address them continuously, to gain a perspective of where you should go in the future to keep your customers happy. Responding to them only after they experience a problem is not wise, try to prevent the problem before it occurs. This is my final plea; if you do not respond to this thread within the next two weeks, which is more than ample amount of time, i am unsubscribing. It is not a threat, it is just that I am displeased with the game at the moment, but my real problem is the lack of communication to the community as a whole. As a customer, I want, no, NEED to know that my opinion matters. Anyways, back on topic, you yet again have my full support Aneu on this idea. I shall give it as many stars as I can.
  4. have a lot of nice ideas! Expansion of space related pvp and then pod racing are top on my priority of that list. Card playing seems a little lame for star wars no offense, and i dont think promoting gambling with bets is a great idea. However, ur gladiator system and arena tournaments are interesting ideas as well. However, if i may point you to a thread, this is my favorite idea of improving pvp so far: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=234156
  5. Loving the idea! When I think of Star Wars wars, I think of Galactic Conquest from star wars battlefront. Best idea ever. Jump from planey to planet, sometimes on the defensive, sometimes on the offensive, and the chance to clash in a space battle from time to time. And top the icing on the cake, an epic battle on the opposing faction's base/home planet. I would play that forever even if it was completely lopsided and I lost every time in battles 1v50. Ofc there will be faction imbalances, and problems, but all aspects of your proposed ideas have merit. I cannot say I have enough experience in this game so far to provide constructive feedback on your ideas of solving imbalance issues, but you have my FULL 110% support on this idea. Bioware, I know you have a lot on your hands at the moment, but please, seriously consider this idea, as it is wonderful
  6. I agree! Here is my take on it: A sniper's big advantage is getting the first shot off. Operatives and such pretty much dominate that possibility at the moment, as they just run around and gank people in stealth. And that is what their class is meant to do. Our class is meant to set up a position, realize that we cannot take much damage, and target the most crucial enemy player near us. This is the way you play a sniper (at least for a MM, can't speak for lethality or engineering). However, we get screwed if the enemy realizes our position before we initiate the attack. And again, that's just how our class is meant to be played. It has pros and cons, but that's the general idea. We all know that. Here is my proposal; stealth for 30sec, requiring cover, 2min cd (just making up seemingly okay numbers). No stealth buffs. This is perfect. We can get the first shot off now! I know when i find a position i like, i like to stay there for a while. So i stealth up in cover for a a little while, let a group of enemies pass, as I realize I cannot take them all by myself. As my stealth is nearing its end, i see a straggler run by, and WHOOSH goes a bullet into his head. Now our duel has started, me with a great advantage. That is the solo scenario. It is also great for setting up team ambushes, especially for defense. Face it; we are built for defense (although not limited to it), so we might as well learn how to play it well. Remember, we are support. However, that is just pvp. Pve is another topic. I agree, stealth is more useful for pvp than pve. But it can't hurt, right? Now, I can see where other classes will think this is op. However, like i stated, we have a long cd, and no buffs during stealth. It forces the sniper to use stealth wisely and sparingly. That way, it is purely to help us have an uninterrupted setup for a ambush once in a while. Stealth for a sniper is much more strategic than that for a operative. However, the stealth prevents mobility, so if the sniper setup wrong, he will have to reveal himself to chase after you or move. Lastly, after the initial shot, your invisible. Stealth will allow you to get in closer than you initially could have before attracting attention; however, that means that the enemy will reach you that much faster. If they snipe you from just within their range while stealthed, then the sniper didn't really gain anything, as he could have hit you from there if you saw him anyway. Its a tradeoff. Stealth for a sniper is situational and never necessary, like an operative, so it becomes a preference that I like would greatly benefit our class without harming any other.
