  1. That's astounding. Everything you said above is entirely and absolutely wrong. It's hilariously easier than it used to be, even before FE. If you can't do Friends of Old, you're just bad.
  2. I ... I just ... what ... ... okay, as a preface, I came back to the game recently, after dropping it for a while when Fallen Empire launched. Compared to 2012 and up to the companion changes? The game, as it stands now, is PISS EASY I'm leveling a fresh toon, and they took out a HILARIOUS number of quests, and nerfed Heroics into the ground. Just for comparison, I went back to my main as well and did a few Fortresses - they're as easy as they ever were. I'm honestly just leveling with a friend now, for the sheer nostalgia value. Because any and all challenge is gone. Has been since the companion rework and FE.
  3. This too. Granted, I haven't actually played for the past month or two (at least, not on my main, there were a few alt times), but thus far? They made the stuff that made you want to group soloable, but I cannot see any new flashpoints, and Zakuul really isn't much of a new 'planet'. Oh, no, wait ... there are Star Fortress FPs ... which can be soloed and as far as I can tell, bring little to nothing to the plot. Or otherwise. I'm not even angry. I'm just sad and disappointed. Story wise? This is shiny. Gameplay wise? I miss the Shroud. Or even SoR. Can we have the TOR of Heroic Areas and some challenges (well, if you tried to 2 man Heroics and FPs at level with companions) back?
  4. ... this literally doesn't matter anymore, given the companion changes.
  5. Look above. I love the story ... but a)short and b)there is no reason for this to be an MMO. Let me clarify. The original reason I got into TOR was a friend who was a diehard SW fan. I'd tried MMOs before, and we were both playing CoH prior, so I said to myself - eh, might as well. And we had good, nay, great times. In no small part due to the story. BUT ... also due to something TOR did better than any other MMO did before and has since. And something TOR does not do anymore, and really hasn't since Shadow of Revan. Group questing. Also, even with level adjust doing a Heroic 2+ solo should be kind of a challenge. It's not, anymore.
  6. Heh. I liked Shadow of Mordor too. But, to get back on topic ... that's not even mentioning the interchangeability of companions. Imma ignore the gearing aspect for now, due to the whole Alliance thing but ... ... Bioware? Just ... go back and make KOTOR3? Because SWTOR wasn't KOTOR 3 through whatever, and Fallen Empire feels like it _really wants to be_ but the format is all wrong.
  7. As much as I adored the cinematics and storytelling, I fear this is the swan song for SWTOR. There's just no ... challenge ... left. I just basically walked through several Heroics. Granted, level adjust and all, but ... to me at least, the draw of SWTOR was always group questing, and trying to 2 man things. The current companion changes, heroic changes ... heck, everything ... I'm sorry. I've been playing, on and off, since early access of the game itself, years back. But while I love the story, the gameplay is now all but gone. There's no reason anymore to try and 2 man Heroic 4s since there are no Heroic 4s. The new companions have actually likable characters and the story is nice, but ... the episodes are just ridiculously short. I stayed through the Assassin nerfs, the doled out updates, the reduction of quests to _text prompts_ from what was actual group quest content. I was going to use FE to motivate me to finally endgame a Rep toon, finish my and a friends' altaholic coop playthroughs, the works ... but ... the way things are now? I'll play through the episodes once. Exactly once. And after that ... I'm sure you can imagine. It's been ... nice ... SWTOR ... but I think the magic's gone.
  8. Here's a hint - PLAY THE GAME. Also, tutorials and the codex are there for a reason? The game _and the 'annoying' sidequests on the started worlds_, actually teach you how to do stuff. So do the Heroics on the faction capitals. Your first time through, you're meant to do that stuff so you learn how to keep doing stuff without ragequitting at boss fights. Shocking, I know.
  9. At this point I'd be happy if all they did was put back the Dark Charge tick ... though could they please make it scale properly?
  10. You forgot to add - assuming full channels of FL with 3 HD stacks, uninterrupted by having to get out of a red indicator, a knockback, stun, etc. 'Uninterruptible' is really no guarantee. ED was already massively easier to use before. Just pop taunt(s) and get attacked. Despite the longer CD it's even easier now.
  11. Nor did they do anything to the Shieldtech's mitigation when they changed Kolto Overload to be, frankly, _amazing_ on top of giving them Shield Cannon for a less bursty but still 20% HP heal on a 1.5 minute CD.
  12. Ugh. Assassin's Shelter is still in. Okay, I mean, the 5% increase in outgoing healing, I can kinda understand. The 3% incoming as a passive to you is nice but it kind of obligates a Darkness SIN to run with a healing companion if not grouped. Again, guys, this made sense for 2.0 with self heals, even if it was still kinda underwhelming then. Now, not so much. Similarly Insulation just seems like the objectively wrong utility choice for Darkness.
  13. 1. I am slightly tipsy 2. I am listening to Billy Joel 3. I just got back to TOR after a few months in hiatus I BLAME SOCIETY! -- ... it's two o'clock on a Saturday the regular crowd shuffles in There's an old salt queuing next to me making love to his Mara and SIN He says 'Son can you roll me an H4 here? I'm not really sure how it goes but it's sad and it's sweet and I knew it complete When I wore a younger patch's clothes' Roll us an H4, you're the party lead, Roll us us an H4 tonight, We're all in the mood for a good run, And you've got us feeling alright, Now this biochem here is a friend of mine, He gets me my stims for free, And he's quick with a joke or to help if you're broke, But there's someplace that he'd rather be, He says "Mate, I believe this is killing me" As a smile runs away from his face, "Well, I'm sure that I could be a podcaster, If I could get out of this space" Now this Sent over there is a guide writer Who never had time for a wife And he's talking with Bailey who's still running daily, and probably will be for life And the Smuggler is now practicing politics as the 'Mandos, they slowly get auged Yes they're sharing a pop they call loneliness But it's better than smelling Kaas smog, Roll us an FP, you're the party lead, Roll us us an FP tonight, We're all in the mood for a shiny run, And you've got us feeling alright, It's a pretty good crowd for a Saturday And the commu guy makes our day Cause he knows that it's TOR we've been coming to play To forget about life for a while, And the GSF pops like a carnival, And the guy on VOIP's had a beer, And we sit on the fleet and we put up our feet, And say "Man, come and join the top tier!" Roll us an OP, you're the party lead, Roll us an OP tonight, We're all in the mood for a party wipe, 'Cause you've got us feeling alright
  14. ... no, I 'conveniently' left OPs out because I haven't run any. I did run Xeno HMs both before and after the change and I explicitly said I realize we're more tanky now. Sadly, it came at the cost of losing a fair bit of the unique flavor tank Assassins/Shadows had, and negatively impacted our sustain outside of those situations. So, you're throwing points I've already acknowledged months ago back at me.
