  1. hello, iv'e been away from the game for 4 years. Would like to make a few credits, what missions/skills are the best for quick sales. I am not looking for the items that take 3-4 months, but something that is high in demand, cloth, metal, etc? And then what level missions? thanks in advance ohh I have enough characters for every crew skill just want to know what to concentrate on. I have no idea what sells and what doesnt at this point. when I left I was making Grade 4 ship parts and selling those but that was long ago
  2. So, I played in the original game when there was the rails ship combat. Now I see they have a new PVP ship combat? Are either of these needed for the story? Are either of these useful? Advantages/disadvantages? Essentially can I completely ignore both of them or should I do one or the other for Reason X?
  3. So im a returning player from original beta, never played the expansions. Im sitting on about 350,000 credits. what items would be worth buying on the market? what trade skills are good for pure gathering+selling? I will play mostly solo content but was wondering if there were certain items worth searching out to buy?
  4. that was excellent just what I needed thanks hard to get back into after so long
  5. Hello, I am an original player of the game, starting back in Beta but I left before the first expansion. My main character before was a Jedi Sage but I only got her to level 28 I recently subscribed again. I'm looking to start over but I see that there is a new patch coming soon that may change some of the core character classes. I'm thinking of playing a ranged class on the Republic side. I would like something with really good survivability and AOE, I tend to pull too many at once. Suggestions? I don't plan on playing that much group content, mainly just explore the story of the character. Last time I played I only did PVP and crafting and didn't really see the stories play out. Also is there still ship combat? Has it changed? Also whats the status of the Market? is there certain trade skills that are better money makers? I did accumulate around 350,000 credits though selling ship parts. Is that a lot now? What would you suggest I spend my credits on? Are cartel coins worth buying? Are there any must have items, like XP potions or certain gear that will scale as you level? etc Thanks in advance.
  6. I'm only level 25 but I had planned to do world PVP, can someone enlighten me as to what the root problem is? Simply allowing an unbalanced mix of players into the zone? So if they limited it to 40 people per side allowed in at once would that resolve this imbalance? Im just trying to understand what it was like and what changed to make it worse? Are there simply more Imperial characters on each server? Are the Imperial folks screaming about the same thing on a republic dominated server? Also, can't these people simply roll an Imperial character and play on that side? Obviously the people at level 50 got there in a relative short time, so it seems to me that it wouldn't take long to level a character on Imperial side and take advantage of the imbalance?
  7. This is why single player games are better. For example, let's say this was purely the next chapter in the RPG Star Wars franchise and slicing was left the way it was. Then having 8 gazillion credits would mean nothing to anyone else since everyone could have 8 gazillion credits. The only people I see complaining about the slicers are the people that didn't do it themselves. Those people need to go make a stupid sign that says "Even in a video game, I'm still the 99%" OMG our nation is doomed with the "poor me" attitudes that seem to be rampant in society. What people don't realize is that all the whining just keeps pushing us toward communism. Keep it up and see what happens when everyone is equal. ITS A GAME< GET OVER IT /soapbox
  8. Ok, so I was a slicer before patch, not a high level one mind you but I still did it. Now it seems as though the slicing MISSIONS are not worth it but is the slicing skill itself still worth it if you gather the boxes yourself? I actually preferred doing it that way anyway, felt more natural to me and I liked having my pet around while I was questing. So I just hit level 10 on my Imperial character and I am debating picking up slicing simply for the gathering skill itself, not the mission skill. If this was the only way to improve slicing would that alone be worth the slot? Let's say I never send my companion out on slicing missions, do the gathered lock boxes still return around 100 credits at low level, that's what I was getting before and to me I found a spot where I could grind out human elites that had a good slicing spawn box.
  9. Ughh this argument drives me nuts. If people are so worried about slicing then they are free to pick it up themselves? I don't understand? This is just like people being mad at someone for inventing a social media site that makes Billions of dollars. If you are so worried about it, get off your butt, stop playing games and go invent something yourself. Last I checked anyone is able to pickup slicing just like any other crew skill. Best idea is to make money of anything you can before any possible patches come out. I have slicing NOW but I don't plan on keeping it. I simply have it now because it's still profitable, but I doubt it will be forever. bottom line: stop complaining and go pickup slicing yourself.
  10. Yes this is my issue. My computer plays "Skyrim" just fine which is a leading edge graphically new game but I cannot get above 5-6 FPS on this game. I have 6 GB RAM, and a new 1 GB Vid card with all updated drivers and this computer is only 1 month old.
  11. I couldnt find a PVP FAQ sticky in this forum. But since I didnt play beta I am wondering 1. What level can you start PVP warzones? not world PVP I get that I can flag myself anytime 2. Do you get XP for PVP? Is it feasible to level completely in PVP? 3. What type of rewards do you get? Are they comparable to questing? 4. How do you Queue for a match? Thanks Im hoping to start my early access tomorrow
  12. THANKS SO MUCH I am a craft a holic so this will be very useful.
  13. But theoretically wouldn't the cost of selling all the gathered mats in the AH outweigh the costs of missions? That's what Im hoping for anyway. Best to get in on the early selling market before goods are flooded. At least that's my initial thought. But if the cost of the missions is more then the sale price of the goods they are gathering then not much point of it. This is one area that Beta couldn't help with since there was no true economy in Beta. Today starts the real economy so it will be interesting to see what's for sale. At the end of my other MMO I had 300,000 gold so I'm a bit of an AH junkie.
  14. Can the companions do all the gathering for me too in that case? So can I just take 3 gathering skills and send my companions out to do them? So if I have multiple companions can I have a bunch of "farmers" for me?
  15. I read that each player character can get 3 crew skills but that you can also have up to 5 companions, does this mean that each person can get 15 total crew skills? Otherwise, what's the point of having 5 companions if you can only have 3 total crew skills. I guess I'm a bit confused as to how my player choices for crew skills affect my companions. Do they get different choices than I do? Thanks, sorry no beta access and nothing I read seemed to explain this relationship very well of how crew skills are transferred to companions.
