  1. Galactic Starfighter is not the space expansion I was hoping for, and definitely pales in comparison to Jump to Lightspeed-- greatly pales in comparison. But it's okay. Noting I could see many people sticking with for very long, though. But it's pretty much what I expected it to be after it was announced, just a lazy, half-assed attempt at adding space content. It's World of Tanks in space. Meh. But GS is the reason I canceled my subscription... again. I have Windows XP so I don't have any sound when I play GS, and it's no fun to play a game that's completely silent. This bug never should have went live-- and from what I've read the bug was on the test center for at least two weeks. I haven't really got to play much of GS since it launched because of this bug, so I canceled my subscription. The bug will get fixed sooner or later, sure, but I don't enjoy the rest of the game anymore-- I've been bored to tears with the ground game for many months-- so there's really no reason for me to stick around if I can't even play GS (with sound). The lack of PVE missions was another negative for me, and having only two combat zones is pretty pathetic. But I had never planned to stick with this game for more than a month, anyway, unless I was completely blown away by GS. I wasn't blown away, not even close.
  2. I'm running into the same problem: as soon as I start loading into a match, the sound pops and shuts off. I load out of the match, it pops again and turns back on. Happens in both PVP matches and in the tutorial. It's no much fun playing a game that's completely silent.
  3. I've gotta say, it's impressive how much more your first video feels like Star Wars than the entire game of SWTOR does. SWTOR has always been lacking something and, at least to me, it's never felt quite like Star Wars in many aspects. Your first video, though, really hits it well and feels like it's in the Star Wars setting.
  4. I would also like to see something come of marrying a companion instead of them just acting like I'm a stranger to them, but as has been stated a few times previously, I can't see it ever happening. The companion system (or more specifically, companion stories) seems to be just another one of the many systems Bioware implemented relatively half-assed and then completely forgot about. I wish they would actually continue or finish one of their game systems before implementing another one. We have so many different types of systems in the game now and none of them are finished, and most of them rarely see an update (if they ever do).
  5. I don't know you, or your husband, but I am sorry for your loss nonetheless. I'm sure this is a very difficult time, but do take care and take it easy. Good luck to you and the rest of your family.
  6. For me it's somewhere in between. While it's nice to have some new solo content and a new planet to explore, I find the storyline to be a little on the boring side at times, and I can't imagine running through Makeb on another character-- navigation in a nightmare! I'm also disappointed that it didn't really bring any new features to the game. I suppose it did bring the seeker droids and binoculars, but they still leave a little something to be desired. I wasn't expecting swoop racing or mini-games or anything like that, but I don't know... Not to mention that most of the armor rewards are simply recolors of existing armor we've had since the game launched, which makes quest rewards fairly boring... It's like Bioware couldn't be bothered to make any new armor models for an "expansion". I am a bit disappointed with this so-called expansion, but I'm not really surprised by its lack of new things, either.
  7. I would love to see Ryloth in this game. I think it could be pretty neat, with one half of the planet in constant day and the other half in constant night (and the lack of day/night cycles would actually make sense for this planet). There could also be some interesting content with Trandoshan slavers, the Republic trying to repel the slavers, while the Empire wants the profit or to get rid of of the slavers to make the Twi'leks their own slaves. Honestly, I think that there could be a lot done with Ryloth...
  8. Here's to hoping that we'll finally be able to change the color of lekku markings on Twi'lek characters. Yeah, it's not likely to happen, but I can hope...
  9. I must admit that I don't really understand the point of restricting dying lore sets... It doesn't really make much sense to me. Maybe it's just me, but the lore gear just looks like the gear that a certain character wore, it's not supposed to turn your character into that character. I mean, if a player equips the Jolee Bindo gear their character doesn't suddenly become Jolee Bindo, they're just dressed in an outfit that looks like the one Jolee Bindo wore. It's the same with the Revan gear-- your character does not become Revan when that outfit is equipped-- and all of the other lore gear. So, because the gear isn't turning your character into that character, why not allow the gear to be dyed? And I wouldn't even bring up the "breaking lore" thing. The lore is already broken-- players should not be running around wearing Revan's armor or Jolee Bindo's tunic. It's like a player in Star Wars Galaxies running around in Darth Vader's armor, it just doesn't make sense and breaks the lore. But there you have it, SWTOR has these outfits, so the lore is already broken. As for most of the cartel armor being restricted from dye... Honestly, it doesn't surprise me. This was done, no doubt, so Bioware could release recolors of the cartel armor and sell them, as they've been doing since the launch of the cartel market. Who's going to pay real money for a purple-colored Spymaster's Chestguard when they can dye one for free? Do I like it? No, I think all moddable armor should be able to be dyed... But no, it doesn't surprise me.
  10. Togruta would be interesting, though it's not one of my favorite species. Personally, I'd love to see Givin and Anomid as player species... But I know that will never happen...
  11. Personally, rather than holographic chairs (how would you sit on a hologram, anyway?) I'd like to see emotes that just let your character sit in the air. Sure, it would look silly if the player wasn't on a chair, but this way the players could "sit on" the chairs scattered throughout the planets. Either that or the character could pull out a very small stool, so when the player character isn't near a chair the stool would be visible, but if the player character was standing over a chair when they used the sit emote the stool would pretty much disappear into the chair and make it look like the character was sitting on it. If I remember right, Champions Online had something like this (I think it was CO, anyway). There were, I think, two or three different sit emotes, and each of them made the character basically sit in the air in different positions. This way you could place your character on a ledge, on a bench, a chair, or even stairs of a trash can, and it would look like the character was sitting on it. It worked fairly well considering that there was no direct way to interact with a chair and sit on it.
  12. I have a question... The toothpick... Why is that listed? Don't we already have that in-game? I presume it's a different color, but it's so small that it seems like it wouldn't be all that noticeable if it was a different color... Also, could we get a few landspeeders (and even a few more speederbikes)? The STAP-like vehicles are getting rather old and, in my opinion, don't feel very "Star Warsy". Not to mention they're completely impractical... I have one of the big blue and yellow landspeeders that was removed from the game months ago (I can't remember what it's called) on one of my characters and it amazes me how much more "Star Warsy" things feel when I'm jetting around with it... 'Course, I'd like to see new landspeeders and speederbikes added to the general vehicle vendors around the planets so they could start getting a little more common, but with the CM I know that wont happen...
  13. The legacy family tree, like others said, is pretty much useless. It serves no purpose, nothing happens with it, and other players can't even see it. There is no point to the family tree whatsoever other than lining up the characters in a tree how you want with no real point to it. It even serves no purpose in role play. The family tree has got to be the most useless system in the game-- or in any MMO that I can think of. The family tree sounded fairly interesting before it came out, but after it was released nothing ever happened with it. Bioware seemed to completely forget about it and ever since it has been completely ignored. It remains something that could have been interesting but was never fleshed out. Honestly, I wish Bioware would stop adding new systems and finish what they have started instead. They keep adding in one new system of some kind after another, but they always leave the systems that were introduced before unfinished. New things to do and new features are always nice, but they start to feel a little cheap or pointless when they're never actually finished...
  14. Finally! My Twi'lek racial dance move will have a purpose at last! So, can I bring all of my companions with me, and we could do a big group dance? I've got to do the Thriller dance with them!
  15. I suppose the experience differs from state-to-state but I've had nothing but problems with CenturyLink. I used to have Comcast and boy do I miss it... My connection with CenturyLink frequently cuts off for no clear reason, it just randomly cuts off. Sometimes it wont do this but it will often enough. Customer service has no idea what's going on and they don't have service people to come out and look at it (without paying a big fee, anyway) so I'm kind of on my own to figure out the problem when it happens. The speed itself isn't bad (though it may be a little slower than Comcast), but the service itself is crappy. Not to mention their customer service is some of the worse I've ever experienced... Not only is customer service not helpful at all and I feel like I've wasted my time whenever I call them, but would it kill them to actually have someone who spoke English?
