  1. The Planet Tyhon, it is near the core, You were sent there to, Study the Force. You complete your trials, and the battle's won, then you realize, that it's just begun. You use the Force, And of course, You live by the blade, That you yourself Have made. And now I christen you a Jedi Knight, And weather you are dark or Light, You know the Sith are sick, sick sick, And you fight for the Re-pub-a-lick. Use the Force, It will guide you on your course, It's always been inside of you ooo, ooo. Now it's time to let it shine through -oo ooo. Now because you are a Jedi Knight, And if you play your cards just right, You can play a part against the Sith, And help to save the Re-pub-a-lick.
  2. Currently, non-subscribers can't post. Sometimes I even see people asking for oppinions from free-to-play folks. Give them at least SOME section they can post at, or swtor.com will never be the main place to post about swtor.
  3. Don't forget the stuff they striped out of beta only to put on the Cartel Market later, like those iconic outfits on the cover of the box.
  4. If you want maximum credits for your cartel coins, buy a cartel pack with your monthly grant and sell it for no less than 200k credits, no more than 500k credits. Only buy the newest pack when it comes out and put it up on the GTN as soon as the 2 day "can't sell" cooldown wears off if you want to be closer to the 500k number.
  5. They also claimed that Makeb (originally leaked under the name "planet Varl") would be the largest free-content update to subscribers. Additionally, it would release "later this year". 6 months later, they backeed outSOURCE. Remember when Bioware boasted weekly bug fix patches? (source) Remember the now-deleted dev-blogs that assured this would be a sandbox-themepark hybrid because (well people were tired of themeparks at the time so.... marketing team? little help?) Source. Remember all the hub-bub over same-gender romance arcs, full romances that got religious fundamentalists in a tizzy, and they described it thusly: Oh yeah, that described the "flirt" option being swapped for one conversation. Totally romantic story arc there. And it had long lead time. They got it just 'right'. Sure. Remember how when WOW fans said they wanted Dual Spec'ing in beta, they were astounded to learn we'd have "tri-spec" or even "multi-spec" with full gear load outs too! WOW, I'm sure we're enjoying that now in 2014. source The marketing double-speak runs the gammut from pre-release to this day. It's a short-term time-buyer to get you to sub just one more month or two while you wait for some big promised feature. Don't do it! Don't wait for a big feature like Cross-server which is coming with 1.2, er I mean after 1.2 with the conclusion of Season 1 of PVP, er, I mean, after season 1 someday, er I mean never. (source) Let me put my troll mask back on. It's going to be a trolly night.
  6. At least Khem Val can tank. ... Scourge is what cha' might call an "Ashara"
  7. Everyone is making predictions about EAware's reaction to their latest debacle of the week. I know what to expect. The only sure thing that players can expect is disappointment.
  8. Even with a RL-handicap, you can do great stuff. I used to raid with a deaf guy on voice-comms. I type 70 words per minute so I would type out raid instructions as fast as the raid leader could speak them (I just can't talk and type at the same time). He ended up being one of the top DPS on the server for a while and had the best foot-work and character placement in the guild when we first entered EC. So my point is you just have to find the right work-around, because lets be honest, EAware ain't gonna give it to you. For hull-strength, there are visual indicators on your ship as you take damage. Your smoke trail changes, little explosion animations come off your ship. Those kinds of things. Unless you play a lot to level your ship or use P2W options, you won't need those visual indicators anyway as you'll be 1-shotted. So no worries. For shields, the color is always "yellow" unless you have power to shields. Once power are to shields, you don't need to think about switching it. Any change from shield-power to either weapons or engines will immediately lose you your nice "blue" shields and send you back to "yellow". If one of those shield-arc's goe's black, best re-route power to shields no matter what setting you are on.
  9. I can have players claiming equipping HK gives you more ship-req. Until proof is available and clickable in a link on the forum, there is no reason to asssume such proof exists. And by proof, I simply mean empirical tests run by players. That's all. You can't say "Players can verify that" because maybe you can't. Can't verify something false.
  10. They mostly put in double-xp weekends when there won't be new content for a while.
  11. Persistent housing is definitely the desired goal of any persistent online world. But yeah, I don't see EAware doing this so well. Lotro had neighborhoods of houses in an instance... that's about the best you could hope for and even that is unlikely.
  12. It's to get your blood-pressure up so you'll need a doctor. Obama "Young people think they are invincible..." Some guy: "Did you say Invisible?" Obama "No, invincible, as in, they think they're invincible, as in they can't die. They think playing MMOs all day is safe. I'll give one call to EA and they'll screw those players over so bad they'll be jeolous of their friends who only pay $8 for their blood-pressure medication."
  13. Voice-activated commands could probably get you through some levels of content, if you could even get the keys to activate off of commands. The tough thing is going to be that the global cooldown is 1.4 seconds. That's a pretty short window for Dragonspeach to recognize you've stopped talking, recognize your command and issue it. My recommendation is to look into other gaming periphials that still allow you to use your hands but without keeping your wrists in a static position for long periods of time. Gaming peripherals other than mice and keyboards. A USB gamepad in your lap may be easier on your wrists, yet still have the responsiveness you need for end-game. If you DO go ahead with voice-software, try other softwares that are more gamer focused: http://www.tazti.com/demo_video.php
  14. They already got your subscription money. Sooner or later, you're bound to find out it's an under-payed skeleton crew running everything. Bugs happen because there was nobody but players to test, and they stay broken because EA isn't about to spring for the overtime pay to fix it in time, nor do they see it as a wise investment to compensate you in any way, because you'll probably unsub once you realize it isn't getting any better. Now you understand. Thank you for understanding.
