  1. I appreciate the sentiment Lecaja. My Kids are safe and healthy, that's what matters. All else can be rebuilt, re-earned, etc. As for insurance. No, Our area was in a "100 year Flood Zone" so, even though we are 50 ft from the beach insurance companies would not offer flood insurance before the storm. And FEMA gave nothing. All repairs were out of pocket. I laugh when I hear of concerts for storm survivors and what money is going to help whom. The truth is, nearly zero dollars from all efforts and sources has actually trickled down to the people who need it most. But, that's to be expected from out gov and current administration. All the help we received in our area has come from complete volunteer sources and good Samaritans. Either way, as I said. What really matters in life are the things we cannot buy with money. But again, thank you for your concern and sentiment. Life after all is good. Very good. Soule
  2. I recently returned to the game after being out since hurricane Sandy. (The storm destroyed my home and everything in it) So it took me nearly a year to get the house livable again. When I got back in, I resubbed to SWTOR and in my first login noticed all of the considerable items I had on the GTN for sale were gone. Obviously they timed out, and then were wiped from my mailbox, or sold and the creds were wiped after so long and not logging in. I have 11 toons, all maxed gatherers so when I say "a lot of rare" crafting mats, crafted oranges, and purples for sale I mean a lot... I sent a ticket in asking for a possible solution to recover some of my loss. Devs gave me 720 cartel coins. So, considering I lost in excess of at least 10-20 mill in gear due to not being able to log in and only getting 720 cartel coins, I wouldn't expect a boat load of anything other than frustration and more wait times. 3. As people who pay for a service, regardless of whether that service is road side assistance or access to an online video game. The service should be available when the subscriber needs or wants it. With the understanding that subscribers of said service should exhibit some patience when they are forewarned the service will not be available for a set period of time in the future. HOWEVER, all too often these "Set times" we as paying customers are warned about go WAY over the allotted time. Its not a matter of "Go outside" or "Mow your Lawn" You have no idea about the lives of other subscribers whom you are judging (Work schedules, chore schedules etc). And frankly you have no right to judge anyone. You do however have a right, based on freedom of speech to be unpleasant and abrasive, but that doesn't make you right. It just makes you a troll, who hypocritically isn't outside either. Just inside being nasty to your fellow gamers. Soule
  4. Actually as a Founder who has recently returned, this is very disheartening. There are a ton of F2P games out there, with 1/100 of the SWTOR budget, and power behind them. And they are almost never down for maintenance longer than anticipated. And when they are, their dev team communicates so well and often that the constant updates really take the sting our of waiting even hours longer than promised. MechWarrior Online Forge War Thunder Marvel Heroes Warframe & Guild Wars 2 Rifts Just examples of games with tighter communication with subscribers/players. And before anyone says "So Go play those Games!" Keep in mind, I do. But I keep coming back to SWTOR because I'm a Star Wars Fan. I keep leaving because I often feel the people taking my money are not. Soule
  5. First of all, SWToR is not WoW. Why do people insist on comparing the two. Like comparing basketball and baseball. Just cuz a ball is involved doesn't mean they are anything like each other or even supposed to be. Second, ever been to the desert, or a frozen wasteland? I have, the only people who run endlessly into the desert looking for a terminus, are those looking for a terminus in life. Third, the reason Bioware has created such short borders is to remind the players "hey, your going the wrong way... the incredible storyline we spent years developing for you is back thataway." I hated the huge treks in WoW from point a to point b, being forced to run along roads and hope I didn't get attacked by endless streams of wolves, bunny rabbits, zombies, etc. I am just amazed at the things people complain about. 6. As a serious Adult Gamer, who has been playing MMO's since the internet saw fit to birth them I can say I have alot of experience with MMO launches and their extended or in some cases short lived lifespans. SWtoR has been so anticipated that it was nearly impossible for the actual game to live up to the publics expectations. I won't speak for the public, but as part of that public I can say that I am very happy. I won't list the shortcomings as they are few and far in between AND mostly due to launch growing pains. Simple things that should be readily fixed over the coming months. I have played a BH to lvl 20, a Consular to lvl 12, an Agent to lvl 16 and an Inquisitor to lvl 4 (just started him). I agree whole heartedly with the positive speakers in this thread, that the voices of the complainers often seem to be more numerous because the vast majority of players who are enjoying the game are PLAYING. As a new parent and husband, I dont get to put the hours into my gaming that I used to (30-40hrs a week). Nowadays I settle for 2-3 hrs a night after the wife and baby are alseep, and then crawl into work tired and seeing laser trails, and flame bursts overlayed onto my bosses face, or client forms... The game is really good. Anyone who feels differently is certainly entitled to their opinion, but in my experience, they are probably people who would also find complaints with other incredible games, and other nice things in life. "Ohhh...Her chest is too perky" "A hundred dollar bill, where am I gunna cash this!" "A game developer that actually delivered what it claimed to... Now what am I gunna whine about?" etc..... Thanks to all the players, devs, program writers, voice actors, and back office peeps who have made this game into a truly immersive experience. I still don't feel like I'm grinding, but adventuring. I DO feel like my convo choices matter, and often sit there for several moments tormented over my desire to put a blaster bolt into a contacts face, but worried it might impact me poorly later. Again, great job. See you all in game.... (After I get my son to sleep Soule
  7. Whoever says its not possible, just simply hasn't seen it implemented. Take the good parts of different successful systems used in other MMO's. First: Only players killed in PvP can place a bounty, and then only on the player who killed them, and only immediately after the kill. Second: The bounty is up to the player who creates it. If they have deep pockets, let them place a big one. Third: Bounty can be attacked anywhere the BH encounters them after acquiring contract. For anyone who worries about this system creating an abundance of Bounty Hunters...DON'T. Its not as easy as the inexperienced would assume to collect a one on one player bounty. If you can only put bounties on players who kill you in pvp, then in most cases the Marks would be experienced and skilled PvP'ers... who like myself back in the days was always weary of every BH I happened by, and hoped they were after me cuz I lived for PvP. You'd quickly see the Flavor of the month BH's switch back to their Jedi's and Smugglers and Sith cuz "The player bounty BH system Sucks in this Game" But rest assured the really good BH's would stay with it and gain some rep. All in all its a system that could work. Easily. And anyone who whined or raged about it, could just transfer to a non pvp server. You want to pvp, then understand there might be a price on your head. I loved past BH player bounty systems, and in most cases I was always the mark. But it made for some of the best PvP experiences in my long MMO career and created some real exciting enemies that I still have from MMO to MMO. Soule
