  1. Not sure is it bugged or intended, but even if I retreated and waited for NPCs to aggro, I was automaticaly aimed by everyone as soon as I engaged with any mob anyway. Not necessary to add I died quite a few times in a quite a fast way before I asked a 60 to help me.
  2. - When you design or doodle your new masterpiece and hope to get second Wacom because dual-wielding pen is so sexy
  3. ME 1 was fine. Nothing too original (blablabla one chosen hero - save the galaxy please... again) but it has some sweet spots to be remembered. ME 2 was dissapointment for me, never actually finished it. If ME 3 will be better I might consider it, and it will have nothing to do with TOR.
  4. And what does it have to do with our discussion? I have never stated that GW has anything good apart from PvP. I just can't undertand why copy good/crappy solutions entirely from WoW, instead copying good/good from both (not even mentioning about inventing something new ) And that is precisely what I'd like to see in MMO - same class gear and same level avalaible for EVERY participating player from the beginning. Player differing with builds and, obviously, personal skills. Rewarding with ranking positions, aestethique items, titles etc. and MINOR advantage in stats is more than enough. Unless gaming scene fallen already so deep in the bog-swamp, where precious roflstomping gear is the only thing that matters (in that case there can be no better comment: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=35TbGjt-weA). There is a great saying about one political faction, that is more than relevant to this topic. I will paraphrase it: gear progresionism is a system, which heroicaly solves problems created by itself. LOL! WHAT?! The gear gap making one people overpowered is the solution for the class imbalance? Dude, you have to share your stuff with me.
  5. Actually, since BW cannot redesign whole system in the GW style, they should at least use their own bolster system to minimise the gear gap (no matter if it was obtained through PvP or PvE grind). Before they will even think about releasing new gear tiers. Wait, what? Player vs player mode is not actually about competition between the players, beeing better than other players? And btw. main aspect of RolePlayingGame is ... role-playing, not gear grind . I hope that you, so much concerned about RPGs, are at least using emoticons in the propper situations... That is why I asked before - how do you imagine a system when fresh 50s are in a worse situation then fresh 10s because of enourmous gear gap. Do you really want discourage so many players that WZ que will last few hours? As you stated, all by yourself, fun factor is the clue. I can put enough time and effort to beat player, if actually I'm given a chance. Increasing gear gap is taking this chance away from me even further - I might have enough skill to beat average BM geared, but I have nowhere enough leisure time to beat his grind time. It's not cool, and has nothing to do with PvP/MMO or gaming at all - games are meant to be some kind of challenge, yes, but are not hiting the concrete wall with your head. If BW will introduce some smart bolster improvements to minimise the gap, there's nothing to be worry about. If top gear tiers will have their own brackets - well, ques will last an eon, but rest of players will have some fun. But if new tier will be threw into current system just like that *snaps* there's nothing good for PvP in this game. Frankly speaking I'm more impatiently looking forward GW2. This franchise intriduced the best PvP that ever was implemented in any MMO (maybe apart from UO with full gear dead-drops. I would really like to see what gear progression follower says after a bunch of freshies loot his precious body; I'm also wondering if this ex-geared player would still insist that grind is fun - if so he shouldnt have any problems with getting the same gear again).
  6. The very first reason is: gaps are not competitive. The very second reason is: world PvP is already screwed, increasing gear gap will be coup de grace, shooting wounded horse, or an execution at the orphan. The very third reason: previous reasons combined will eventually kill PvP in the game at all.
  7. I was afraid this moment will eventually happen. How many new tiers are you expecting? How great gap between players will be crossing the red line? Do we really need a situation when fresh 50 will be worse, than 10 in 10-49 brackets? Having a mix of ceuntrions/ purples and one champion offhand gives me currently at most chance to tickle full champion+ geared. How do you imagine PvP if there were higher tiers? 1 ubamaster stomping 8 fresh people without a sweat? Gear progression in PvP is a dead end. Inevitably with new tiers introduced to maintain grinders - the only people bothering to play in this system - interest. There will be grinded untouchable supermans and no new blood flowing into PvP system at the same time, discouraged by the enormous gaps. Will the PvP survive in the long term? I really really doubt that (although I really really wish this game to succed).
  8. Why wasn't it made like that it the first place . +1 edit: Maybe a division of playstyles (pure killing vs objectives) should be held like that. Frag hunts would be WZ in arena-style (with a nod giving an edge to the capper - turrets for example) and objectives will be on Ilum (and other open PvP) with DotA gameplay. At the same time, OPs idea might easily fix the pop imbalance issue. Unlike leaving things like the're now, or buffing minor faction players - both ways are considered unfair and might (are) produce (ing) a huge amount of rage - NPCs might be scaled with buff/spawns considering faction pop imbalance without screwing up player-driven chars balance.
  9. And what would be the point of camouflage if you can see a nameplate over head?
  10. We already have out of cover dmging ability, however it's insanely energy-expensive in comparison to the output damage, and no one use it. It's called Quick Shot. It requires reworking to be usefull at all. The whole cover thing would be a nice tool, if the cover's damage mitigation had some real impact on the battlefield. It mitigates all ranged damage - cool. I cannot be hit by shooting mobs in PvE if i stay in hard cover which is quite funny and saved my back few times. However it's quite useless in PvP since no other class (maybe with the Agents exception) uses ranged damage. Nor force, nor techs are mitigated by cover which is simply a design flaw for our AC. *** is the point of covering then if it do not cover us? IMO slingers just need tweaks. With buffing covers to mitigate some percentage of whole incoming damage (10%? 15%? it could be thing increased by talents in the tree). Or with significant increase of ballistic damper numbers (it is a good idea, but 3 is not enough, since it can be brought down in a blink of an eye by any class). Probably we need a mix of both to have survivability on the battlefield, yet of course it has to be balanced to avoid gunslingers taking an ultimate tank role (imagine slinger with too much dampers, with cover mitigation, and with a guard put on - indestructible )
  11. Have anyone encountered flashy-type body with long barrel (like Correlia's mobs are using)?
  12. What people can barely realise - the so called "enemies" are just normal, everyday people, just from the different part of the world. They do not have more aggressive nature than you, the "good-guys", do... nor the less. What makes us believe so, is warfare (politic) propaganda, system of beliefs, emotions and many other factors, encouraging own egocentrism to flourish and consider ourselves "the better ones". Not that it is something unsusal among history cards. I'd rather say that this tribal behaviour of "my tribe/group/country/nation/continent/whatever is better than yours" is the most basic instinct, which humanity still haven't grown up from yet. It's sad and natural at the same time, that we are not so far from the cavemans and first hominoidea, half-animal ancestors. We still use the same brains and its mechanics to perceive and reason. Ok, smart-*** mode off
  13. Do you girls know who has/is: 1. Strenght and honor 2. Intelligence with a touch of romantism 3. Always walking with bare, muscled and hairy chest ? . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Bowdar!
  14. Skavak - he's increadibly annoying and I was really looking forward to kill him. Well writen nemesis role
  15. Two smugglers for both ACs. Scoundrel at 47 (hit it before 1.1 and abandoned - serves crafting purpose only now) and gunslinger at 50. And juggernauth at mid 20 but I don't even bother with him
