1) I always min/max before advanced gear and then replace the individual armoring/mods/enhancements with the advanced equivalent. I find the damage/heals returns from min/max'ing to be much higher than getting the next tier of gear. 2) If the players are of equal skill, min/max advanced is about 10% better than min/max regular, and min/max regular is about 15% better than bolster (with 2018 exp.)

Black Swan Solutions Black Swan Solutions is an Imperial faction RP-PvP Guild on the Ebon Hawk server. Our use of "RP-PvP” is defined twofold: First, each character contains a backstory and personality (to varying depth) separate from the player controlling him/her in real life. During the appropriate times (RP sessions) players will use /me and /say in chat to "act” in the role of their character. When this is occurring, a player is said to be "In character” (IC). All other times players are considered "Out of Character” (OOC). BSS members do not remain "IC” in guild and group channels, in warzones, or in Teamspeak. Secondly, BSS defines RP-PvP to mean that conflict within an RP Session is to be settled by the dueling system. We believe this method to be superior to scripted combat, or dice rolls because it definitively produces winners and losers based on a player’s skill. To be the galaxy’s most indomitable Sith Lord, you must actually defeat your opponents in game. Black Swan Solutions was founded by members with RP, PvP, and PvE backgrounds, and is open to all forms of play within the guild. However, PvE requires a certain infrastructure to be able to operate effectively and consistently. We do not currently have that infrastructure in place, nor do we have any plans for it in the future. While members will not be discouraged from participating in PvE with other guilds, they must be actively engaged in our RP or PvP operations. If you are looking for a group for raids though, BSS is probably not the place for you. Our guild draws on a wide range of PvP knowledge, spanning nearly every class and specialization as well as the experience of using each in Warzones, Open World/Event, and Dueling. We offer instruction on outfitting, rotations/ability priorities, and the employment of each class for those new or inexperienced with PvP. For more advanced PvPers we provide very competitive opponents to test yourself against and hone your abilities, as well as the opportunity to add to the strength of our group. Finally, Black Swan Solutions is rich with stories ready to be explored and added to by each incoming RPer. Whether you’ve never RPed before and would like to learn how, or you’re a veteran RPer looking for a great story in which to make your mark, you’ll find your place within Black Swan Solutions. The population here is pretty good. Unranked queue time are usually 5-10 mins during prime time and about 10-25 in the really off hours. Solo Ranked queues don't happen every day, usually 3 or so times a week and Team is only done by a few guilds. Space PvP queues are about 10-15 mins at prime time. As to faction balance in 55's, Imps dominate ground PvP and most of the better PvP'ers main imp side. Pub side still gets a few wins when the few pub guilds run some premades or Imps switch to alts. As to 10-29 and 30-54, it tends to rotate a lot and one faction usually doesn't dominate both brackets. Space is a bit more balanced, but most of the better pilots are pub side.
