  1. Operative/Scoundrel healers. They will be impossible to take down 1v1 with the overall change to burst damage.
  2. How has no one noticed the similarity in titles between this thread and the nerf pyrotech thread?
  3. They have the bestest burst in the game they can hit you with 3 tracer missile, then a rail shot, then a heatseeker missiles. This all adds up to 6k damage followed by a 9k damage burst. This is way too much and this class will be in for huge nerfs because they deserve it.

  6. Powertechs are crazily overpowered right now. They can literally kill you with just 3 shots (4 shot if you're a tank wearing tank gear). The fact that this class hasn't been drastically nerfed is just baffling. When a Powertech can double-cast railshot on you while a thermal detonator crits you for 6k then followup with a flamethrower that does 3k damage a tick I'm pretty sure a trained monkey could get 600k dps with 75 kills in a game of voidstar? Want to run away from them? Nope sorry, you are perma-snared and they can use the Scorpion maneuver to pull you back. Have someone to help you? Doesn't matter, they always have a shield up that blocks 50% of their damage taken. Stun them? Nope, they can just break out of it. Have a healer take their dots of you so rail shot can't be used? They'll just reapply it. Outlast them so they run out of energy? Nope, they will just hit one button to restore all their energy. The fact is that I'm a pro pvp'er who actually gets paid to PvP, I do this for a living folks. There are maybe 5 people in the whole game that would have a chance of beating me in a fair fight. I even use my mouse to move. I'll routinely solo Huttball by grabbing the ball and scoring 6 times. In Novare coast I solo defend both east and west. I basically pwn everybody until some noob powertech rolls along that just LOLbbqiCastRailShot beats me. Yay good for you you hit your two I WIN buttons and got me. The only conclusion that can be drawn is that Powertechs must be insanely overpowered due to the fact that I can't beat them. If a really good player can never beat a particular class...there is a problem there people!! This class can simply never, ever, be beat 1v1. By the way if you don't want to take my word for it, just take a look at this video: . Notice how the powertech takes out 4 players at once with flame sweep? Yeah tell me that isn't OP. They just keep on spamming their 2 iWin buttons and end up at the top of damage and protection. BIOWARE I DEMAND YOU STICKY THIS THREAD SO THAT YOU CAN BE REMINDED OF YOUR CLASS BALANCE FAILINGS EVERY SINGLE DAY.
  7. I find that the response one gets from statements they make is generally a reflection of the content in their message. The "L2P" type response is generally given to the person calling for nerfs.
  8. I have a lot of alts, most at 50, a few at 40. I've literally played every single AC heavily in PvP and only have 2 that have yet to reach 50. I've played on both the republic and the imperial side. After all this time, I've started to notice something. No matter what class I'm playing, I'm always at the top of the leaderboards at the end of the match in medals, my primary action (dps, heal, or protection), and I'm always "noticed" by the other team. I always do really well, but I've never felt like I'm in "god-mode" on any class. I always have deaths, someone can always beat me. In 1v1 sometimes I lose and sometimes I win against good players. If it's a 1v3 against horrible players yes, I can beat all 3 of them but it doesn't matter what class they are and it doesn't matter what class I'm playing. So really the only thing that is overpowered is good players playing bad players. When people are calling for nerfs they really aren't saying that a class needs to be changed. They are saying that they want to have an equal chance to win a fight against someone even if their is a skill discrepancy between them. For example a keyboard turner should have the same chance of success against a non-clicker using adrenals that he would have against another keyboard turner. To truly fix this balance problem, Bioware should create a "skill penalty". The more player kills you get, the more your hp and primary stat get reduced. And they more times you are killed, the more your primary stat increases with your HP. That way even the worst player would eventually get to "gank" someone. **Since this is the internet, I'll point out that this "idea" is not meant to be taken seriously and should be viewed as a criticism of people wanting classes nerfed in a sarcastic format**
  9. Has Bioware ever stated why we can't queue for PvP with 8 people in a group? Leaving cross server and rated warzones alone for a moment, why can't we queue with 8 people? Is this a design decision or a limitation?
  10. I think people are being too dramatic about this. Some people just prefer the 3 rail shot burst over the TD burst. They are both viable, it's not as if one is a super noob spec.
  11. It's nice for you that your targets always already have an affect on them before you've attacked that allows you to use your railshot. Unfortunately this isn't always the case for me and sometimes I need to use an ability on the target I'm attacking that allows me to use my railshot on them. I think you may be doing the community a dis-service by offering "advice". The general consensus on our server is that you're an okay dps while you have 2 pocket healers keeping you alive and that you're almost pug-bad when solo queuing.
  12. There are a few different variations of each spec, I didn't go into detail on each one since the post wasn't really about the different specs. I personally don't use either spec, but the two I listed gives a general idea. The heat management is better on the non-31 pt. ability since it doesn't revolve around TD, which is a heat hog. If TD alone made the target be considered "burning" I'd be much more in favor of the 31 pt. spec's heat management. As it is you have to either also cast IM in addition to TM before using a rail shot, or you need to hit flame burst which may waste your free rail shot proc.

  14. There are basically 2 pyrotech builds. One that uses Thermal Detonator, and one that trades Thermal Detonator for an increase to Aim and "flame damage" Here are the burst rotations you're most likely to see. The damage numbers I've listed are estimated. If it's someone without any PvP gear the numbers are obviously much higher.
