    Why not?

My opinions in this thread may have been expressed before, and if so I do apologize. However, there are many ideas and searching to make sure you arn't repetitive is...time consuming. There are many things I don't understand the Whys and Why nots too, and as I'm not a game developer maybe it isn't my place TO understand everything, but I still have questions and ideas. Firstly... CC: CC is such a problem, as many people have pointed out. Well, most of the time when people talk about CC being a problem in pvp it comes to Huttball. Why? Mostly because you're knocked in the pitt, acid, flames, etc while carrying the ball. Or because you're resolve didn't kick in like it should. I for one think it's ridiculous to have one or two choice classes with a stun+knock back=putting you anywhere I want you. I.E stunned, knockbacked into acid pit. Why not make Acid pits and flametraps do less damage, that way when you get knocked into them by what some say an imbalance isn't quiet so insta-death. Resolve issue? Why not make resolve meter go up by how long you stay stunned/rooted/snared/mezzed instead of each hitting you building certain amounts. You could choose more wisely when to use your CC break to build it to the immunity, and at least in my opinion feel like you had more control over it, while at the same time certain classes such as warriors wouldn't feel gimped in CC when using two abilities generates a full resolve, or sorcs wouldn't seem so strong when their CC generates less resolve.Would it fix all the CC problems? No, of course not. But it'd at least be a push in the correct direction, in my opinion. People leaving warzones/Afkers: This seems far more simple to me. The people who leave warzones get bound to that warzone, that group, until it is finished. That way you don't feel as if you have been put on a CD to when you can que next, you won't be punished if you are DCed, etc etc. While that in itself isn't a perfect solution, you could add in a Halo-ish theme to the warzones. If you quit too many times, probation and therfor the CD to que again. If you've quit enough to get that, you deserve it and it's not a DC matter. And if you stay for so many in a row without leaving, a bit of a bonus as incentive. Afkers, if not having healed/moved/damaged in the past so often get a small little checkbox to see if they are even there. If they don't respond in a timely fashion, a kick is initiated. If you were just afk to get a drink or phonecall, you could rejoin with the system I suggested and keep your stats/medals with hardly any downside. Please, discuss but do so in a decent enough manner. Not Lul your stupid this wont work, etc etc, but rather why it wont and build apon the theories, not dismiss them. Make them work to where we have something to show and something to hope for.
  2. I'm going to start out this reply to a long debate with the PVE things that people have mentioned first. Player balances. It's not biowares fault if people roll one faction over another, anyone who disagrees is...just beyond help. Apperances. Sith are dark, so obviously their gear is darker and more malevolent. If you think that is cool and better, then thats YOUR opinion. Someone else might like the jedis pure and simple, like myself. I personally find the jedi robes much better than the sith, and its an opinion. Whoever disagrees and says that I'm wrong, guess what...It's an opinion. Now for the pvp. The cast times..Yes, there are a few things (and possibly big things that impact it largely) with casting animations and such. But this is still a very new mmo. The issues will get addressed, as others before them have. I know for a fact that DFA has some bug with it that for at least a second it won't do damage. I know this because I used it on the door that republic was arming in Voidstar and they finished it before they took damage. All of it will be fixed, and its not completly one sided one way or another. Please try to think about what you are saying and realize some truth before you start a multi-page debate over wether a game developer is purposesfully gimping one side or another. And obviously they wouldn't, because that would cut into profits.
  3. The storylines are catered to the class. A trooper will, of course, be more militaristic. Yes Sir, I'll blow the hell out of that right away. Whereas an inquisitor will torture a guy for information, and an imperial agent will do espionage..The actual questing is kind of generic mmo, because...What else do you do? MMOs you kill, gather, and talk. Not sure what else there is, really...The cinematics are amazing, in my opinion, to help with the RPG feel of it. Even in an RPG game, non mmo, what do you do? You kill and gather materials. I think you may have just picked up on the wrong class, or maybe militaristic storyline just isn't for you. Just seems kind of common sense that thats what a trooper would be an do, to me.
