  1. 37, and I teach your kids. Well, I try to. And then from time to time, I kick their butts in pvp. Anything to get them to go back to their textbooks.
  2. Erm... I get your point and I agree that there's more appeal to the bad guys, like some have said. I'd even blame rock and roll. After all Johnny Cash wasn't the Man In White. Seriously, though, Lucas making the Sith side more appealing? Luke's story is way more interesting than his father's. Of course, I blame it on the prelogy being utter movie garbage, but still, who wants to be Anakin after they've seen the prelogy? Ugh...
  3. Wanted to bash the kid, then you did. And I lol'd. +10 internets
  4. lol, brokers. If those people knew what they are doing, we wouldn't be where we are now.
  5. Hmm... I find it actually very interesting to play a mighty warrior who's capable of infinite compassion, even to their worst enemies. A classic Hollywood plot trick that I hate is when the hero shows that kind of compassion, then the bad guy tries one last time to backstab him, forcing the hero to kill him anyway. I'm nicely pleased to see that they avoided that more often than not here. Oh and I find the moral choices on Rep side much more interesting, too. You're not only facing a morals vs personal gain dilemma, but often a morals vs greater good dilemma. At least the Jedi. Far more stimulating for the philosophically inclined.
  6. Tough one, kept getting spanked at 38 with Qyzen. Then I tried with Zenith, who seemed to tank better (probably cause my Qyzen's armor isn't really top notch). Qyzen tended to break Force Lift with his aoe, which Zenith doesn't. Plus Zenith kills them faster while you can focus more on healing him and interupting the AOEs. Once you get the hang of it, it's actually almost easy. CC, heals, kill melees first.
  7. I like it lots. Still on the fence as to if I love it or not. With two other very promising MMORPGs on the horizon, I'll wait for a definitive, huge thumbs up. But it's really good stuff here. Flame posts are pretty common in MMOs, especially right at launch. Played my share of them from launch, so I'd know. A large majority are trolls. Another large majority are people with unrealistic expectations. Some are also pretty much right about their complaints, but are maybe overplaying it. Depends on the game, really. I remember the flaming at the launch of Champions Online, which was often deserved. In the case of ToR, a lot of them, I just don't get, cause the game is pretty good. So yeah, I'd say I'm happy so far. The thing is, satisfied customers are a much more silent community than the others. They're just playing and a lot of them don't feel the need to start a thread in the forums to state it.
  8. I stopped reading there. Came from lotro (which I still play). Played tons of MMO's, my first was EVE Online, then came City of Heroes, lotro, Champions Online, Age of Conan, a brief Rift moment, even briefer Aion moment, Vanguard, Star Trek Online, Lineage 2, DCUO. A few of them I've played long, like EVE or CoH or lotro, most just tried and left. But never, ever played WoW or even was remotely interested in it.
  9. I don't get that. I've been playing this game since early start, around the 15th of december. Played probably more than any other MMO before, yet my highest character is 37. Have one level 15 and one 28 on the side. And with the current xp returns, I don't expect to get to 50 before probably around a month. Not gonna comment on the OP's probable lack of a life besides the game, as tempting as it is. But I never understood that philosophy of racing to level cap. With the inevitable complaining about a lack of endgame. I'm yet to see an MMO with lots of endgame at launch, they're always lacking there at launch. For an obvious reason, the great majority of players will take time to get there.
  10. Yeah, I'd tend to agree. I've accomplished things and I'm just a 26 Sage. Sometimes brains beat brawl. But still, on the server I'm on (which is a PVE server, to Mr. Useless Remark up there) there is a very often a big imbalance between Empire and Republic in that regard. As in Empire often has more high levels than Republic. Probably because there is more Imperials at all, first. Also because, and that's a personal theory, open to debate, because people who want to be overpowered and win without challenge also want to be the bad guy. Another interesting fact: the imbalance disappears in the later hours of the day. Cause those leet Imps are all kids?
  11. By serious pvpers, you mean no-lifers who played 24/7 for a couple weeks so they can be level 50 and pwn casuals in pvp?
  12. I guess that was a promotional lie. Well... a slight alteration of the truth. The other thousands are there, they're just spread out over the dozens of servers. I see around 130-180 people on average in the (early) zones I usually play in. Considering most people are in the starter/early areas, I'd say that was the bulk of my server, with maybe a couple hundreds spread out on the rest of the server. If you want to play alongside hundreds, I suggest EVE Online. Learn fast, join a big alliance that's at war with another and find yourself battling with 200 or so people. keep in mind, though, you'll have to accept the fact that you're running 1 frame/ten minutes and that usually when your screen unfreezes, you're either dead or the battle is over in most cases. If you're lucky, you get to pew pew a lil'. In short, if you want to battle alongside thousands here, be prepared to not being able to play at all/watch your graphics card step out of your compy to come and insult you for playing such a performance greedy game.
  13. You forget to mention that in the end, if you try to heal the stoopids real hard and the group wipes, they'll think it's your fault you wiped. A lot of melee people tend to ignore anything happening around them. I play support in lotro and sometimes PUGs... ugh. I'm gonna go shadow when I get to level 10... yeah, shadow. *nodnod*
  14. Belgian from Liège. I don't really speak dutch, but still a close neighbour, so hi to the Nederlands and Vlaanderen peeps!
