  1. I've made a thread about this before, and this is really badly needed. +1
  2. If my guild could be allowed to transfer to the Republic, I would change. However, even though I'm personally willing to level up from 1, all my friends might not! So, big support for the transfer to underdog side!
  3. VS Thank you for reading my post carefully. Also, I see this a lot, 'allow a one-time respecc!'. So, if it turns out you don't like the new AC, won't you scream you want to change back? Which in a way makes sense as it is your original AC? Hence, allowing a one-time respecc will sooner or later lead to a more respeccs.
  4. First of all, apologies for the dramatic title, but now I have your attention. There are usually two arguments used for why AC respeccs should be allowed, below I will explain why I think these are not good justifications: SIMILARITY. The argument used here is that given that the ACs share half the skills, they a not very unique. However, there are two responses to this. Firstly, many unrelated ACs will share many skills as well, although they are labelled differently, yet that is not seen as a reason to allow a change between those (two skills that both do X damage and stuns for Y are really essentially the same). Secondly, the half of the skillset that does differ can create vastly different feels to the ACs. So, let's go through the classes and see if they are that similar (of course also mirrored to Republic as well): Sorcerer (Healer or Ranged caster DPS) and Assassin (Melee tank or Melee stealth DPS) are very different (pretty much no overlap). Juggernaut (Tank or Melee DPS) and Marauder (Melee DPS) are fairly similar. Mercenary (Healer or Ranged DPS) and Powertech (Tank or Melee DPS) are very different (pretty much no overlap). Operative (Healer or Melee stealth DPS) and Sniper (Ranged DPS with cover) are very different (pretty much no overlap). As I hope this demonstrates Bioware has made an effort to make the ACs different. I my opinion a Powertech Tank has more in common with a Juggernaut Tank than with a Mercenary of any specc. [*]STORY. Argument here is that two ACs share the same story, and therefore it makes sense to allow a respecc. This point is in my opinion more valid. However, the class story is a small part of the overall levelling process, I would guess around 10% of the content (at most). In effect, you're already sharing 90% of the content with the other classes! If you can bear with repeating 90% of the content, why not 100% (like in most other mmos)? Also, you can make the experience much less repetitive if you choose too, for example focus more on flashpoints, PvP or spacecombat. Finally, the experience will be more interesting as the combat will feel different with the other AC. All in all, by allowing AC respeccs Bioware show that they have no respect for persistent choices, which in my opinion is very serious. Everyone receives a warning at lvl 10 that this choice is final. Now, I can understand that some people do not understand the decision, and I would be willing to agree to a AC respecc before lvl 20. However, if you are higher than lvl 20 there is really no excuse. TL;DR: ACs are vastly different and fulfil different roles. If Bioware allow a swap between Powertech and Mercenary, why not allow a change between Powertech and Juggernaut? (in my opinion they are more similar) It's a very dangerous path.
  5. Oh this is a great suggestion! I find it very disturbing that friends have to split up just because they want to try out different factions!
  6. Quite a simple suggestion, but as a tank I find it frustrating that I have to rightclick the portrait to mark an enemy, I'd very much appreciate the ability to bind these to the keyboard.
  7. I'm playing a Light side Marauder and as such I'm not very fond of the strong red of the Marauder's Vest. Has anyone encountered a blue/green/white version of this chest model?
  8. I vote no. MAYBE allow a choice to switch if it's pre lvl 30 or something, and then it might be a genuine mistake, and the person might not have understood how the AC would play. However, allowing a lvl 50 to swap is just crazy, it essentially means that half the classes can fulfil any role within a group. If you really want another role, just make a new character for god's sake...
  9. Can someone clarify what changed? I'm probably blind, but I can't see any changes listed at http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=1276185
  10. I've noticed the same thing! Should be a option to increase it.
  11. Well, personally I play Empire as my friends wanted to play it, but I find the Republic gear much nicer (I prefer Consular to SI, JK to SW, Trooper to BH, but I do think IA has cooler gear than Smugglers!).
  12. A brief question, does the Infiltrator talent in the Concealment tree work on stealth movement only? (I heard there was a bug at some point, so would like a confirmation)
  13. I really agree with this, probably the biggest disappointment with the class so far.
  14. This is a horrrible, horrible idea. It completely takes away any sense of uniqueness.
