  1. If you arent willing to make the effort to gear up, you dont deserve anything more than to be smashed in pvp. A person serious about surviving as a fresh 50 would make an effort to gear up as best he can with BoE's, rather than just going into a WZ with 11k hp and then QQing when he racks up 15 deaths. Simply put, the effort that you put into the game, should be proportional to your performance. Nothing wrong here.
  2. I think you forgot to mention that when joining a Huttball match in progress, you can get locked behind the gate and end up being kicked out from the AFK timer through entirely no fault of your own. Quite frustrating. (If you did mention it, my bad, I'm not feeling at my best today )
  3. I've heard that some of the early bugs in the game were effectively foreseen by closed beta testers and passed on to the developers, but such insights were effectively ignored. This of course easily leads to the comment that "the game was rushed for a Christmas release". I can't remember exactly which specific bugs these are, because I only absorb the important gist of certain posts into my memory . Also, with regards to the section where you say that the sheer amount of people playing can cause bugs to appear: is it not common practise for multiplayer games in beta testing to attempt to "stress test" their servers to try and iron out such bugs? Although I have not participated in beta testing for MMO's, it seems like a logical thing to do. Nonetheless it seems rather poor form to try and rush out a game in which serious bugs that can severely impact one's happiness with the game are still present (character responsiveness and animation-ability delay, for example). This in turn leads to over-worked CS teams, poor word-of-mouth reviews, etc, which may end up costing the company even more sales in the long run. Although not exactly on topic, I would also like to express my continuing disbelief that the CS posters use droid avatars and names on the forums. Perhaps it is within the spirit of the Star Wars theme, but with the CS teams being lambasted on the forums over certain points such as their general slowness in response times, run-of-the-mill "we are aware of this issue, thanks and goodbye" replies, it's not hard to think that CS really lacks that human connection to the playerbase. Would like to hear your comments, if any!
  4. Try doing Leap + Force Push + Leap to the goalline for a score. You'll feel like a hero (and the poor sod you just abused will feel pretty sad).
  5. Yeah you have to use the cc breaker. I think another way to trigger the bug is to knockback the mob without stunning it. (e.g. from force push) It's irritating as hell, though, when youre stuck in place and your health whittles away from a mob that isnt even there anymore.
  6. Great thread. What many of the dissenters have failed to note is that the key to success in an MMO from a corporate standpoint stems from keeping their players playing. At the high-end operations (raiding) level, people play on because of 1) The difficulty and challenge of the hardest content the game has to offer 2) The loot rewards and the prestige (they come together!) associated with defeating these challenges. With respect to (1), much more needs to be delivered in terms of boss mechanics at the higher tiers. Although I havent had the chance to go into NmM and so speak from a slightly ignorant standpoint, I have heard the mechanics are the same and they just made the DPS checks harder. Having this be the rule rather than the exception (if true) is a real problem, because it forces the game to be largely gear or composition dependent past a certain point, which is boring (and there isnt even combat logs to support DPS optimisation!) However, this thread is more about (2). There needs to be a rigorous slope of gear progression to encourage players and guilds to test themselves on more cutting-edge content to progress in the game loot-wise. The organisation required to complete HM FE and get Columi tierchests is nothing compared to, say, HM Soa. Right now the loot aspect has been (more or less) eliminated with the ability for players to very easily tier-jump, leaving players with just the prestige aspect, which is insufficient in the long run and puts uneccessary pressure on the developers to keep coming out with new fights and content simply to keep the gear progression aspect active and the raiding playerbase interested.
  7. If there was an enemy or two in close proximity to you, then perhaps he was worried the ball would be intercepted. How far away from the carrier are we talking here? There is a limited range to how far you can pass - if the carrier is on the top scaffolding and you're at the goal line, you're too far. Once you get more experience running the ball yourself you'll get a feel for the range. More likely though, he's just a baddie Lots of people miss point-winning passes cause they think they are good just cause a healer or two is frantically focusing heals on them.
  8. You obviously haven't played another MMO if complaints like these are new to you.

    Some data

I'm sorry, but 20 datapoints is far too few for any sort of significant analysis. Get 100 or maybe 200, then we'll talk. Also you may want to ensure a fair distribution across the three different warzones, as well as considering not just the top DPS of the winning side but also the losing side, etc. The great variance of levels in the 10-49 bracket will also severely impact your results, especially when you have so few datapoints to speak of. I could go on, but I'm sure you know what I mean.
  10. Well put. I'll try to remember to use this next time in another thread. I'm surprised the OP hasnt come out to defend his statements or to discuss his points.
  11. This is compounded by the fact that people joining the game in progress get stuck behind the spawn gate and end up being forced out by the timer. Has happened to me many a time.
  12. Try to get some welfare lvl 50 epics before diving in, as a suggestion
  13. What kind of time limitation are we talking about here. I don't think one hour of uninterrupted playtime is much to ask for, and most HMs dont, or shouldnt, take that long.
  14. Although I read most of your post, I'm not quite sure why I gave you the time of day. You bring up very pertinent points. But, please replace all "empire" with "republic" and vice versa, and you'd pretty much describe what's happening on MY server, with the exception of the healer part which, as a healer on Emp side, I can't comment upon. I cannot stand all these posts which purport a faction imbalance in terms of "soft" skills like teamwork and cooperation when THESE PROBLEMS ARE ALL SERVER SPECIFIC! Rep side talks more in ops chat. Rep side wins more. Emp side derps more. I can easily reverse your faction names and create a mirror post. Your post is about why one faction loses a lot more and the other wins a lot more, and brings up pertinent reasons why this issue is systemic. Not about Republic, or Empire per se.
