  1. I didn't think the content was overly easy, not the hm's or the operations.. I would have liked more operation content tho..
  2. If you wanted this game to be great, you would have been posting on these forums while it was still being developed.. at this point you have to understand that total game redesigns are probably not an option.. I have a lot of passion too, and I wanted it to be a lot different than it turned out to be, I posted on the forums in the early days, tried to make myself heard but BioWare still produced/released a game that really didn't adhere to many of the ideals forum posters were hoping for.. Read the press release they did in 2008, this is the game Bioware said they were making, and its the game they made, sure feedback is taken etc.. But understand that they still made the exact game they said they were gonna make in that press release, and not the next SWG that many forum posters were hoping for back then.. I think some of you have your demographics slightly effed up, or think that the world is centered around the hardcore mmo'ers pow.. Meh.. If you can't see what I mean, I guess you won't ever..
  3. I am not exactly talking about useful constructive feedback, using the suggestions box etc... Most of these threads are just angry drama threads, with, as someone said above, nothing but a text written so some dude could vent his frustration/anger.. Hey I have a lot of suggestions etc. for the game, the best way to go about them is NOT to post some silly adolescent angry thread in general discussion, but to actually use the suggestion box...
  4. Yes feedback is good, but some of the feedback require total game redesign, if you are not new to mmo's you know this kind of feedback is useless..
  5. You didn't read my post I think.. The point is it's kind of silly to whine about something that's already done, made.. Released.. It's like if I went to a fruitdealer and wanted a apple, and he showed me an orange and told me it's not an apple, and then I convinced myself that maybe it will taste like an apple after all it's still fruit.. Then went home and found it to my duuurrh big surprise that it didn't taste like an apple.. Then going back to the fruitdealer telling him his oranges suck cus they dont taste like apples...
  6. So SWTOR is out, obviously this forum is full of people who are dropping their 2cents on why this game is such a fail etc. Why do they care to? Are they trying to be industry experts? All going out from the notion of the "Wow-killer", is this what all this is about? Or did they just not see this coming? Did they really think this game would be any different, from all the information and media BioWare put out there prior to the game release? Or are they just disappointed, were they really silly enough to expect something more? Is it not obvious and logical that this would be BioWare's take on an MMO ? From KOTOR to Dragon Age, to Mass Effect to this.. SWTOR!!! Gameplay is similar to dragon age/kotor/wow, there are companions, like in DA/KOTOR.. You get a spaceship and roam the galaxy like in Mass Effect, The galaxy map is even reminiscent of the ME one. Dialogue wheel, choices, story, classic bioware.. wrapped around it a casual familiar MMO, big surprise? Read the press release from 2008.. http://www.swtor.com/news/press-release/20081021_001 I don't see it saying they are making a "2nd-generation mmo", or "revolutionizing" combat.. Or bringing that "sandbox feel" back or.. or.. or.. Seriously guys, I don't understand half of the whine on these forums, did you not do ANY research on this game before you went out and bought it? SWTOR certainly has it's faults for me, but for the most part it is purely the technical one (horrid fps in 10+ player scenarios).. Hell yes, I would have loved a "3rd-generation MMO with a big seamless world and a player oriented economy with the sandbox feel at the same time delivering content wow style etc etc WITH story and awesome quest design and perhaps even Revolutionizing combat.." My point is, it was pretty clear in 2008 that THIS was not the game(droid) you were looking for.. So keep posting your "this game is bad becus..." threads.. I am sure there are many like me who just sit back and shake our heads and wonder how people can be so blind...
  7. Just so ppl understand... I played wow for 6months in vanilla and got tired of it.. Boring game.. Raided everything etc. Had my fun, not a good game in the long run.. Then I tried a bunch of mmo's.. up until SWTOR I never felt like capping and playing the game more than one month.. So swtor is successful in my book... Goes to show.. Opinions are opinions and nothing else..
  8. OP, a lot of these people on these forums are ignorant trolls, spoiled brats who think they know better etc. etc.. BioWare has done a great job creating the game they set out to create, smooth launch, well polished.. Sure there are some bugs here and there, but honestly... I have seen WAAAAAAAAAAAAY worse in MAAAAAANY other game ESPECIALLY from the MMO genre (like are you for real lol?) It may not be the game for you, or everything you had hoped for, but it was pretty obvious for a long time if you came to this website how it was going to be.. !
  9. Pretty bad predictions and reasons, but at least you try..
  10. I got bored of wow in perhaps 6months? And was only playing it cus they added a lot of raid content and progression took awhile with my guild... When TBC came I knew that I was tired of WoW and I moved on to the next MMO as I was urging for a more Star Wars Galaxies kind of game which was the MMO I played prior to WoW.. I am enjoying SWTOR but as some other person said in this thread, I feel like I have "completed it" now... I know that more content is gonna come tho' and that will make me play it until I am tired of the new content. There is also the story side of it which I personally think is cool, so rolling an alt and just levelling and taking it easy is actually quite cool... I am soon gonna start an alt with my wife for example, and I am sure we will have a lot of fun grouping up and levelling up together through the content. I don't think SWTOR has any major faults, or that BioWare didn't create the game they set out to create, It is not "THE MMO" for me but honestly nothing has even come close to being that since Star Wars Galaxies and I HAVE tried several other MMO's in search of an MMO like that. I like SWTOR more than WoW at least, I just DON'T want to play WoW anymore and I haven't felt like WOW for many years now.. I am semi-interested in trying GW2 and TERA but really.. I don't think they will have that appeal that both WoW and SWTOR are missing for me.. I am really interested to see how this mmo 'ArcheAge' pans out, that MIGHT be exactly what I am looking for in an MMO..
  11. while the plot remains the same the lightside/darkside choices you make especially in key situations alters they story somewhat imo
  12. They obviously made a bioware MMO, I cannot say I am surprised with their history of recent games, dragon age, mass effect, and going back to KOTOR.. This game totally makes sense, I think too many people here are just jaded mmo'ers expecting something else... I honestly think Tera and Gw2 will be a disappointment for you as well.. The golden virginity days of WoW are over.. Just let it go..
  13. I am not sure he thinks its a conspiracy exactly, but obviously, people and trolls do this all the time and with a game like swtor.. Well, obvious victim..
  14. You sir, understand it.. I feel totally like you, and I think that sandbox MMO I am waiting for is ArcheAge, what do you think?
  15. Just a few thoughts of mine about some of the posts I read in this thread. I think you guys are being way too emo about this... The levelling and story, heroics and fps, hardmode fps, pvp and ops content is all in all very good and entertaining, if you find yourself bored at level 50 grinding dailies, playing warzones, doing hms or ops etc etc.. Then you obviously just need to take a break from the game since you have just overdid it.. (I too, overdid it, I can relate) Or roll an alt, take off subtitles, take off show alignment gain and play the game as "intended", it's a bioware game after all, this is truly where it shines. (although it does a bang up job in the "wow department " too) Saying that it takes too long to travel somewhere is a bit silly sounding to me and a real sign you guys don't know what you actually want, Ive seen people asking for a nonlinear seamless world and then complaining about travel time in swtor .. its pretty ironic... and plus.. with all the planets in the game, story areas etc loading screens/instancing are pretty hard to avoid.. Less bigger planets would have been more satisfying in a sense. I will agree to that. Maybe the expansion when it comes will all take place on one big planet ? Could be an idea.. Also Gw2 is not going to be anything special either.. it seems to me to a very linear game with no real freedom.. just more "dynamic combat".. and finally it'll start offering some of what WoW has been offering in terms of raiding etc.. It LOOKS great tho. Ill give it that! If you want to play a sandbox MMO with "freedom" then you should not look to gw2 or wow or swtor or rift or tera or.. or.. or.. Try out dawntide.. mortal online.. darkfall.. xsyon.. Wurm... Eve or something... Please try out these games with non linear, non wowish style and "freedom".. I am sure that around 90 percent of you will be like "screw this".. and come running back to a themepark mmo like this one.. Hey I am one of those people for the most part.. I tried mortal online and darkfall exactly a few hours each and then that was it... (screw this) I did however really enjoy Star Wars Galaxies, and I've started to keep an eye on this game called ArcheAge, too bad it's a south Korean developed game and it just entered closed beta.. Will probably be a long while before it gets a western release.. if it even gets one. ;/
