  1. I've been trying the 'friend of friend' thing for too long, giving a shoutout here in the forums... Who: You! What: An rDPS Joining Dogs of War, an Imperial focused "casual" VM (HM) raid team (Note: we are affiliated with <Fortitude> Pub side, but our members come from several different guilds; joining the Guild itself is encouraged but not required) Where: Jedi Covenant server When: Saturdays, 9-11:30pm Eastern Why: Because we're a group of chill, experienced Republic progression players wanting to kick back and relax still doing harder than average raid content on oft-neglected Imperial toons we love. We're open to SM-level raiders wanting to take on the challenge of learning their roles better and kicking it up a notch to the requirements of Veteran Mode Operations. Dreaming of a chance to HM raid? We're willing to teach, as long as you're willing to learn and work on improving. How: I'm not on the forums much anymore, so the best way to reach me to express interest is on Discord (http://www.discordapp.com); my handle is Alix#1542--or Saturday nights around 9pm during the raid: do a /who search on 'Dogs' and anyone showing the "Dogs of Wàr" guild is most likely running on the team. Please ping me if you're interested in this kind of opportunity!
  2. Nah. Because that assumes that we won't be level 80 by then with a new gear level at 6.0 and 7.0 to negate all our 4.0 and 5.0 progress. And still no new content.
  3. I've pulled out the relevant bits of the comments I read that spoke to me and my feedback about the current Galactic Command system. To put some of my pain points in my own words: For years, you marketed the game on the class stories, which implies alts. Your 'big' summer Event *required* your veteran players to roll and play new ones. Then you implemented a system that any game psychologists worth the title would immediately grasp is negative to that paradigm. It's tantamount to a bait and switch. I'm savvy enough to know that business directions change due to market demand, but you have, over the five years of existence, made a number of 'promises' that you have walked back on. I'm one of the people who points out that you do listen to player feedback (like this thread), but the fact is--you've also broken faith with your long-term customers too often for us to trust you anymore. Related to that, I bolded the 'fig-leaf' comment by PlasmaJohn because, yes, yes, 200% that. You promised us back at the end of 2.x that you would never go as long as you did between the release of Scum & Villainy and the Dread Ops without releasing another Operation. You broke that promise THE VERY NEXT TIME you released an Op, with Shadow of Revan. And then you broke it again by not having released another operation in two complete update cycles. There have been no new Flashpoints since 3.0, unless you want to count Uprisings--but that was still an entire cycle without any. There have been two new PVP maps in that same time. We don't play the game just to gear--we play the game to experience new things, new challenges, new mechanics. I'll be the first to admit that I love your story, but that's not why I pay a monthly subscription--I've subscribed all this time for all the other things that can be done while we're waiting for more story. The gear is a means to an end, NOT the end, and I think that this whole whackadoodle Galactic Command system has lost sight of that basic tenet of gaming philosophy.
  4. And you would, at least, be partially wrong. http://www.swtor.com/community/showpost.php?p=9141600&postcount=94
  5. You're wrong. That said: I'm a PVE raider who only dabbles in PVP; I have the Valor to enter Ranked, which I've strongly considered since it's currently the best way to grind CXP right now, but I've been refraining because I have respect for the PVP community and don't want to further pollute their endgame experience. I know I'm not at their level. The fact that I have to make that decision is indication of how borked the system is. PVP and PVE should be giving roughly equivalent rewards for equivalent time investment. Otherwise, people less scrupulous than me are going to ruin things even further.
  6. In my experience, most SM Op bosses only drop 300 CXP packs with the last boss dropping a 600 CXP box. So, most five boss Operations, minus any Elite or Champ trash killed along the way, will net you about 2200 CXP (4*300 + 600 final boss + 400 weekly) for an hour, hour and a half of time.
  7. Actually they do. We were getting CXP on trash in SM Palace. It's boss adds that may not give CXP.
  8. I was here back in 2.0, and it was easier back then.
  9. You win the Internet today. ---- But yeah, I agree with OP. I do have some toons I'm very happy to be Light V or Dark V, but I have a bunch I want for headcanon reasons to be grey. I don't mind flipping back and forth to keep them there, but I'd rather just be able to opt out of alignment changes entirely. If I could still pick a side, but not change my personal alignment, I'd be okay with that, too.
  10. Your Implants might be named 'medic' or whatever, but DPS and Heal implants are functionally identical. They'll work just fine for your DPS spec.
  11. I can confirm that Mod and Implant Schematics, at least, drop from both the Command Crates and Operation bosses. I haven't seen Hilt, Barrel, Armoring, Enhancement, or Relic schematics yet. I also can't speak to mods, but my guildie was unable to RE the Relic he got out of one of his boxes.
  12. Right now, the nodes are going to be swamped as everyone is rushing out to stock up on mats for the initial "new crafting" race. The demand (and competition) will die down soon enough. If you don't want to pay to farm mats, try farm during off-peak times or just wait for that.
  13. But using Diplomacy to manipulate your LS/DS score was a side benefit, not its purpose. It's a gathering skill. It's always been beneficial if you're using it for it's stated purpose.
