  1. Y'all bein trolled! First of, the consistant mispelling of Republic(an) Secondly, OP post states he hates playing Pub side Now he claims that 1 1/2 day under xp boosts to get to 15 on an AGENT ... AGENT ... which defeats his purpose for rolling a pub toon, by rolling an imp toon? Yeah, the end of the first sentence sums it up...
  2. Just looks like artwork to me, last i checked, SI had double bladed lightsabers, this guy has only 1. Honeslty, unless it is listed in the patch notes, it isnt "promised". Advertising is in the form of words and verbage, not imagery, unless the image is described as being content that is available in game, and then the caption/wording needs to specify that this is gear players can obtain. Again, this is just pretty artwork.
  3. Well, if its not in the game, i think that the reasons "why" something is not in the game is because they havent seen the suggestion, havent got the programmer hours to implement the suggestion, maybe the idea hasnt gotten through their own QA process for new features. I do know that there is a technical limitation on how details of such a nature are tallied, mainly because its each of the character that records an ACH, there would need to be a database of ACh that the guild had obtained as well, not sure if there are guild wide achs. As for another limitation would be a system that constantly compares guild achs in order to determine what goes on this board. There is also a social concern that this would lead folks to believe that the game supported and favored one guild over another, because despite what we tell folks, and this is a HUGE and ongoing concerin in almost ALL of the gaming community, THERE ARE PEOPLE who would believe that such a system could be rigged or bought out and there would be a bigger backlash from those who opposed it. In essence, right now, it is easier for them to deal with folks asking where the board was, then it is for them to deal with the implications of implementing such a feature.
  4. Your comparison is Apples to Oranges. Remember, the era we are seeing in ToR is 3000 years before the era of Darth vader, the sith empire IS the founding source of the galactic empire, it wasnt until MUCH MUCH later that the Sith had been driven from the empire for their over all cruelty/murder/etc... In the original star wars films, which are the inspiration for the books and EU you are referring to, the empire had but ONE KNOWN sith and the jedi were thought to be extinct within the galaxy. Even imperial officers and agents held a disdain for Vader, but feared him above all, the secrecy behind the Emperor was hiding his true nature as Vader was his hand of action. Really only the imperial guard was around Palpatine or Vader's direct influence, so the officers, agents, and grunts that werent directly associated with either would not have been affected to a certain degree by Sith code and teachings and activity. Nor were they used to any other "Lord" of the sith other than vader. In the ToR universe, and in the original KoToR games, the Sith were fully integrated at almost every level in the Imperial structure at the time, their influence is seen in almost all areas of the imperial control.
  5. Well, actually, OP according to the terms of which you agreed to, this type of downtime is covered and yo uactually have no legal right to complain or demand anything.
  6. The expansion portion will bring a new area to fquest, new ops, ITEMS, armor, access to leveling to 55. Not purchasing the xpac will simply keep you at level 50 and the limitations that being level 50 brings, as well as not having access to those zones and any content that is intended for 50+ characters.
  7. There is a distinct divide in resources regarding what the technology can handle and what the devs are paid to do. Missing accounts, slots, items, characters, etc... limitation on resources assigned to the technology. Devs "love" they players? Catering to a small but VOCAL portion of the playerbase is not a scientific nor an overall view of what is happening in most dev situations that involve a large number of paying subscribers and fans. First you have to realize that the percentage of folks who would make a comment is only a fraction of the playerbase, in some communities it can be as large as 20%, still that makes up for a nice cross section but we also look at the three types of players that "would" speak up vs those who dont... There are construcitonists who place an idea out there, gain support and hope devs take a look at it, shop it around. There are Postive fans who will praise the parts of the game that they like There are the neggers who only complain without any real clear source to the complain or logical argument. Unfortunately, those players who are neggers tend to post about 90% of the time while the other two groups make up the last 10%, making things "LOOK" like the whole of the community is not satisfied, when in fact, that is not the case whatsoever. From a customer's point of view and the ability to see things ourselves on the forums and in-game, we only get an incredibly small portion of what the ACTUAL community thinks, and that portion is rife with the whiners and neggers, it is the same for all games.
  8. Not in today's world with all the crumbling credit and schemes, if it were the case that this was a practice that is not regulated and normally part of a "prove it to us" scenario, you would be hearing a lot more about scams that use it, and what a scam it would be. People get scammed, not banks and certainly not creditcard companies, well not on the whole anyway, why build in a feature that would lead to a scam? Again, you are distorting WHAT a chargeback is for and why its there in the first place, and this is not it. The scenario for a chargeback is when the consumer can prove that a fraud or deceptive practice is in place that caused the charge in the first place. Paying for game time is a service rendered, if the service was available, per the terms you agreed to, then you would not be granted a chargeback, and YOU would have to prove it. Implying that this "business" did not do the "right thing". What was wrong? The service to play is still available, the service changes, all well defined in the agreement you digitally signed, and guess what, that IS a LEGAL DOCUMENT. If you were to somehow "get" your chargeback, you would be in violation of that document and also commiting fraud. Yes, this is appropriate resolution, as the ROTHC is a product/service, not yet rendered, in this scenario, a refund would be appropriate if one was asked for. But to say that you could cull a chargeback and instruct others to do so, on services already rendered is going to just cause headaches for those who try to do the chargeback, and then for those who GET a chargeback, will be pursued to get the money in another way, per the agreement they signed.
  9. For those who have not done a chargeback before, you hav eto provide proof (in most cases) to the bank as to why the chargeback should be performed. In the instance that the merchant to which the chargeback is coming from can prove that they have already a) transferred a product to you and you, or b) they can prove that service has been rendered for previous payment, they are well within their legal rights to then SUE you for the amount that you techically would owe them due to the chargeback. Think of a chargeback as a very late, canceled check, and if you cannot prove fraud in the merchant's actions, prepare to ultimately pay what you charged back and then, on top of that, damages, court fees, etc... Not to mention bans and credit dings... With a service based product, there is little more you can do, if you can PROVE that the specific service you paid for had not been rendered, in this case, you do not specifically pay to play on a specific server. In other words, RTFP
  10. This could be relevant, but your context is incorrect. The context is not whether this is an "option". This is not a setting, this is a pre-programmed operation of the game that happens to be modifieable as a luxury. If the cut scenes were meant to be skipped as a primary optiion, we would have a "play full scene" option. Until we see the baseline behavior of the cuts asking to play the full scene, no player is obligated for any reason to skip anything. And BECAUSE of that, no player should be ridiculed, shamed, ousted, blacklisted or otherwise negatively seen for playing the game as it was programmed. This argument that the skipping is also programmed, and therefore an equal option in the game is a fallacy, the skip option is a luxury, an "add-on" to the REGULAR operation of the cut scenes. If the skip option were to be an equal part of this area of the game, you would have been given the option to "play full" in addition to skip. But its not that way, is it. All of these self-entitled brats, screaming that folks who dont skip are wasting their time, are in fact, wasting their breath.
  11. They still dont get it, what they are doing because they cant stand when other players play the game AS IT WAS PROGRAMMED, and they then seek retribution. Its called griefing, no matter WHY you did it. Just because there is the skip option, does not mean it is required, it is a OPTIONAL function. Whereas the presence of the CUTSCENES are not. Players have the OPTION to skip through them. However if you are intentionally abusing your role, holding folks up, mass pulling to cause repair bills and whatnot in retribution for someones non-use of an OPTIONAL feature, this is considered GRIEFING and you are a GRIEFER. But hey, i can probably see you commenting again that you wouldnt do that, yet there are posts in this very thread where you and others state that they WILL do these things to grief other players.
  12. Yep, seriously after it was even EXPLAINED to you, you still dont get it. Let me try to use small words so you can understand. Other players are not required to do anything above and beyond what is required of their role when they are using the group finder. So, what that means is that since the spacebar is a luxury effect that is not required for use to finish a group finder flash point, then you have no reason to expect that of them. You also have no reason to be rude to, condescend to, pressure, threaten with leaving (as a tank we ALL know this gets the "accused" VKd, not the tank) if they dont. Get off your "I am the tank and i will announce i will leave if folks dont use spacebar because i am impatient" high-horse. Bottom line is that just because the ability to skip exists, doesnt mean you are entitle to expect to being used and it also does not entitle you to announce that you are impatient/out of time/in a hurry/late for work/have a kid crying upstairs/whatever. If you dont have time for a run that is being done AS the game is programmed, AS-IS, then dont use group finder. But I imagine you are still going to argue against what is the truth. Truth is, when you use group finder, you are subject to the games rules, not yours.
  13. See here is the problem. This would make you a Griefer, and culpable/implicable in punishment when reported as such. Here is WHY: The game has cutscenes and a way to skip them or make them go faster. However, the functionality of skipping the cutscene is a matter of LUXURY for players, it is not a neccesity, nor is it REQUIRED. Therefore, If a player experiences a cutscene in group, they are fully within their rights and priveledge to see said cutscene, regardless of the feelings of other players, because of the simple fact that there is no set requirement for players to dictate or maintain a set length of play in these cutscenes. In other words, the fact that the skip option exists, does not dictate its use, nor does it mean that those who DONT use it are "wasting" others times, because in essence, the intentional "holding back" of a group is not covered in this case as a form of griefing because the player is playing the game as it was intended. On the other hand, when you CLEARLY STATE HERE, ON THE FORUMS, that you are going to take a stopwatch, count the minutes you considered wasted, then apply those wasted minutes to other players as "payback, retribution, etc" then you are most certainly "holding" the group back, intentionally with ill purpose toward other players, making you a griefer. Im not saying that I DONT use the spacebar, I actually use it as much as i can, but I dont require others to use, it, I will make mention of it and what it does and let others choose to use it or not, i certainly take no umbrage to that. But, If ANYONE decides to be rude to me for "missing" even just ONE spacebar opportunity, then I take FULL advantage of those cutscenes and the way the game was programmed to be played, and ALSO when someone is rude to me about this stuff, i all of the sudden ENJOY seeing the dialog timer bar fill up until it expires. So what will it be? Complain and attempt to make some statement in group about dropping because someone does or does not use a built in mechanic of a dialog option and then make yourself the target of a griefing investigation. Or do you become polite and respectful, like you should be ALREADY and "roll with it"? Im guessing that the folks who scream and pop a vein whenever they detect the smallest amount of delay in their precious OCD filled, square laced, guiness book of world records, timed runs. You want timed runs, make them yourself. You want spacebar runs, make them yourself. You want story runs, make them yourself. You want RP runs, make them yourself. But DONT EVER presume that you will ever get ANYTHING LESS than what it programmed when you do group finder. If you do, if you vote kick anyone in GF for just simply playing because you forgot tha tthe group finder has no such rules, if you get your panties in such a twist that you cant possibly stand others who dont do things beyond what is required of them in the games regular group finder parameters, then you really need to step out of this situation IMMEDIATELY and get some therapy or get some REAL social time, away from the computer. Until BW implements a way to "vote on" or "roll for votes" on cut scene skipping or implements a way for the GF to force a cutscene skip, you have absolutely no ground to stand on whatsoever demanding that they be skipped.
  14. I am a TANK. So, Bye bye! BTW the average time for cutscenes even with no choice option, AKA timing out the choices is clocking in at about 9 minutes total spread over an average of three dialog scenes PER RUN. Right, this "EXCRUCIATINGLY TIME CONSUMING CUTSCENE COSTED ME A PRECIOUS 9 MINUTES, LET ME WRITE A BLOG ABOUT HOW HARD MY LIFE IS WITH THESE AWFUL CUTSCENE PEOPLE,BOO HOO WAA WAA" The ONLY FOLKS who complain about this are impatient children, OCD Sufferers or IDIOTS. Frankly If you are getting your feathers ruffled by a BUILT IN part of the game that is no way part of an exploit, you really need to think about your misplaced agression and anger, talk to the developers, not me, you gota a problem with how the way the game is programmed and you are going to blame another player, dont let the screen door hit you on the *** on the way out!
