  1. Try whining about any one specific thing instead of making a post about nothing and whining about everything.
  2. dood, palpatine was a sorc. He one shot TWO Jedi masters in the movies with a melee attack. Sorcs = OP nerf sorcs buff jedi classes that is all
  3. Who cares? Just pick a companion you like. They both tank just fine. Everywhere that you can bring a companion or would have to choose one or the other... it just doesn't matter. Questing isn't hard no matter which companion you bring. Just pick one and stop asking asinine questions on the forums.
  4. Building a raid team based around who gives what buff is a bad idea. People are not going to choose a 'main' based off of which buff they bring to the operation. This idea also moves away from the whole "bring the player, not the class" philosophy, which is better than the alternative.
  5. Nonsensical rubbish. It doesn't appear you've fleshed out this idea very well. Your argument is to make things more difficult....
  6. It's not always about top damage done. I disagree. Assassins are great! Having pvp'd with mostly all of the advanced classes, I think assassins are valuable assets. They may not put out as much dps over the course of the warzone but their ability to stealth makes up for it, by far. They're not designed to put out top damage. It's a hybrid tax class. Don't hate on shadows either, please.
  7. Well, this was the only question I could find. This might be news to you but there are a lot of teenage nerds playing this game. You have to understand that half of the population is below average intelligence. They may be trying to help when it's not asked for. Perhaps they just want to win the warzone and see something that they think is wrong and want to try to help. It could be worse. Instead of trying to help (even if it is bad or wrong) it's better than having some jerk berate you over nothing because you don't conform to their 'standards'. Just nod and then roll your eyes.
  8. Well, in my opinion, it's fun to read and make arguments and comparisons based off of lore but it's totally impractical when it comes to balancing classes. You can basically argue for or against whatever you want if you're using lore as the logical reason for anything. It's hard to imagine that you could convince Bioware to implement class changes citing lore and expect them to balance a game's combat mechanics based off of story canon. I think the best time to use force barrier is way before you're almost dead. Use it when you're at 3/4 health and have multiple enemies targeting you. This will provide the biggest momentum change in your favor. Regarding Knights having a stealth, well son, the force works in mysterious ways.
  9. No this isn't a troll post. I love my sorc, it's been my current main! I've been reading the other threads that suggest how we can change sorcerers but the problem is bigger than mechanics, rotation, or dps parses. It's a fundamental design point of view that puts sorcs behind 'pure' dps classes. The point of this thread is to have the reader consider this, and possibly, formulate questions to address this real issue, not the issue of whether lightning burns should do more damage, changing baseline spells, or any other number tweaking in order to fight enrage timers. Think of some questions as to why they take this stance. Don't hybrid tax me, bro. I could say "healing to full doesn't help enrage timers" but this doesn't really address the problem at all.
  10. Speaking from someone who doesn't use his sorcerer in pvp.... Please stop making suggestions on mechanical changes. The evidence is there; the design philosophy for sorcerers in pve is obvious (to the devs anyway). Sorcerers are meant to provide both a mix of healing and dps! For good or bad the developers have streamlined sorcs to fill the role of dps that provide protection for the rest of the raid. You're not designed to be able to out damage snipers or marauders. Maybe it's just me, but the (non) answers that were given to us are really the developers explaining this philosophy. The game was crafted with each advanced class fulfilling a particular role. The parses are evidence. Pure dps classes put out more damage. That's intended. Sure, you can be upset about it, that's fine. Next time consider which class you are bringing to the operation. I'd love to bring my madness sorcerer to further progression fights but it's just not realistic. Instead, I reroll to fill the need of the raid. You should do the same. Adapt. Reroll an alt! This is very much encouraged! Bioware WANTS you to make alts! Have faith that the nerds at Bioware know what they are doing. If anything, suggest ways to alter the design philosophy instead of offering tweaks to change the function of the toon. Perhaps focus your future questions around this topic.
  11. the final one is... sadness. I guess I'm forced to accept that Bioware has a point of view that defies certain logic. The hybrid tax is part of the foundation of their class balancing philosophy. This tax renders hybrids invalid as dps choices for serious progression raiding. It's sad that the logical choice is to bring pure dps classes to fulfill dps roles. The parses don't lie. Challenging content demands that you squeeze out as much dps as possible, why bring an advanced class that's designed to put out smaller numbers? It seems logical that all advanced classes should be able to put out the same amount of damage if on equal gear levels. But they don't. Crazy that their design philosophy at the highest end game pve raiding makes all but 2 advanced classes inferior. Bring the class, not the player. amirite.
  12. I want to be able to take my madness sorcerer into HM Styrak and beat the enrage timer with my guild. I've seen "pure" dps classes of equal gear able to beat the timer just fine. When our 8 man group has 2 maras and a sniper we beat him just fine. Being able to heal to full doesn't make hitting enrage timers okay. Bioware created a game that has pvp and pve. It's their responsibility to make sure that a dps role can adequately dps under equal conditions, I would think.
  13. You gain the buff by healing to full. I thought this was obvious. >.> L2HYTF, derp
  14. If you're augmenting anything but willpower you're doing it wrong. stacking willpower is the way to go, especially because you pick the talents that increase mainstat by a percentage.
