  1. My views are far from radical. Fact is, TOR buts more effort into the RPG element of an MMORPG than most other MMO's out there. So the game isn't exactly like WoW in every aspect... so what it doesnt have the 1000 of people in fleet that you want. I'm happy with the game and how I play it.
  2. This is untrue, there is a fair number of players that don't care about other population and are only interested in the story or the game. I think the real issue is, is that people just need to take a chill pill and relax. If the only way you can have fun is with your weekend nights wholely dedicated to either pvp or pve raiding than maybe a new mmo isn't going to satisfy you. If you enjoy an awesome leveling experience and a great story, than TOR is for you. The way I see it, this game is like a Kotor 3 with mmo thrown in and new patches every couple of months.
  3. People need to remember a couple of things: A) WoW didnt start out with nearly as high a population as it has now, it takes time to build up a player base and 5months isn't exactly a long time. B)Even on High pop WoW servers most lvling zones have under 20 people per faction in them, with the exception of PvP servers which could have whole wars start and end in random lowbie zones. Here in TOR I usually see above 50 up until lvl 30, and around 30 on the rest of the world till lvl 50 on my server during "normal" gaming times. C)Technically you need 4/5's as many people to do stuff in TOR that you would need in WoW. D)Fleet is pretty busy, but there is lots of stuff to do and lots of people are lvling so they aren't at fleet. You can't compare TOR Fleet to like the capital cities from Wow:BC and WoTLK since both factions were in those cities they always seemed to have higher pop. E)Lower population has its perks, like increased server stability and less lag issues during peak times. F)The server jumping isn't helping the issue, with people jumping around from server to server no one is getting settled and the populations are just jumping up and down. G)Its a game, enjoy playing it, if you need 1000 people in local to enjoy a game than your either a troll or a social butterfly and sadly this game will probably never fill your appetite.
  4. I use a Razer Naga mouse and an Anasi keyboard and have recently taken to writing macros to help lower the amount of button mashing I have to do in this game (they give us alot of skills that are all some what useful). I was wondering if anyone knew how to disable the text that pops up and says stuff like, "Not enough focus" etc.
  5. WoW and Eve both saw massive increases in accounts when they started catering to casual players. WoW made leveling faster (their first really important change to attract casual players) Eve made the 24hr skill training que From these points on the companies continually introduced things for players of both subsets to extreme success. Oh and several games in recent history started catering to casual players too and saw a massive increase in numbers. And hers the main reason: The casual gamer is the majority customer. So what if hardcore players see all the best content... you pay the same $15 i pay if i never see end game content. Back during WoW and EvE's haydays, this was not true... now it is. So, just be nice and crap and both the hardcore and casual players can get what the want.
  6. So 2+ years of anticipation and you make your determination that its bad in what... a week after launch. Give the game a chance, a full month or 2 of trying it out before you just write it off as not living up to your unreal expectations
  7. I'm sticking with the game for at least a couple of months... I love the space missions so much, and its to hard to figure out if an MMO is gonna be great with out waiting a couple of months to see how things settle.
  8. This is really just gonna be a thread to talk about bugs, issues, and ways to improve the game. Please try to give constructive comments and give reasons why you think it would be good. Please DONT post f2p arguments (already enough of those threads). Macro Support - I understand many individuals are afraid this will bring on addons and eventually some level of botting... So I'm only asking for the most basic macro functions of being able to set up a list of skills for it to try to run through (from top to bottom) for a couple of reasons, they are: 1) I work on a computer all day as part of my job, and I've hurt my wrist over the years in a couple of accidents, so my wrist really starts to hurt if its extremely active. This game has so many useful skills (which is AWESOME) that my bars get so full and my key binds are getting insane. Now I understand I could buy device like a Razor Naga to help out... I would prefer macro support so I could mod up a gaming pad to be able to play... I understand that this is a personal preference so may not be convincing to many. 2) Most, if not all, other MMORPGs have macro support, I know that doesn't seem like a great argument, but its become a standard in this industry. Players like to have cleaner bars and less confusion... it makes the game much more casual (especially end game). 3)Despite many of the claims that macro support causes players to have a spammable 1 button IWIN macro... anyone thats every actually used macros knows that players that use these type of macros usually are terrible... Maximizing your class will still be totally dependent on knowing what each skill does and when to use it. Some sort of cross galaxy level chat - This was used in Rift to great success... it will help players form groups for flashpoints much faster. More space missions cross all level ranges - I just love these so much A weapon for C2N2 (and w/e the imperial one is) - Funny to watch the guy falcon punch stuff... but I mean come on. Fix the bug in diplomacy where if you fail it you get something like 1.4000992 lightside/darkside points... and round off my points please. Still, great game... loads of fun. Gladly paying $15 a month to continue playing, especially for the space missions.
