  3. True it would be a Cover, but it could possibly give different buffs while in that specific mode(i.e. increased alacrity, increase to damage, immune to interrupts, etc.). Now, it would be nice to have a bit more mobility, but I think that the mobility oriented dps tree should be Assault.Now with your proposed casting system, that would be a nice change for the Assault tree. The less mobile should be Gunnery, which is why I was thinking of a "Turret" mode. I just can't picture a Commando being more mobile with heavy armor and an Assault Cannon. I know that the casting/interrupt system has been brought up since the very beginning of the thread, but it doesn't hurt to bring it up with more possible ideas of how it could be integrated.
  4. I have always thought that the Gunnery tree should have a "Turret" or "Garrison" mode, in which the Commando is immune to interrupts and has an increased damage output. However, entering this certain mode would render the Commando unable to move. You could give this ability a somewhat short cooldown(i.e. 5-10sec), upon exiting the mode. It would add a good visual to the Assault Cannon wielding commandos.
  5. I will admit, it is kinda weird seeing a Body Type 3 Powertech, running around with just a single pistol. But then the ability usage would be unchanged and would look kinda weird with a Blaster Rifle, as most of the abilities don't even involve the weapon being used. But I guess the same argument goes with the pistol as well. Either way, BioAustin should think about the possibility of letting Powertech's use Blaster rifles. But then they run into the dilemma of what to give Vanguards as a second weapon option.
  6. Vanguard is one of the top dps in PvP right now, especially with the 2.4 changes. I am quite enjoying switching between Tactics and AS. On the PvE end, sure Vanguards are no where close to their pre - 2.0 spot, but 2.4 buffed them to where they can compete more easily with the "lesser" dps classes. Commandos are still good in PvE, both healing and dps wise. I do somewhat agree with some points that you state: Give Storm to all Vanguards And possibly give 1/2 more Defensive's for VG's. Also I have played both classes since launch, and feel that I have a very good understanding of them. I perform very well on both classes, both in PvE and PvP.

  8. One of the most enjoyable things about pre-2.0 Vanguard dps, was the fact that it was a glass cannon. Pretty much all out damage, little to no useful defensives, and no agro dump. It's one of the reasons why I switched my main from launch, which was a Commando, to the Vanguard. It was way too much fun. Then the PTS comes for 2.0. All Vanguards are happy with the changes: agro dump, damage is still very high. A very fun class to play. And then the PTS closed, and then VD-Day(Vanguard Death Day) appeared with Makeb. A completely different class than what it was on the PTS. Nerfed so hard, a lot of players chose to change toons, me being one of them. Then we have some hope with class reps and the possibility of having questions answered that could possibly give the class hope. And then the responses to those questions. They are very bad. VERY, very bad responses. The 2.4 PTS changes aren't that great. You claim that the full trees to better than the hyrbid trees, but they don't. The hybrids still do more damage than the full trees. Using the 30m range excuse is just plain sad, especially when most of the abilities that have the 30m range, are not that great. And I could have wrote something on the lines of the spoiler below as I agree with everything said. It looks like I will never be able to use the class that I had the most fun playing. That is the situation you have with everyone complaining. And If you haven't figured out what has everyone pissed off, the answer is below. Very poor choice of words.
  9. If a Marauder or Sentinel is dual wielding Cathar Honor Swords, I think both swords should show up, instead of only 1 on the characters back. Maybe even possibly forming an "X" on the back of the character. I apologize in advance if there is a topic already discussing this. I could not find a thread with this topic.
  10. ^ This If you want to have a trooper that is ranged that uses a blaster rifle, just make the Commando, and use a blaster rifle. The only ability you won't be able to use is the Hail of Bolts AoE.
  11. In all honesty, keep the Vanguard. Vanguard dps is still pretty good in PvE. But I do agree with everyone else about the PvP aspect, Vanguards got hit hard with 2.0 PvP.

  13. I do agree that the trooper backpacks are a little too ridiculous on most of the armor's. I do somewhat like the backpack/generator on the Tionese-Rakata set. What I would like to see is the armor set(colors and all) used on the troopers in the Hope trailer, like the one below: http://pds18.egloos.com/pds/201006/13/97/c0056197_4c14f235cf81d.png Now, I actually wouldn't mind having a real backpack, like the ones that you had in Republic Commando.   14. I can see the rockets perfectly when I use it. But I will agree that the "cannon" should be facing the front, over the shoulder.
