  1. Not sure how many people pay attention to this one but after the last few weeks I would like to find a group to fly with regularly, or as regularly as possible. My average matches have ended with me being the only one with kills, usually 1 or 2 other people have a kill so it would be nice to get some good matches. I think it would also be fun to have a regular group to fly with. My best ships are probably scout and bomber (far from the best in the game but i can usually hold my own) I fly gs if I have to (though I think my railgus are defective) so if I could find a good GS and a couple scouts or a bomber and scout it would probably be a good combo. I have a rotating schedule so I wouldn't be able to have set nights but it is a set 4 week rotation. Anyone interested in getting a regular group going let me know in game mail to orrunell or on here.
  2. I found that goes through the basics of GSF. I did a quick search to see if I could find tactics a new player can use in various situations but that's all I saw. Most of the videos I've seen have been a little more advanced than I would expect a new player to make use of.
  3. I have the cartel scout on my mains so I can have both quad/pod and one with BLC/cluster, those that don't have the cartel scout I use the T1. Also I like barrel roll because you won't always be able to kill a good GS in 1 pass so when they move I BR away and set up for another run while retro is better for BLC/clusters and dogfighting. Quads/pods, LC/pods are best for a stationary centered target because you can hold down the buttons instead of BLC being best for clicking. BLC/cluster can be used for GS killing just remember to start with BLC and then start the lock. For dom BLC is better due to the AP (turrets and bombers) BLC/pods are a good combo for dom because they both have AP. There are always gunships in dom so quad/pod isn't bad, just need reloads because you will be using the pods to kill turrets.
  4. I've been q'ing for dvl to do dailies but I get the wz weekly done before getting one pop for gsf (doesn't help that I work evenings) I've had that problem with everything jumping around, not so much since I got my new computer and use a wired connection instead 9f the WiFi on my laptop. A lot of people don't realize it's just as annoying for the one lagging (not being able to hit anything) as those trying to shoot you.
  5. KMR (kuat Mesas Run) I saw someone suggested a racing style mode a while back but I think that would just come down to tensor vs. Booster Recharge scout. I thought a solo racing mode with power-ups that need to be destroyed would be a way to have another mode (PVE) and a better tutorial. Check points- Distance traveled would be what is recorded for the leader board so that if you don’t finish and are destroyed you still get credit for the completed distance. Check points would be in tunnels and around obstacles. I would also put one in the middle of a mine field, this is mostly to give slower ships an advantage because scouts would have a big one through everything else. Also would teach new players not to fly into one with the wrong build. Power-ups- the power-ups would be drones that have to be destroyed to receive and would give some kind of advantage… freeze clock, unlimited boost, damage immunity, double boost speed etc… Drone defense- all drones would have either armor or evasion for defense; this would help new players learn to check the target before engaging. Also would give more build options than just making the ship fast. Drone offense- Drones would also have offensive weapons, any in the game would really work and the point is to have drones that are worth attacking and some that are not same as with the defenses. (you wouldn’t go after a protorp drone with a CP bomber, but with a scout it wouldn’t be a problem) some drones could also move. I'm not sure what the best way to designate what defenses/armaments the drones have would be "armored Heavy Laser Canon Clock Freeze Power-up Drone" would be a little long. There would have to be a way to easily identify what the drone is to decide quickly if it is worth it to go after. Leader board- a leader board could be added to the starfighter launch deck to show the top 5 or 10 finishes in each class to make it worth it to use all classes.
  6. This one is my 3rd match, after the first one I used the 5k req to buy the T3 GS and equipped BLC after the 2nd. My second ship will be the T1 bomber.
  7. Thought I'd revive this one with a shout out to Zagobe a hell of a scout pilot.
  8. The clarion isn't exactly my best ship but I was able to make it for 3 in the first round in case anyone wants to see them. Game 1 Game 2 Game 3
  9. It is more fun than it sounds. I rarely fly strikes but i participated last time just to try out a "new" ship, I think I had flown the clarion a total of 20 times before that. I wish I had been able to record it but my laptop was too old and feeble. Now that I finished my new computer I can record but I won't be able to join the fun due to work.
  10. Stasies guide has some good bomber tips but I have a few to add. I'm not an ace but I consider myself competent in a bomber. If you are in a T1 your job is to keep a beacon active, if you are in a T2 your job is to keep a repair drone active as well as staying on the node. Drop beacon away from the node. Not all ships fight on the node, Gunships and scouts are better off spawning away from the node but it also makes it harder for the enemy to destroy LOS is the bombers best defence, don't just fly around the circle if there is fighting on your node. Use all directions for LOS and use c to know when to drop the mines. When dropping mines turn away from the node, if you just drop them behind you it makes them easy to shoot before they arm. Remember where the active mines are and lead the attacker there. Scouts are faster, I use boost and changing direction often to make it harder to follow and create the opportunity to drop mines. If using a CP build use the walls to reverse direction quickly. When guarding you can just call out the sat letter but if there is a GS make sure to let your team know. Type GS before the sat letter so your team knows you need a scout and the threat is off the node.
  11. Getting some practice with all ship types has already been mentioned but I would also stress getting in a scout especially if your preferred ship is a bomber. No matter how good you get 2 gunships will give you nowhere to hide on a sat and unless you are grouped with a decent scout pilot you may be the only one who is able to switch to scout and take them out.
  12. The last few times I've tried I get kicked to the server selection screen. Not sure what the problem is but I may not be able to participate if it keeps happening.
  13. I don't have anything republic mastered but I do imp so I will be on temota. I have my T1 bomber/GS mastered, should have either mastered or be within an upgrade or 2 on both T2 scouts, T2 bomber and t3 gs.
  14. I think I will be working that day but I should be able to make it for the earlier one before work. I finally mastered my imp T3 so I will be able to fly either side.
  15. I'm always up for events but I only get 1 weekend off a month so Im usually unable to attend.
