Two days, two scenarios:
Day One: After spending more than 2 hours waiting/riding that Jawa Balloon in the Tatooine Dune Sea (having missed a jump or two), I was knocked out of the balloon by a pvp Sith, who I may have targetted/or vice versa, in order to know who I was riding with....for the next half hour.... =(
Day Two: While on one of those cross-over bonus missions on Tattoine, a pvp sith, who was following my sage and my kinght companion around (getting objectives while we killed off sand people guards) he, I assume accidentally targetted us or vice versa, flagged us for PVP, and got himself totally wiped out by our autotargetting.
I don't want to PVP!
That's why I'm not on a pvp server.
I understand that even on non-pvp servers, there are hazard zones in which I will go, and in which I have no choice but to be flagged, but otherwise I would rather not be flagged for pvp.
I have 3 suggestions:
1) On non-pvp servers, there should be a way a character can lock off/block off PVP flagging when in non-hazard zones. I should not be flagged by other players when I'm minding my own business in areas where one would not expect to be pvp-ing.
2) Getting un-flagged should be easier. I have to admit, that because I did not flag myself it took quite some time to figure out how to un-toggle the PVP. The suggestions to type "/pvp" and wait in safe zones simply did not work! (I got very tired of cantina music waiting for it to go off). I know now about right-clicking on my own face by the power trays will work, but still, safe zones are not always convenient. Heck I would have wasted another hour hauling myself out of the dune sea, back to a safe zone and back again.
3) I would think that there are some circumstances during which all but movement powers are disabled. LIKE THAT TATOOINE JAWA BALLOON RIDE! =( The time that is needed to accomplish those two datacrons is ridiculous even if you do make all the jumps the first time, and become torturous if you miss. Adding in jerk gankers who knock people out of the ballon ride....well, let's say it doesn't take too many of those types of events to turn a person off a game.
I know, as is evidenced by this forum topic, that lot's of people love pvp. I agree that there are circumstances in which it is appropriate. But I think that people who don't want to pvp should not be forced to do it off pvp servers and in non-hazard zones.
That said, I must admit I probably gained some dark points when I kind of enjoyed accidently killing that sith in the second scenario I described above. =) I love being a Sage!
